Cause they are small and put out a lot of light. I also have a bunch of Walmart Pokeballs at my home LOL. I just put some LED mini circle candles in them, close the lid and they look like it's turned on!
Dang, my wallet hurt when i spent 10 bucks on a lego kit that at least opens and had a small character inside to put together. Before i bought it i took one look and said "is this it". I'm happy with it now.
It's cool and all but I feel like it should at least open or something. Even the McDonald's toys with no lights do that. Those ones even have a little spring so if you have lil pokemon minis you can put them inside and when it opens they shoot out like they're being released from the PokeBall (although I had a treeko lose its tail to that feature..)

I recently got my husband the Cherish Ball replica. The dudes who made the Harry Potter wand replicas and Doctor Who wand replicas made these too. They’re really nice Die-Cast precision metal and stainless steel. They have a satisfying weight to them and have a motion sensor setting so that after you do a pretend throw the ball’s yellow light flashes 3 times and then gives you a green light as if you caught a pokemon. It also has a touch sensor with more fun light settings. You’d just have to feel one to understand. I understand $100 is steep for those on a budget, maybe one day you can save up for one. They’re really nice, the video doesn’t do it justice.
