@@Damion- good for u
win dj they say that to anybody that teaches stuff on youtube
Yup
As a 6’8 junior, post moves are more of understanding angles and knowing defensive stances, there’s not a single stance that can guard every move therefore if you know the angles and can feel where the pressure is put on you then you can score every time
Verry true, it is all about feeling where your defender is at and then knowing what to do, not as some people think just pure power no brain.
7:21 post spin move
As a fellow skills and development coach I have to say it was a very nicely well done tutorial. I have one simple yet important critique, we must teach both bigs and guards using post moves to keep the ball a bit higher to avoid having the ball stripped. From the gather or pick up of the ball when goin into the shot, the ball should be immediately raised between chest to head level and on the outside of the defender. It creates a higher percentage shot and makes it easier to draw fouls. Unless you know that you are going into a counter move where you sweep/hard rip the ball through the player should keep the ball high. Onve again good video.
It’s not well done, he should’ve had a defender on him or used examples from games, and could’ve talked about how understanding angles in the post and when to use each move he just gave us options, not actually when or how to use them efficiently
Im 5'10 at 12 years old
Am i going to be a small forward when i'm older or should I train to play as a center
@@thechad178 you should train all your skills no matter what
@@cameronjackson2346 I think he mentioned “basics”

I have to say as a smaller guy my whole life, maxing out at 5'8. I always worked on post moves to create space and get a shot off. Now that I'm older they have proved to be very effective against younger guys that don't play much defense and just want to jack up deep 3s. I now watch a lot of Melo, livingston, Cassell, Duncan, olojuwaun tapes to learn foot work.
Hakeem the dream is the guy I watch to improve my game.
That’s what I learned. Why only shoot 3’s play defense and lay/dunk the ball when I can do everything. That’s part of the reason why my friend keep losing to me
I do the same shit the post moves +pump fakes kill defenders as a shorter guy, the defense bites on every fake because they want to block a shorter guy
Post moves. Always nice to see them. I think I said it before, I'd really like to see an undersized big man video as I have to play 5 but I'm rather lean and not very muscular.

I'm a small forward / power for my d4 or intramural for my college and I'm only 6'1 and 19 so according the college requirements I'm good for small but I'm 2 inches under for power lol
If it's a less than 3 inch diffrence you can still be interchangable
@@feisalabbasi9265 im 6'2 and i play power forward (17 years old)
@@Mr_Wubber_Ducky_YT that's fine any wherefrom really 6'1 to 6'3 is the power forward range for highschool / intramural
@@feisalabbasi9265 ya but im dominent but problem is u change when u reach nba
2:41 post move 1
I think you missed some important details such as... how to use your body as a shield. How to use defenders force against him. It's more like fencing than a ballet.
It's a good post move tutorial for guards and undersized forwards/centers. For big guys you need to engage the contact, drive to the basket, not away from the basket.
Ohh, and one more thing. It's always best to master one simple move, and over time add counter moves.
Łukasz Be exactly make them respect it
Your points are very accurate. I also mentioned keeping the ball high. Chest, chin, head. He has the ball waist level in the demonstrations.
Im 6'2 and play as a power forward and dominent
@illegal alien may be undersized but still dominent
Because he's not a post player, so he doesn't feel it enough. The momentum and the impact also the rhythm for post player.
Reminder: never bring the ball down in the post, always have it chinned.
Caden Iken you mean bring it over you head?
Dat Hakim its easy for defenders to tap way the ball
Am I the only one that like gets triple teamed when I post up in middle school basketball😂 im not even that good it’s so annoying
Hyguy Gaming yeah that happens alot in middle school basketball, try your best to draw a foul or pass it out to an open teammate.
Hyguy Gaming same, high school players (especially short ones) like to hack, so you gotta go up fast
This channel is the most brilliant thing about bball that I ever found in YT. Every single video is an experience for me. I'm learning every day with every single video.
I follow you since you had 2000 subs and you're helping me to follow my dream.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and like you always say: KEEP HOOPIN'
I love how everyone in the comments are trying to coach this guy
Love from Canada
Glanced at the video I coach 14u currently. No way in hell I’m teaching a catch and fade
Because they are correct and he is wrong! You think he's a great teacher because he made a video??
5:00 post move 2
Thanks for that tips coach
Ok, now do this with the whole team on you, thats middle school basketball
I need tips.
Lorenzo Rodriguez-Johnson very true I get the whole team in me and because I’m only 5”5 I get 5”7 5”8 lanky boys just standing all around me
basically you have to use speed or pass the ball
If you're getting double teamed always remember there's going to be an open man. As a big man you're a real target and a threat to the defense, so an aggressive move and then dish out can find the free man for an open shot
Fr dude😂
Caleb Drewitt the only thing about looking for an open man as a big man in lower level basketball is typically no one is a reliable shooter and it just kinda sucks getting doubled
Keep grinding coach
Nice video coach. very useful to us beginners, keep it up coach.
Needed to work on post moves (and especially the hook) this was an amazing tutorial. Thank you loads coach!
Thank you coach for these moves.
I’ve always been in a situation where I should do a post move but I don’t know how so I do a post move press and then cut in but sometimes it doesn’t work
So this is helpful
Good workout when practicing solo, thanks coach alex
Super helpful! Thanks bro
I love it bro thanks keep it up
Nise post moves!🔥 Thank you so much for this useful video🏀🤤
thank you it helped me so much!
Now i have idea to other post moves thanks!💖

Very helpful
Thanks, Bro!
This is really helpful
thx for the tips
Why this is going to help alot thanks man
Def helpful you a good narrative
Great video 👌🏼
I like this move a lot, It helps me to dominate the paint. I love it!!!
Thanks man
thank you bro, I have a huge game tomorrow and my coach put me on post. I had no idea what to do
This video was super helpful. Thank you
Nice video. I usually play on top since I’m one of the smaller guys on the court but I occasionally face against guys my size or smaller down low so it’s good to know some basic post moves when I’m in that situation.
As a guard going into the trees, try combining some of these with a good ball fake and step through. Guys like me hate it!
Great coach love to see it
Thank you obama very cool
Very useful
Amazing tutorial bro
You should play games to emphasize post moves if you can. Like a mock game or something. Btw great video coach! Keep it up you deserve many likes man!
thank you very much coach i think this will help me especially and i'm not that good at low post i'm tall here in our area 14 years old 5/10 i'm a filipino and when your 5/10 here in the philippines you are so tall that's why you have to improve your big man skills
Could you do a video of the best 100 drills that include passing, shooting, dribbling, etc, and other of 50 best moves ?
For the first one, if your taller don’t dribble, just catch and use your pivot foot in a quick motion, dribbling, although adds power, will slow you down and give the defense more time to think of the best way to guard you, just a quick non dribble motion is better.
This helped a lot because I need to get better in the post and fades since I’m a bigger guy then a lot of people around my age. Now my friend have no chance when I get in the paint
nice video ur an excellent coach but I was wondering if the 3rd move would work against a zone defense.
Thanks
The best
Great video. What’s the difference between a post spin and a drop step?
I love post moves i dont know y most ppl dont. Its fun as hell killing in the post & its appreciated by hoopers & fans most ppl usually get hype & celebrate when u kill in the post.
Best coach ever thank you so much 😂😂😂
Nice video!! Who else agrees with that he is the #1 COACH!!!
✋me i m agree
Both coach Rocky from ILoveBBallTV and thincpro are awesome!
And coach castellaw from shotmechanics
the first move works so well
Good move I will use that in one of my games
nice moves
If you want to you can add a little dream shake to that post fade or post hook, just about any move where your opponent is on one side of you, fake em with the dream shake then hit your shot
awesome
Great video man! Can you link me to the music in your video too? Thanks!
Thx
This is a good bakscball video for me and my team mates are so good 😊
Saludos desde Venezuela Buenos movimientos
Thank you your videos help me so much im ivory coast (africa)
I'm just an average hooper and I've just noticed myself recently not being able to do anything in post, my opponents just force me to go to the paint since most of the time I just drive to the basket or shoot a middie, the first and third moves are very useful thank you for making a tutorial that explains details very good
get the baby hook down. it gives you a lot of space. then watch some shaq videos where his baby hook is stopped by the defender and he does the spin counter. its a very good one two punch. even an old guy like me can still do it
Subscribed 😋
*I Learned a Lot* thanks for teaching us😍😊
Shout out to all Filipino🇵🇭
mabuhay
Great
This guy is so underrated this guy deserves 5mill subs +
I suck at playing under the rim i really need this cause i cant shoot from a far so i need to learn some post moves. I'll make sure that this move especially that 1 and 3 moves i will add it into my game
Okay now let’s go full speed “plays slo mo shots” 😂
I hope this will work. I got games where my teammates dpnt post very well. I'll tell them about this and hope it works.
Great vid thanks! "Disrespect you like the prices at whole foods"?
I’ve found that with the hook shot you should fade into the basket because if u fade away it’s kinda easy to get blocked with all the centers being super tall but if you fade into the defender they lose most of their vertical because they can’t jump high diagonally
Can you make a video about shooting drills please and thank you
The tunes are sick in this video
nice one bro. from coach Armias
Thanks this really helped I'm 12 6'0 I had no post moves so this was really nive
One of the main reasons hook shot don't work is players open too much thus losing the stability (enter of gravity) because they end up with a one-hand jump shot. 2:21 is a great illustration of when one opens up too much.
Post hook. So simple, so efficient. Thats why baskeball is perfect game.
My go to is the hard dribble, bump, shimmy right turn and fade left.
Notification gang
yessssss siiiiirr
Could you do a video on perimeter post moves?
About to play the biggest tournament in Kentucky in a few hours I hope this helps
The catch and fade is literally what I do but I just add some like pump fakes or jab steps into it
I need this now because my coach is making me sit post all game, but I’m a mid scorer
Should you always use backboard down low? (My coach is always griping at me for trying to swish it)
" disrespect you like the prices at wholefoods." haha 5:16
Great tutorial (just a tip the 3rd move is a little more of a drop step then a post spin) all and all great job
We dominating the post all 2020
Question, I used to play at the 2 when I was younger. Haven’t played basketball in nearly 7 years, I’m 19 and 192cm. If I get back in should I play power forward? Casually speaking ofc
amazing video. if you had a defender to use on that'd be even better
Dream shake into a fade way!!
I just made my schools senior team as a sophomore- so yeah thanks for this
what shoes you wear
now im the center, that is the fastest man in the team. Thats really good
On the catch and fade aren’t u able to fake the fade to the base like and go the other way like a double fade
