The funny thing is, Kevin Parker is good at everything, so you could feasibly do a video on every individual piece of production. Top 5 drumlines, top 5 production ideas, top 5 lyrics, top 5 guitar riffs, top 5... well, anything.
very helpful, thanks :)
Mr. Lapp deserves more audience, I think...
Your contents are highly appreciated Mr. Lapp :))

Yo guilty Conscience chords is cool. It's Dmaj7 and Emaj7 but with F# and G# in Bass. That's what my brain wants to think straight away.

Great video! Again😀
But why do you call it a #5dim in song 2 (at approx. 13.00)? Isn’t it a 7dim/5 in 3rd inversion? Or am I wrong?
You might be right. I don’t know and I honestly don’t care what the technically correct terminology is. I’ll take the shorter and simpler title every time though. I only care insofar as it helps me make better music.
@@theindiemusiclab Great reply:-) For the record: I'm not sure myself! I might be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time - and most likely not the last...
But keep up with the good work! I've learned a ton from you!
You got it! And thank you for the kind words :)
More tame and mac DeMarco
Have u heard about Studio one 6 ??
YAY im the 100th like
Thank you!
why do you relate every song to it's relative major? a song can me in minor too, no?
Yes you’re right. It’s just that from a number system perspective, it never made sense to me that a “3 chord” has two different sounds depending on whether it’s based on a major or minor key.
It’s my way of simplifying it so every time I play a 4 chord for example, it always sounds the same, regardless if it’s technically in the key of C major or the relative A minor.
the whole "if you know the 6 essential chords in my pdf down below" thingy ruined this video for me. you could've just tried to illustrate what you're talking about better without telling us to get a pdf we've likely never seen. no offence.
