If you are searching for how to use 4 wheel drive ford f250 this video will likely solve your problems.
Last winter my Ford F250 was stuck in 4WD low and would not go back into 2WD in Park. It was really challenging driving like 20 MPH in 4WD low because I could not get it out of 4wd low.
I finally figured out that you can put the gear into Neutral and that allows the switch to go back to 2WD when it may be stuck in 4WD.
Here are some additional resources I found when searching for how to get out of 4wd ford f250

If your switching into 4 low you should ALWAYS shift into neutral first!! 4high you don't need to but 4 low ALWAYS

I have that same truck you have pictured 1999 F250 SD 7.3 but my problem isn't getting it out of 4x4 but rather it won't go into 4x4 low after I rebuilt the transmission. 4x4 high works fine so I'm thinking maybe the solenoid or motor on the xfer case died that engages 4x4 low. I don't know what it's called to order one though...I had to change the transmission twice because I ordered one and installed it with a broken leg and found out the one I ordered was junk...never buy a tranny from ATK..I made it only 20 miles until it died. I ending up following the instructions on the youtube channel called transmission bench and rebuilt and upgraded my own transmission. Tough to do all that from a wheel chair and a crawler but got it done solo. I think the xfer case might have just got rolled around too much in the process.

08 f250 I put in park and shifted to 4H worked well. Put in park tried to shift Back to 2H would not shift back. Went to neutral tried to shift to 2 h would not go. It was flashing in 2H, not flashing but steady in 4H. Did the tap tap on motor, no luck. Swapped out to Dorman, manually cranked transfer to accommodate their part in 2H, tried it, no luck. The Vacuum pump and lines are new, haven’t replaced the switch. Any ideas? Still stuck in 4H

      Update
Local mechanic tried to sell me for the 3rd time in 4 years another transfer motor, my response was no. Took to Ford, their code TCC was needed, however after 10 years it was obsolete. Found a rebuild in Kansas w/Bud Allan , solved. Asked ford to save old part once a diagnostic was done, they claimed they trashed it. 200$ down the drain. I expected to have original rebuilt for future needs

If your vacuum system is working good the hubs will lock automatically when u turn the switch on dash . If not u can get out and manually lock the hubs

@@MrRyanlipp1980My 92 F-250 doesn't have manual hubs. All I have is the short floor stick shift. The truck is also a 5 speed manual. It has worked for years, but recently when I shift out of 4 wheel drive it feels like the front left wheel is still partially engaged. It makes a god awful metal on metal sound and sometime clunks violently. The metal on metal sound is like I am dragging a cast iron axle on rough concrete. any ideas? thx in advance.
