You can't just use grocery store vinegar. It needs to be like forty percent.
Here in the Caribbean, our weed will use it as water and grow stronger

This method worked for me, but please exercise caution. I used 45% Calyptus vinegar, which was extremely strong and nearly overwhelming. I initially wore a mask while spraying but removed it because it was hard to breathe. I immediately experienced shortness of breath due to the intense vinegar smell, and it felt like my airway was constricted. While it didn't kill all the roots, it was effective in areas where mowing wasn't an option.
I used 30% vinegar from amazon for this method and just used 1 cup of snow rock salt. Started working within an hour. Wish I could post pics. So much better than other toxins. Has a pretty strong smell when spraying. 🤢Smells like Italian dressing afterwards. 😆
does it kill the roots as well?
To be honest it doesn’t kill the roots of the tougher weeds. Im sure if you hit them multiple times over a few weeks it night kill the roots. It works for a lot of the weeds and for about 8wks.

I'd imagine it'd b better to use the regular Dish soap rather than the EZ Squeeze or whatever they call that foaming soap. Just since its thicker. Correct me if I'm wrong, Isn't the whole point of the dish soap to make it less watery and help it actually stick onto the weeds so it can basically smother it?
EZ squeeze isn't foaming, the only difference is the bottle from what I can tell.
The most important detail that everyone leaves out whenever making this mixture is that this is only temporary. Yes on the surface it does kill the plant and turn it brown. Under the ground it really does nothing. Within a few weeks the plant or grass will return.
Correct, I find a couple applications and thebweed is normally gone for good. Sometimes, I need to gonto something a little stronger if it doesn't kill the weed after a few applications
So I'll spray them again, no problem.

As a Landscape Professional who absolutely hates chemicals, this is not as great as prompted. Deep rootes weeds simply grow through it. I dont have time to reapply 3-4 times. Also i have used up to 40% acidity vinegar with no noticeable difference from grocery store 5% acidity. Intense sunlight dose the heavy lifting. Because all the vinegar does is devolve the Cuticle ("sunscreen") from the leaf. Im not even convicted the salt makes a difference. I do however think the soap helps because it acts as a surfactant (wetting agent). If you think I am promoting Glyphosate (RoundUp) you are Absolutely incorrect, I just havent found the natural "magic bullet". But in early spring Flame Weeding is too much fun and effective in certain applications...
Another video says adding an arthritis topical solvent to your mixture seems to do the trick. I'm about to try it out.

I pout some in, so an exact amount is hard to say. Use some good judgment
If I spray my walkway, spraying directly only on the weeds, will it kill flowers that line my walkway by going underground and getting into the soil?
It shouldn't, but as always, when using a jew product, do a test on a small area first. Make sure you spray when it's calm put, a slight breeze could cause some ovwrspray, then you will have issues with your flowers getting sprayed.

Tried it but it’s very slow in drying weeds. I tried the vinegar lemon juice and soap dish.. sprayed twice in three days and it barely made a dent!

I used it on my lawn, too, so didn't want to add the salt. If I am just doing the drive and patio, then salt is definitely worth adding.
That produces sodium acetate and hydrogen chloride which expel an odor like you described and at high concentrations are deadly, do not stick around or do this with pets around

When the weeds have been killed after spraying the solution, do I leave the dead weeds as they are or remove them by hand?
you can remove them or leave them. I have often had to apply another application to fully kill the weeds off.
I added a little diesel and wow all my weeds died

If you toss a lit match into a puddle of diesel fuel, it'll go out. That's because diesel is much less flammable than gasoline. In a car, it takes intense pressure or sustained flame to ignite diesel.
Then what happens to all that left over dead brown weed? Does it just stay looking like that?
You will need to pull it out, but this way, it shouldn't come back as fast or at all if the vinegar has killed it.

Pretty soon after. Give it a couple of days and should be set. Just don't use salt if you are planning to plant flowers or grass.

It will. Don't spray the flowers, and make sure no overspray gets on them.
How long did it take for the grass weeds to die with this method?
A couple of days. You may need to apply again to really die off f they are more mature weeds/grass.
One day After first application, you can speed it up with peeing on them. Or you can collect your pee in a galon for that day.
Great video but what was ur comment on salt? When to use it and when not it? It was not clear....
From what i understood and from what I’ve read, adding salt will affect the soil so only do it around a garden bed/mulch area where ur not planning to plant anything anyways vs a lawn where he will seed in the future so he wouldn’t add salt so the soil isn’t affected and will be able to get the seed to germinate.

Isn’t 30% a bit strong? I used 20% but grass started growing back in about a month.
5% is just as effective as 40%. All it does is dissolve the wax protective layer of the leaf, the Sun does the rest...
And yes deep rooted weeds grow "through" it.
Would it kill the weeds an the grass but i would like the grass to grow back an not the weeds
spray carefully or use another product. If you can get the solution on the weed only, the grass should have no issues.
How long after spraying before you can reseed?
I would give it a week or so, but you may need to spray again for some stubborn weeds if the first round doesn't get them.

Never ever mix bleach and vinegar together. It produces potentially toxic chlorine gas.

Yes I did it works great but only put it where you are not planning on growing anything since nothing will ever grow in this area. I put some and I haven’t seen one weed growing 😂😂

It will. A little overspray won't kill the grass, and it should come back within a few weeks. I would limit the amount that you get on the grass that you want to keep.

No need for salt?
You can add salt for better results. Just watch the overspray as I have found when adding salt that it will kill everything that it touches.

Fyi, this does not kill the root of the weed. It will kill the weed on the surface but it will return.
It will if you apply a few times, especially younger weeds. Larger weeds will need multiple applications or a stronger product.
Will this harm trees or their roots?
Not 100% sure, but I would think so. Try and avoid the plants that you want to keep.

I would only spray when it's dry out and no rain on the horizon for 12 hours at least

Dont spray on a lawn. This is NON SELECTIVE.
I spray my lawn all the time, I have decent aim but have definitely sprayed the grass a few times. It just makes for more fun lawn work if I don't spray accurately.

Don't spray the flowers and make sure that any overspray is contained by a piece of cardboard if spraying close to flowers or anything that you don't want to kill.
