It’s a spores thing. The game will sometimes move enemies from one location to another if they’re tagged with a DoT and you’ve left zones. You won’t usually notice because most frames aren’t doing dmg to guys 40m away out of sight.
You can also see the teleport when solo or running rescue, the enemies that shouldn't be there or are already damage start showing up again later.
@@NeuralSensei This is most apparent when you are scanning for Simaris rep using ivara. Previously scanned enemies start showing up and eventually you won't find any more scannable enemies until you kill them all
Yeah, more than fair. There were times when I was literally searching for enemies because this combo was so broken.
Saryn is Pablo's mortal enemy at this point
Either the Contagion Cloud augment is interacting with the incarnon weapon, or simply her passive, which is 25% more duration on weapon generated status effects, is giving the hits more time to tick and more chance to generate themselves.
Might be toxic lash as well
@@TacticalPotato its usually toxic lash that breaks things like this. my guess is since toxic lash creates a second instance of dmg that inherits the weapons effects, its making previous clouds proc toxin from toxic lash and then if that toxin proc kills an enemy it then procs another cloud repeating the cycle. thats pretty much how the vulcan blitz jat kittag build works with saryn aswell
from my limited testing, with toxic lash, it seems to spread more prolifically with it than without@@TacticalPotato
Man straight up asked for the engineer for stuff to make sense. We all need a nerd, we should all build connections, going up on the SS get along. Infulence down!
Maths is like reading but worse, as a kineathectic learner, reading is already sub-optimal, love ya nerds, you make number make sense
Kengineer, the yt channel
My bet is Toxin Lash, as with the Sobek Acid shells, if you proc and explosion and it also tags the enemy with toxin proc from the AoE, they also explode as you would hit the enemies directly. So I guess when you hit enemy with an attack that causes a cloud, Toxin Lash inherits the hit and any enemy tagged by the cloud cause another cloud.
Yeah had it yesterday where I tested the Dual Ichors with different Warframes that have elemental damage, to see how I can get the most Condition Overload damage, until I tested Saryn with Toxic Lash and the whole simulacrum just Instantly died right out of nowhere
I feel like changes like this just makes sense. Maybe if they did an electric proc itd make some sense for them to spread a proc and not a new cloud but I see they said nope.
Im just happy my favorite wont be touched since it was slammed around and lately left alone. I still use my brauma and even put time to getting a riven from my friend and rerolling until it was a multishot+crit% riven. Even without it the bow is super dangerous, but I find myself of course removing more enemies with the extra damage from an entire extra guranteed arrow
Either way the arcane is so fk good even without the clouds
The dual ichors are also my main melee, and I don't own a melee influence, but I get the chaining clouds whenever i use them with Nekros as well. It will start running away down hallways after I have already left.
Seems like a fair fix. And I'm not just saying that because I didn't know about this build. :P
I think the gas clouds itself is a status effect kinda like the thing with nukor where enlarged limbs counts as status for condition overload like mods, so when electricity procs, it spreads the clouds to nearby enemies
An hour ago I searched for a Dual Ichor build & now you posted a video about it. What a coincidence.
I noticed early on when I got the Dual Ichor incarnon that the clouds it leaves behind will create more clouds for each enemy it kills. During a SP Infested survival, I've watched a single cloud continuously kill infested to a point where it split down multiple hallways and tracked them all the way to their spawn points before finally going out.
melee vortex works equally as well. running the weapon with gas and magnetic. as well as putting contagion cloud on saryn will net you some instant lock down of a whole bunch of chokes. and instead of room clearing with melee influence you get more localized lockdowns
iirc, from hearing some people talk about it, I think it has to do with some kind of interaction between the dual ichor and toxic lash. I think it's a similar interaction that influence was having, but not 100% sure on that.
The game teleports some enemies near to your location instead spawning new ones when you move through many rooms fast. this can be noticed mostly when solo . Maybe that is what caused the spread after the fix,
I was still maintaining a ridiculous kill rate with Saryn on the Kuva Fortress survival; 12 minutes ~ 1700 kills.
It could be Spores spreading the clouds, but I suspect it is Toxic Lash, due to how it interracts with Acid Shells on the Sobek: If an enemy dies from Sobek with Acid Shells installed and Toxic Lash active, the Toxic Lash hit (and poison DoT itself) that happens on every enemy hit by the Acid Shells explosion, counts as a direct hit by the Sobek, thereby retriggering Acid Shells explosion on any enemy that dies with Lash's Toxic DoT still on them.
EDIT: this also makes the enemies that are hit by the new Lash's trigger of Acid Shells trigger another lash and as such, you can wipe well over 60 meters of enemies if the distance is right. It full-chains.
If have both contagious bond and saryn spores and its a effecting another since spores count as a status damage over time effect. and is included in that pet mod to spread it as well. and spores have inifite spread range as long spores able to kill a target in range to spread again. and the more spores cast stack the more it has the loophole to be infinite auto chain, so a rework for spores may be comming in a near future mostly when devs has enough of fixing spores mess.
I enjoyed this only briefly and my god, this thing is like a WMD. I'm a not little bit surprised of this change.
A balanced game is a better game. It's cool that DE wants to err on the side of "power fantasy vs. hordes", but if they let that go unchecked then we get PITA content balanced against obscene min-maxxers becoming standard ruining everyone's fun outside of the psycho-optimisers (who are valid and loved). That was the bad old days. DE introduced Steel Path to kinda compartmentalize that kind of thing. But that was a long time ago, and they (and we) need to be vigilant so that those old lessons don't get forgotten!
I like the part where you assume DE's content is going to be dictated by min-maxers. It never has been. I wish it was.
IIRC, DE has stated that while they want to give a power fantasy, said fantasy should involve actively engaging with the game. A build is considered broken if it basically plays the game for you, like the AoE meta where you just clicked the floor to wipe out the whole room, or spin-to-win where you'd just mash the same two keys over and over. Dual Ichor falls in the same category and it's good that it got nerfed quickly.
Stuff like Incarnon is fair game because you actually need a bit of accuracy to charge them.
@@marcosalazar4682 No, please. Let them put the numbers insanity into Steel Path and let the other parts of the game remain welcoming to casual players. I'm still grinding through Cavia and Holdfasts and it's slow *because* the missions, objectives, and enemies are made with this assumption that you already have a mass of arcanes, nightmare mods, corrupted mods, and other such large power boosters.
And I don't, I haven't been around long enough to get them at single-digit percent chances by myself, and forgive me for not wanting to shell out real money every single time I want to try out a new thing that veteran and especially min-max players get to jump into and blitz into the ground immediately.
I still don’t agree with the idea that a pve game like Warframe should be focused on balance. Let people use broken builds if that’s fun for them. If casuals don’t like it, play solo or build your own team. They only balance the game so you’re further pushed to buy plat.
@@wa_________ge3254 A well-known quote is that "given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game." Players want to have fun, but they also want to be strong. If the strongest strategy is not fun, this creates a conflict between those two goals. That's why a game needs to be balanced.
The solution is to make sure that the strongest builds are fun to use, and to nerf things that make the game boring so that players are encouraged to use actually interesting playstyles instead.
They should make the Scindo Prime busted. That would be nice.
I'm just mad I learned about this the week after Dual Ichors were on circuit and now it's gone before I got to play with it because it didn't rotate back in yet.
I have theory. I once wanted to farm some simaris standing. So I selected loki and did a capture mission. As I was in stealth and scanned enemies, I noticed that when I entered a new room, some enemies were already scanned. I think the game moves the already spawned enemies to a new location instead of despawning them and spawning new ones. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Mutalist Cernos with its own mod in combination with Mirage is still funny too
Videos talking about melee influence are what let me know that no one takes yareli seriously, cause her damage while on merulina would just count as melee damage and proc melee influence with any secondary xd
i think the gas clouds themselfes spreading from spores spread by melee still spread the gas around aswell
Nice vid as always, just wondering if they even warrants a build change or just a slight nerf to CC?
Warrants nothing , the clouds still spread status they just don’t self propagate the themselves
legit had a clip of me on rhino with 400% power str and shock trooper, would tap an enemy in steelpath survival and it would instakill to spawn points nearly, only enemies being leftover being gunners and they would fall after a few seconds in a cloud
@1:15 you talk about the game crashing and my CZcams crashed RIGHT after you said crash 😂😂😂😂
I was thinking Contagion Cloud, if you've got that augment equipped?
Which brings up one of my current pet peeves: why doesn't Archon Continuity work with Toxic Lash/Contagion Cloud? With the rest of Saryn's kit it's almost just a QoL thing, so why that limitation? Maybe there's something I'm not considering, though.
gotta love kengineer mentions
This video is 420 long
Perfectly balanced
Blinker city here I come
High
Now we just need 69 likes
Nice 😊
Some other incarnons could be used for this too, I didnt want to incarnon thr ichors, but with this arcane it shoud be good even after nerf.
So does it also effect zenistar disc?
I hope not because it's not a busted weapon and I think it's fair since the disc is not moving and there is only one.
Before the nerf its more painful using dual ichor than now, on survival i literally have to search oxygen drop on other side of the map cause enemy died on spawn and force me to move unecessary far and in turn messing the spawn, on defense because the spawn is too far from each other it usually does nothing to speed up the round. honestly i prefer current interaction
Now it's back to becoming extremely powerful instead of comically broken. Definitely expected to happen. As shown in your video, Melee Influence still worth it since enemy death from your direct melee hit with Influence active STILL creates clouds.
another thing about spores they benefit of strength, range and duration. what makes with all those stats extremly potent where as contagious bond stacks on that effect as well. they just should limit spores to only scale on strength not range and neither duration. that would keep the spores bit more inline and still effectiv.
currently range adds to spores spread range, strength effects first tick hit damage with a fix damage limit on that hit and duration how long each spore lasts.
as much as i'll miss my mirage cedo combo. I gotta admit it did crash my pc many times and saryn did cause a friends pc to lag out during SO. If a combo in the game is so powerful the game crashes it needed to be nerfed. Not only for balance reason but for technical reasons as well.
wasn´t melee influence only affecting other electric procs? I have it on my dual keres prime and it seems to only spread electric procs
I get it, but the interaction was cool asf. But got to see Lore level Sayrn for a bit.
So based on the wording of the update, I don't think the nerf is anywhere as big as you're making it out to be. From my interpretation, the only change is that electricity procs from the clouds can no longer fulfil the activation criteria for the arcane, you can now only activate the 18s of influence via direct melee hits. But when the 18s influence is already active, the clouds will still be able to spread the status effects as they used to. In essence, the nerf as I see it is that the clouds can no longer independently re-activate melee influence when the 18s timer ends, so it can't infinitely chain without the player getting more regular melee hits. Hope this clears things up, but I'm happy to be corrected if I'm provably wrong
If you use a war crimen toxic lady Sarin, there is no need to be dissapointed. You can still kill entire maps with just a pair of moves. A little bit slower but effective
well even with this gone, saryn has something still pretty similar and imo even stronger due to its scaling. Funny Sobek acid shells
Wow! That's a lot of damage! What is your build?
Hate Incarnon projectiles can still procc it, and you can get the electric from Volt's shield, gg
That cookie tho
Dang, I didn't even finish my DI Incarnon path.
for the whole time, i thought melee influence was only spreading electric effect to others. XD
One shot zaw builds still working tho 😎
Its 100% undeniably a spores thing
I get fixing Saryn, but the variuos fixes impacted a lot of less powerful, less used frames like Mirage, Trinity, and Yarelli, and exalted weapon frames as well. Personally, I'm always disappointed when I see a less used off-meta frames get the one thing they excel at patched.
So what about melee weapons you trow like glaves wolf sleg and the divuri spear that I keep forgetting the name of?
My dumbass thought that the clouds somehow would proc electric procs on their own for Influence to proc..So it truly was a broken mechanism..
Yeah this makes sence. That is too much.
okay so it is unique as far as I have tested myself, It can get way more degenerate if you put a single spore on a target spread that with her 4 and then kill a target with incarn.
edit: just one small thing if they wanted to break this interaction they would have to change saryn's unique interaction itself being her spores that carry toxin damage would have to have the element changed to a new element. So for now have a wonderful time using this still.
It's like the nerf of the Telos Boltace back then when it was beyond busted
To be fair, the telos boltace isnt as busted nowdays, as it was back then.
They also fixed all other secondary effects jumping to enemies affected by Melee Influence, so stuff like AOE armor stripping with Shattering Impact, or explosion-chaining with Vulcan Blitz, no longer work.
oh really? big oof
@@Sarazan97 Weirdly enough, Vulcan Blitz chaining still seem to work... but only with Saryn. Probably yet another kooky Toxic Lash interaction. That ability is the emperor of all spaghetti code interactions.
@@Horvath_Gabor wondering is sooner or later toxic lash will be nerfed lol, makes everything busted
Just another day for Saryn. First it was Exodia Force, now it's Melee Influence. What's next?
4:20 video, I see what you did there.
Torid incarnon chad dodges yet again
Of course this happens when I didn’t get the chance to get them why 💀
3:11 - Wait, did you record that video AFTER the "nerf"? Still doing all those faraway procs?
Yes
@@TacticalPotato Thats awesome, then!
Still one of my favorites!!!
i mean they are still nuts xD i sometimes have 100% damage in mission even if people killed 100+ enemies xD
after torid, dual toxocyst and dual ichor it should be time for acrid to get back into the meta (pls DE I love this gun)
Does sevagoths claws still benefit? I find it stupid you cant put an arcane on his exalted weapon cause its still a melee weapon. Anyways does influence still work with exalted melees?
Never have worked with it.
I didn’t even get to use my Dual Ichor riven, because I don’t have incarnon for it yet…😢
You still can. It's still a viable build. It's just not map clearing like it would. Can definitely still clear rooms and hallways though.
Lol, this means the means it still works with the infested claws!
How?
I kinda hate how people say stuff like "Thanks for making a vid about this. Now it's gonna get patched. :(" like DE doesn't see what's going on.
Yeah, saw it a lot on a couple vids about using well of life to kill thumpers completely bypassing all of their mechanics. Like, DE is gonna notice at some point even if people don't make videos. Something that is incredibly broken or allows you to completely bypass intended mechanics is gonna get fixed eventually. It's only a matter of time.
The war crime genocide combo
So influence doesn’t work on the zenistar disks aoe anymore? Bummer.
Yeah, we knew this day was coming for sure - infinite chaining of damage is one of the unintended glitches they were always going to jump on. I’m just surprised they gave us a couple of glorious months to have our fun.
When the nerf bat comes the thing I always worry about is them doing it so hard that no one ever uses it again. We can all come up with multiple painful examples. RIP my lovely zenistar! But that is definitely not going to happen with the ichors. They are still better than they were without melee influence, and they are still going to a very good melee of a certain type. But the synergy with Saryn’s kit really was so amazing! Saryn already had the games most OP legal infinite damage chaining, so I kind of felt guilty about it. But in a power fantasy game this little glitch may end up being remembered as the supreme power fantasy moment. 😢
But we know the REAL sin in WF is not being overpowered, but overused. It was obvious from day one that everyone was jumping on the bandwagon, so of course it was going to get nerfed.
now I wonder if they still missed being able to activate influence with things that aren't the melee itself. like operator + virtuos surge to deal electric or while on merulina. Also, influence + Dagger argonak gas electric map cleaning armor strip of doom combo. I want that gone too.
All you have to do is read the patch notes rather than wondering.
The most feared weapon in this game is still the nerfbat.
I always like to here updates about Saryn builds but unfortunately I'm too busy spreading liberty and freedom to the galaxy to play Warframe at the moment 😂😂
The ichor clouds scale with modded base damage and modded toxin damage (so toxic lash does buff the ichor clouds), buuuuuut the reason the clouds are still spreading is because a kill from the cloud makes another cloud while the incarnon mode is active.
If you want to do funnies with clouds spreading through incoming hordes: kill a few enemies and walk away from the clouds so the enemies will walk into the clouds and get killed. Because they're at the edge of the other cloud they spawn a new cloud on a different location and voila, that's how the clouds spread.
They (the ichor clouds) did this before the update as well (when the arcane wasn't active, but incarnon mode was), just with an extra unintended interaction to cause it to spread faster with melee influence when the arcane was active . Now it seems like fully intended behaviour.
About spores, naturally if you strip any amount of armour from an enemy they're going to be dead faster. It's not spores spreading the ichor clouds, but spores do make it easier for the clouds to kill and spawn a new cloud, thus aiding in the spreading but not actually spreading them itself.
Edit: forgot to mention faction mods do boost the ichor clouds damage output. Cheers!
i see y don't even know how the origonal incarnon icor works if the clouds kills something it's creat another cloud and then 1 more....
Hello, what skin are you using here?
Does the Xoris explosion still work?
to be fair melee influence kind of broke the entire game, it was very clear that many things would have to be changed
Oh no, now Saryn is gonna take _3 more seconds_ to kill *everything in existence!* How absurd!
always blame potato (and mirage)
I literally noticed no difference trying it before and after, am I dumb?
I knew the update was like 98% nerfing good stuff into the ground. They need to buff most of the weapons.
Well, while I agree with the arcane should do what it says and it was bugged before, I see that DE still goes the "Why are you having fun in my game?" route. People can farm endurance lv cap for days. Let the little man have some fun, ffs.
Dang it, just before I could crash all the Mobile Players
Im just mad i didnt get to try it because i started playing before ichors incarnon week came around. Little mad
In all honestly, the Nerf is fine it makes sense
But to say that the Nerf is partially because PC couldn’t handle it because of the sheer amount of things that on screen was my Xbox was handling it fine Yes it is the newest Xbox but that also means if your PC can’t handle it you’re running on a system that is less than $700-$500 Australian in which case it is not the game it’s not the items fault it’s the PC and look yes some people can’t afford a new PC all go but once again that’s probably why people like PC so much you can individually upgrade your PC bit by bit
Y'all are ocer reacting
What DE did is to not allow the clouds to TRIGGER the melee influence buff, how ever if the buff is ALREADY ACTIVE, the clouds will still benefit from melee influence
So basically, what they did was a small nerf that squashed the camping setup, as it no longer could reapply itself. Thats it
I dont know how people are not understanding this, TacticalPotato included.. the word of the arcane is weird, but this change just doesnt let you get the buff back through clouds, thats all
So, it used to be a self feeding chain reaction .
Yep, but not anymore
I don't mind nerfs to overly powerful weapons and/or strategies, I just wish DE would first focus on gamebreaking bugs than rushing to _"fix"_ stuff that makes characters more powerful. The years old bug when sometimes coming back to warframe from operator can make all your inputs besides moving not respond until the the mission is over is still there, for example. Also, almost every single time I play Duviri there's a stupid bug, be a ragdoll when trying to get on the horse (which makes the boss fight a lot harder) or all inputs dying when tying to push that golden ring to do the shooting puzzle.
I also think DE doesn't think about the part of the community who plays with controllers at all. Sure, there's aim assist, but it isn't very good and melee gameplay, which is far more enjoyable when playing with a controller, got funneled into heavy attacks, which are hard to use with a controller (you can remap, but at the cost of another important button like aim). The new tennokai mods help, but even if you don't lose your combos counters anymore when heavy attacking and can do the animation faster, you're still constantly breaking up the flow of combat into heavy cancels that don't feel very satisfying to pull (especially after the heavy nerf on purple shards). If DE really wanna fix melee, they should take a page out of fighting / hack and slash games, making combos and weapon switching as fast and natural as possible. And bring back channeling, let the player choose if they wanna use that or heavy attacks.
the fix is justified BUT kinda really wish they didnt, loved having a nuking melee.
What is that syandana?
shit. i love ichor.
Oh whew! they didn't ... ADDRESS ... what is of my ichors
2:40 omg bruh! HUSH!!! 😅🤐🤐🤐 Also, it's not just Saryn.
DE killing an entertaining setup again..
I never had melee influence so uh... Doesn't affect me lol
I feel that the only people surpised by this is the crowd that joined Warframe in the last 5 years or earlier...the Dual Ichors have been notoriously known for being busted as shit years ago lmao. For them, please try to keep your cool when the Soma along with its incarnon get inevitably nerfed
Aren't clouds suposed to triger on cloud kills?
Linger yes but not spread more clouds
