Just got my Avata 2 back from DJI Repair. Sent it back for leaking lubricant. Turns out main control board and gimble control board had burned. Gnarly pictures. They sent me a new unit

Thanks, amazing testing! On your wiki, I can't find latency testing of analogue gear. It would be nice to se 2-3-4 combos just for reference.
DJI Air Unit 03 and 04 systems for the win and for the rest of its life it's gonna be winner
I was on the fence about which digital system to go for, walksnail or hdzero. With this information about the new chip used in the O4 (I suspect it's the same or similar in the new walksnail system).
I decided to go with hdzero since the improvement in the image will come with an increase in latency.
Yes I experienced choppiness at 4K30 in goggles while live streaming. The actual footage playback was fine. I prefer 4K60 can also slow footage down 50%

I see in your chart that the DJI air unit O3 will (most likely) become compatible with the Goggles 3, but NOT with the FPV remote 3. How does this then work? will this be reserved for the air unit O4??
When the O4 Air unit arrives? Did you just let the cat out of the bag? 😀

I have a quick question for anyone. I have a high pitch little squeak noise coming from my Avata 2. I have a friend I fly with and his makes the same noise. It doesn't seem to affect anything, but I was wondering if others have noticed the same noise while flying.
Yep, got a bit of that myself. I just crash it, usually, and it goes away! 😉
I can't tell. My Avatas 1 were so much noisier than my Avatas 2 that they seem pretty much noiseless to me. Have you ever tried an Avata 1?
@@plumage_again I've never flown the Avata One, but when either me or my friend has our avada to in the air, you can hear an intermittent high-pitched squeak. It doesn't seem to affect anything everything is stock on the drone. I haven't changed anything yet. Neither has he., it's just really odd that both drones make that same little squeak. It's hard to explain what it sounds like. It isn't that offensive and doesn't sound like it's hurting anything, it's just freaking annoying, when all my other drones don't make any noise like that. And I'm not talking about the volume that different drones make. Drones with prop guards or ducts are always louder, but this has nothing to do with that. I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same little freaking squeak lol
@@pianomans1 I asked because an Avata 1 pretty much sounds like a mix of a chainsaw and a dentist drill! ;)
@@plumage_again so there is the normal sound of the props then there is this squeak. I will try to record the sound with my phone as I dona fly by. That would probably give you all a better idea of what I'm trying to figure out. Thanks for the input. 👍
hey , When do you think the air unit 4 window release is planned for, between September November?! do you think its gonna be the same size of the unit 3 or slightly bigger?!
The question will be if or when they get around to releasing the O4AU will the same awful latency be the case meaning recording in 4K will gimp you. I just want something like the original O2 latency, framerate and light sensitivity wise but with 1080p live feed and 4K recording. I'm starting to wonder if Walksnail has an opportunity here to offer a solution in a future product.
Are the Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra functionally the same in terms of latency when it comes to these results? The Integra has a 100hz max screen as well, correct? Great video, keep up the good work 😄
Yes goggles Integra should be the same as G2
Maybe Goggles 3 performs with more latency since everything connects to the Goggles like the controller & drone? Not sure if everything connects to Goggles 2? And I'm sure if you enable LiveView for your mobile device for Avata 2 you get more latency

I think 30fps looks like shit with drone footage unless you're going very slowly... I shoot 30fps when shooting handheld, but that's a different animal.

they think people want better picture rather than latency. FPV racing is a niche of drones compared to what’s purchased by the masses

I have a big issue with transmission bitrate Avata 2 + Integra maximum I get is 16 mbps. Does anybody have a clue why is like that?

Maybe they’re gonna make it compatible with v2. There is no point in 120fps with g2 or g3 🤷
I tried 30fps on mine one day and wanted to vomit. It was horrible to fly. I've just been unconsciously choosing the higher framerates because it just felt better.
Same here. Sure, it's cool if you're a producer or anything related, but as an enthusiast, l'l gladly give up pro-related video to have the best FPV frame rate possible!
Like this if DJI V2 is still the king of digital FPV.
I cant even fly 60 it sucked when i did its terrible for freestyle.

Guess I must be a dirty philistine, but I don't bother with the cinematic 24/30fps usually, preferring the immediacy of the higher frame rates for action. Awful, aren't I!
I' m not that much of a cinema guy myself, but I'm sure going to try the 100 fps for kicks, just to see what it can do in slow-mo. :)
