Ok. I'll just get a care refresh 😂😂😂
I'm so glad DJI provides an easy service to pay DJI so they can fix the problem DJI created
Thay want your money ):
It seems, no axisflying kit for this one, DJI put an iphone PCB on a drone. :O
Never been this nervous watching a video, I held my breath for 5 min at a time. Bloody hell! Interesting to watch, thanks!
Well done man. As you said, “if you lose a motor, god help you”. They really are not made for maintenance. Thank you very much.
If you need to change only the motors. You're fine. Just cut the wires.
Would you cut this down to a simplified edit so we don’t have to watch for hours
Backwards step from the modular design of the original Avata, besides the battery popping out on impact, it was pretty much a bit of a tank. Avata 2 is undoubtedly the best beginner FPV drone on the market, really fun to fly.
The engineers at DJI must have had a good laugh!!
That background monitor message is priceless. Really appreciate your honesty.😁
How can I not subscribe to this channel, you gave me so much knowledge about drone repair and also saved me a ton of money. The Avata2 was in my sights to do a complete teardown, forget it.. I'm glad I got the refresh.
Actually I broke the upper frame, so I had to pull everything out from the drone and mount it back in new frame. In your video there is most of things, I had also to disassemble ESC and drag out the propellers. After succeding I would say that its not that bad if you damage upper frame - it costed me only 78Euro and about 3hours of time. Now if i had to do it again it would take an hour.
Is it possible to split upper frame? I want to get power plate of m drown Avata 2 off to clean out oxidations.
@@myeyeswideopen_oo I haven't tried that, because both top and bottom of the main frame were damaged. There are antennas in it so it might be problematical
I can see that the prop guards serve the purpose of housing the antennas as well as providing chassis rigidity, but they really screwed us for repairability.
If you bend them in a crash, you’ll have to pray that bending them back with a heat gun will do the job. Otherwise you’ll have to send it in for official repairs.
"Well done DJI, well done for not being morons." Glad I wasn't taking a drink of anything when I heard that. That tickled the shit outta me lol.
When I look at the £1k 3 battery kit, and look at what has gone into it, It seems like a good value. It may not be the drone for some people, but there is a lot in the kit. It seems DJI have decided this is a volume market now. The volume of O3 kits sold mAy have changed their view of FPV.
It's all about DJI OcuSync 4.0 Ecosystem
DJI O4 Transmitter is suppior!
i wanted to watch a teardown because i wanted to replace my prop guards with new one. after watching this. im like nevermind
I dented my prop guards with a crash, and I had to use a heat gun to bend them back. They’re ugly now, but it’s still working, thankfully.
As an electronic designer ( retired) I now understand why the so-hig price. It worths every cent you pay... for what it is and for how it flies. Had inevitably to subscribe, thanks Mad for this video (even if... and honestly said some editing wouldn't have killed 😅)
Please make a tutorial on how to replace the gps module. I know the problem and i know this problem is specifically the gps module on the dji avata 2 and with the help of this video i know all i need is a torx screw and a plastic pry tool
Completely new to FPV, loving mine. Dead easy to fly. My trick for not crashing is to uh.. not fly it into things. Crazy, I know.
Just means you’re not pushing it hard enough! 😆
It is so cool to watch you tear this down. Well done, Good Sir!!
Such a nice RTF consumer drone. Care and refresh is a must have then. Nothing for the hobby builder though. No mods possible
Best of luck getting it back together. Impressive work. DJI makes drone that are simple to fly and it makes wish I could fly that well with my constructed drone. I think we would need to get into a graphene frame to get something light n strong. Have to be so careful with plastic.
Thank you for this video, exactly what I was looking for.... I wanted to fit in an air tag and avoid covering the GPS module
Anyone knows the correct size of the body screws? They are not M2 - more M1,6 but the thread seems to be different.
Wow they used actual vapor barriers for cooling. No more thermal paste 😮
Best not to puncture them.
The mini 3 pro has the esc in the same position, common theme as it gets more cooling via the rear camera ducts in motion.
looks like it would be great slotted onto a carbon frame
now how to assemble all these parts ?
hoping someone is making a better quality avata 2 body. great vid as always.
Incredible! Great video máster.
Is the video cable plug for the camera the same as the O3 air unit? Have you ever tried plugging the Avata 2 camera straight into the o3 air unit?
This one video i was awaited for dji avata 2 since noone make it😍
Which DJI logo would be more appropriate? An apple with four propellers on top? Or a drone with a bite taken out of it?
Would there me a semi-easy way to get power out for a naked GoPro? I figured there is positive and negative on the ESC so that might be a good way. But is there any other way to pull the power easier from the board?
why would you want to mount a gopro?
More options.
That thing works only if care refresh is available. If not, anything goes wrong, its a new drone.
use an electric screwdriver ?
Yo creo que sí que se pueden cortar los círculos que protegen las elices y si se rompen las patas, se puede imprimir en 3d la parte de abajo entera e incluso la parte de arriba que tapa los cables de los motores, no lo veo tan mal de modificar
It's built like a cellphone. Treat it like one and use hot air to remove the tape and it can be reused.
It's best. Please listen carefully to the explanation.
You overseeing the 2 in the back, yes in the ducts
for this price i could build my own drone. Crazy. But thank you for video.
What size screws are on the top plates. I need to get some. Tried GoPro mount, but since firmware updates, this camera is great, and the mount impacts GPS reception.
So no bump guards on the prop guards? Are the antennas there?
Love at the end when you ask about care refresh 😂 why have they made it so impossible to even work on. The avata 1 was easy! You could even buy the ducts etc. They were strong as hell too. DJI just wanna make more dollar from people breaking them
OMG it toke you forever to get the ones behind the side stickers, was yelling at you but you just keep ignoring me 🤣
Ok, moving on 😄
DJI did make the Avata 2 a bit better flying wise, but ruined the repairability completely. Nice job, DJI. Next try creating a proper FPV drone will be the Avata 3 then?
This drone is a perfect showcase of ingenious design if you don't give a flying f*** about any serviceability.
Replacing the ducts on the original Avata was an easy job, so keep on using it as a camera drone is a good decision.
can you make a tutorial to replace gps module dji avata 2
legend :)
oh dear god. thx Mads for showing. so props, plastic shell. splice motor wires. thats it. 1/10 repairability for now
i love my avata 1 even more..
I'd stick with my accessflying
right. I'm not getting the avata 2 lol omg the fiddling.
Wow damn their motherboard are like 60% of apples quality. I will always buy a DJI now
man please tear down guard part i wanna see how antennas placed pleasee
They are in each duct at the flat spots
My avata has a been a tank and I even did the 3.5 mod and I’ve hit so many object with it and just replaced props. I literally did a drift by mistake with the avata 2 by trying to avoid a flag pole so I drifted backwards towards the church by my house and hit the tower and crushed in the guard. Shifted the body in the front which basically totaled my drone but luckily I took back to the store, spent $100 and they didn’t ask for anything else to be return so they sent me a complete more fly kit drone box so i ended up with 6 batteries 2 headsets and 2 controllers. I almost want to smash it some more but this drone does fly much longer. The tricks are neat but boring in normal. I wish they make a fov potato 2 even though it’s already perfect
Genius
I do not understand why they did this, harder to repair than avata 1.
TOP! is there a free 5v for a possible naked gopro?
Did you get the Pepsi sponsorship?
what size screws are these ?
I just damaged the middle frame, is it easier to replace?
Question before I modded my Avata 1 to the 3.5 kit I originally did just the motors first which I didn’t know when I upgraded the frame I had to replace the motors again to the 4 screw mount rather than the 3 hole. Can I use my 3 hole motors on the Avata 2
Good stuff! 👌🏻
hey pal, what are the star bit driver size required for the top two gps security screws?
Incredible complex integration. The production line automation must be out of this world. ie: the machine that makes these drone machines.
What will be interesting is the "Right to Repair Acts" passed as law in at least four states already, and it requires manufacturers to sell parts, tools and provide the necessary documents to anyone who wants to repair at home. FTC has come out in favour of such laws. These laws are fairly new (since 2020, so not tested in court case yet), but a DJO Avata 2 could be such a product that would test.
Dollars to donuts it’s assembled by humans, labor is cheap.
Ain’t gonna be no 04 unit no where soon !!! Smh 🤦♂️
There will be so much e-waste from this. Or maybe DJI will make a lot on refurbished repairs.
Everyone is pumping the Avata 2 on the day 1 reviews - but that content will not go into these kinds of details. A great look inside and still an amazing piece of work despite being more “throw away.”
I understand that dji considered that their average customer probably didn’t do repairs, but for those capable it is a bummer. The frame did not “need” to be designed like this.
I feel like the ppl wanting to repair / customize schould just build their own
@@BabyKnxckz I don’t expect anyone to be repairing ESCs or anything “complex”… but the frame?
Repairing the frame elements of an Avata should be a very low-tech, easy process. I consider it similar to changing the props.
There is simply no good excuse for that except that DJI didn’t feel like engineering any repairability by design this time.
avata teardown masachist !
What happened to me after flying once I go fly again I start the drone and I see the gimbal doesn’t move at all. I tried with my hand and it was very hard to move. I had no idea why this happened.
How many weeks to put that back together
So, do you put it back together again? its also a headache
crashed my drone and the gps flex connector on the board got runied. since 1st day of flight havnt been able to fly the avata 2. it woldnt even start the motors. just 4ked
Ok but when is the o14 au and goggles 11 integra pro 2 v3 coming out
please finish the tear down! where do the antenna cables go to?
The antennas are in the ducts at the 4 flat spots.
DJI goggles 2 transmission cannot shift gears, remains in auto mode, do you have an idea how this is possible?
I bet, that dji is more likely to just replace the drone in case of dji care refresh ....
Never sold my Avata 1 cause of the upgradability..i have the avata 2 and it’s been 1 week and still haven’t flown yet😂 waiting for the shipment of the joystick remote, hate those motion controllers they feel like a dildo aka (the luvtoi) oi!😂
love toy
Will there be a DJI FPV 2 with O4 coming out at any time in the future?
doubtful.
Unlikely
can you teardown esc avata 2? my drone esc erorr
Great video, enjoyed it as always... do you have an affiliate link to this violet cutting mat on your desk?
It’s just from Amazon. I don’t have a link but search Amazon you should find them.
Why service when you can spend 4x as much for the Avata 3? 💵💵🤑
Didn't you had a spectrum analyzer? - please locate the remote ID 2.4Ghz antenna, the one that attracs crazy people. We should attenuate it.
There is no separate antenna for RID. Bits part of Ocusync transmit system.
Hey Mads Tech, do you see a possibility for an Avata 2 motor kit? I think it's a great drone but these motors have a terrible high pitched screeching noise to them that i've never heard from any other drone other than the Avata 1
You could cut the avata motors off on the wires close to the motor and solder different motors on there.
Motor mount holes just need to fit the frame.
@@chrisbee5481 How real is this though? Would there not be issues with tuning or some other factor that would make this impossible? Any idea which kind of motors will work? I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff 😅
The sound you describe might be coming from the choice of waveform that the ESC is sending to the motors. They squeeze efficiency out of motors by how the phases are clocked, in this case differently from bl_heli.
what happens if you crash it with no dji care coverage?
From what I heard the drone will fly away back to DJI and never talk to you again.
I love me my drone
Hey Ian, just wondering what you do after you tear these down?
Put it back together and go flying 😀
@@MadRC thats a lot of screws
@@MadRCI need the put together video
unrepairable fpv drone is the last thing i need
Wow 🤯 crazy... Throw away drone 😉 i know I'll be staying away from that one 🤣🤯 thanks for the great explanation and video as always 😁
Better make the video then re-edit and spool it off when everything is clear
Still winning DJI friends
👍
You need a power screwdriver 🪛
dji care or pass
Omg
So you’re telling people the DJi avata 2 , once it crashed 😮 it is done deal 😢 . By the way, does Dji got the accessory parts for that Dji avata 2 ? If not , bad news. Good video footage telling people that is very fragile fpv drone . people might think about buying that ,because very pricey. also, that is not for beginner fpv drone. (CRASHED). Bye bye😂
i see this and for repars? wow.. fuck!
FPV = Crashes. WTF #DJI how is this a beginner drone? I understand the principle behind refresh care but what does refresh care have to do with me changing a prop guard on my drone after a crash. Poor, Poor Very Poor design in more ways that one. This video shows just how much expenses a beginner can get themselves into in the event of a crash. With such poor repairability of the #avata2, DJI is better off financially with an O4 VTX Air Unit.🙌
Anti consumer :(
Apple might has well built this thing.... Just THROW IT AWAY and BUY A NEW ONE if you break it! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS
why would you do that lmao DJI Care/repair services are both a thing.
I have everything DJI....but with my pass experience , even if I get a free one I really wouldnt fly it, no disrespect to DJI, but their fpv drones need real fpv pilots , to design and test fly them.
I dont think they are targeting fpv / freestyle ppl that will come with the air unit, here they just wanna offer smth for someone wich cant really fly fpv but wans something more than the dji mini / maevic
No they don t. I have the avata 2. I never tou hed a drone in my life before! I m flying manual in 4 days, not doing insane things but flying. I m flying in sport mode at max speed with obstacles as weel, so my experience was awesome and i wouldn t have gotten it with anything else as i m not and don t intent to become a “do yourself” person for this hobby!
UMW2652 is NOT a Chipset. It is just One chip. A chipset is a group of 2 or more chips !
Stop fucking whinging at a single off the cuff comment on a live stream , if you think you can do better go sod off and do it rather than whinging at me on my content gold member.
😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t see any serious FPV pilot using the avata 2 this is worst than the potato
