    In my ongoing attempts to improve my productivity through the magic of hydraulics, I install the hydraulic option on my new-to-me Land Pride RB1672 rear blade. Let's just say there were some challenges, not to mention it becomes apparent that I don't know what a "bolt" is!

    Great upgrade, Chris! “Don’t trust anything I say when it comes to threads.” That cracked me up. :) But I know exactly what you mean. I had a similar issue when installing the 3rd function kit on the Deere.

      Thanks Gord. I kept thinking..."Gordon didn't have all these issues, what the heck is wrong with ME?!?!" Related side note: This video ran long, so I had to cut a lot out...one of which was a scene I shot explaining that if the viewer would like to watch how this job was ACTUALLY supposed to go, they should stop the video immediately and click on this link to YOUR video of this project! (At the END of my video, of course!) In the end, I figured if they found my video they had probably already seen yours twice! 😉😂 As always, thanks for watching my friend. Have a great week. 😎👍🇺🇲 🇨🇦

    Nice work! Sorry you had so many issues, but thank you for explaining everything. For those who may not be aware, the hydraulic hoses don't get teflon, because that tapered end of the fitting is a compression type fitting, that taper IS the sealing surface. Also, I saw the index marks you added for center! That's a great idea! If you felt it necessary, you could also add them to both sides, as a max range indicator. Have fun Chris, and take care Sir!

    At the 4:10 mark when you were referencing "threads" and you said you "ordered 1/2" threads and they worked" and followed with "the manual called for 3/4" threads".
    I believe the proper terminology is that YES, the threads were 1/2", but the 3/4 in the manual is referencing the BODY of the fitting.
    Now, I am like you in that hydraulic fittings causes me great consternation!!!
    NPT, JIC, flat face, ISO, and on and on, so I am sure there are some REAL hydraulic experts here that know better than me.

    I recently got a grapple for my L2501. I did not get the 3rd function when I bought mine and should be chained to a post and beaten with a claw hammer for not doing so.
    I bought my grapple from the local Mahindra dealer and we just measured for the lengths of the hoses and made them up right in his shop.
    Problem is, now when I want to remove the grapple to change to a different implement, I have to undo the hoses from the rear remotes and unfeed them back out from under the tractor.
    After the corn is planted, the dealer wants me to bring the tractor back and he will help me make a quick connect up front so that I can just unplug from the front and drop the grapple without having the hassle of undoing the hoses each time.
    Still much cheaper than $1000 for the 3rd function install.

    • @watershedoverlook
      @watershedoverlook  Před rokem +1

      I heard that Gary. As you probably know, I didn't add on any extra hydro when I bought the LX...just wasn't in the budget on that day. Although, like you, in hindsight I might have stretched for it. The rears are definitely more important to me since a grapple is more of a "would love to have" and less (currently) of a "I have to have". Still...the third function is on my list, so come the day I DO get that grapple I won't have to swallow the 3rd function expense at the same time!

    Chris, very nice job on getting it pulled together. It will be a great option with the swivel blade and power top link.
    Im surprised Kumota specked out your LX with the 1/4" universal couplers. My cab unit has the 1/2" Universal hydraulic couplers. Dan 👍

      @watershedoverlook  Před rokem

      I don't know Dan. I know that TTWT's LX3310 also came with 1/4", although he changed them out. GP's also look to be 1/2" (?) so maybe it's a cab thing? You certainly have more space with the valve placement. It's a good question...🤔🤔🤔

    Great video but it really should not have been that difficult, it would have been easy to have given up. It sounds like you had to do a lot of research to find the correct kit, I was surprised that they have made it that difficult. The different types of threads on hydraulics is a mystery to us although we are very happy with the threads on bolts and other fixings. Great job getting it done

    Another great video - thanks for posting! After you've had a chance to reflect and digest - is the hydraulic top link kit you purchased ready for prime time? Is it DIYable for someone who has never worked with hydraulics before? I have the lx2610 w/ cab and I'm worried the the cab might be an issue/clearance nightmare.

    • @watershedoverlook
      @watershedoverlook  Před rokem

      Thanks for watching David. My answer(s) are a hardy "yes" and "yes". I LOVE the top link. Just the ease and flexibility it provides of simply hooking up attachments to the quick hitch (or 3 pt) make it worthwhile, let alone the on-the-fly adjustments when I'm out working the road. I can't recommend it enough. As to the install, before I installed the rear remotes I had never worked with hydraulics in my life...I was a TOTAL novice. I'd say as long as you have the basic tools and a place to do it, I'd say go for it. Not to blow my own horn but I think if you watch my install video and also Ryan Lynch's video(s), you will be armed with all the basic info you need. 👍 Good luck!!!

    what does a KU-BOATER like that cost? i wanted a L6060 grand L but at $53000 i could not justify it. im hapy with my 2022 tym t494
    i had a kioti nx4510 2022 but it had a bad tranny (like dylan on bud light cans) kioti are nice machines but the NX had a bunch of bad solenoids in tranny (they will never admit that) the ck 26 hp kioti looks nice i think its 2610 i just needed a michine with a bit more ass. mine is close to 7000lb with ballast and loarother der. i did have a yanmar 324 in 2018 with backhoe what an awesome little machine, i miss it. i wish i had the $$ to keep with the new t494 nice channel (you look like my welder neighbors brother, i call him silent dave, he is a man of few words and many skills)

    • @watershedoverlook
      @watershedoverlook  Před rokem

      I love my EA box blade, but the LP blade blade is more than enough for my needs. I bought the 1572 with the tractor (it got me additional 'implement' discounts on the purchase. I sold it for more than I paid for it so this "new" 1672 blade cost me nothing other than the hydraulic kit, which was a LOT less than the EA blade, and no waiting. If my needs change, I'll re-evaluate. 👍

    I'm 6'5"/300#, strongly considering the LX2610 over the B2601for my operating comfort. But i'm primarily cutting grass; 2acres with a finishing mower, 3 with a rotary cutter. Will the LX2610 cut up the grass being heavier than the B2601?

    • @watershedoverlook
      @watershedoverlook  Před rokem

      Clay, full disclosure, I don't have a ton of experience mowing with the LX. I do have a 5' Woods Brush Hog and while I haven't tried to cut really heavy stuff, I have used it and the LX had no trouble with it. As to the size question...I'm right there with you. I'm only about 185 lbs but I am 6 4" tall and comfort was definitely a factor for me in my decision-making process. I sat on a B2601 and I definitely felt a bit cramped, whereas I don't on the LX. I don't think you or I will find ANY compact tractor "roomy", but I have been completely happy with my choice. Not to mention, it does have a bit more power and lifting capacity. They're both great tractors, so I don't think you can go wrong either way. Good luck!
