yay!! That is awesome you got it video coming soon
Thank you!!❤❤
your welcome ❤️❤️❤️
Yes want to see Epson 8550 DTF with white ink hack
video coming soon
I love using my Sawgrass sublimation printer for this hack. I have made myself a lot of different garments with this hack. I do find that with my printer I can't use the painter's tape (get a mis feed) so I just use scotch tape at the top and it feeds great, no streaks!. I have washed my clothing a lot and it is still bright as when it first came off the press. I love your videos CrystalAnn and I hope you keep on making them!!!! YOU ROCK!!!
Thanks for sharing! I love this so happy to hear your success I have lots more videos to come
Great video!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Yes I would love to see the dtf printer conversion please
You got it!
Love you, Crystal Ann! Finally subscribed. There’s an issue with Sawgrass for me - the price for refills outside the US is sky high. Thanks for sharing everything you know to help us crafters, appreciate this video so much.
Thanks for subbing! I love you right back ❤️
Would love to see the dtf mixed with glitter!!! Also, did I miss where you did dtf to wood? I keep watching for it…hope you do it soon if I did not ,miss it. Love your videos, you are craft inspiring ❤
Thank you so much ❤️ you have not missed it I'm working on it so you will see it soon
Yes with the glitter!
Yay! You got it
Yes if you could do the white ink hack😄
Yay!! I'm pumped for some white ink dark fabric here we come 🤣
Omg 😢 crystal I am doing shirts for my uncles funeral and doing them with the dtf hack and inkjet printer since they won’t be washed but the photo we’re using has white clouds and he has white wings 😭
We’re printing on a baby blue shirt. Omg I’m just so scared of all the things that can go wrong 😑 help
When converting the ET-8500, do we use sublimation ink for all colors, except the white or do we have to use DTF ink for all of the colors? If this tutorial already exists, please share the link here for it. Thank you so much. You're an awesome instructor.
Two videos, please!! How to use the film roll and how to use the Epsom. Thank you!❤
Yes would love to see if u can mix the glitter with the glory powder
I agree this has to happen ❤️
My bestie is bomb!!! Listennnn world my girl knows what she’s talking about 👏🏽 💪🏽 I appreciate you soooo much and all you do for us ❤ Yesss please add glitter, would love to see it ♥️ I didn’t know about the chrome blast, pretty cool. And yess with the white ink please 😊 Thanks soo much bestie! I know what I know cause of you!!! Such an informative and thorough video! Stay blessed love 🥰
awww thank you BESTIE ❤️ your an absolute rockstar love you to pieces
Thank you for the wonderful info. Yes. I would love to see if you can add glitter.
Also, can you use the darker parchment paper.
Thank you,
Love all your videos I’ve learned a lot. Could you do a test with inkjet DTF transfer film. And a regular iron? I don’t want to buy all the expensive equipment and find out that it’s not for me.
Parchment works great for me! Epson printer. No taping. Just one at a time though. Worth it cuz the transfers cost Pennies versus almost $1. Some roller marks but I cut them off or scrape area before transfer. Still cost benefit for couple seconds of proofing
Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for putting all this information in one video. I'm wondering if anyone had tried a bit of fabric paint for white background then use the dtf hack? I thought it might work for dark shirts that won't bleach light enough if it actually holds the dtf ink.
Its worth a shot thats for sure I like the way you think
I would like to see the DTF printer conversion. Very interested!
You Got it
Love how you covered a lot of topics. This video is not for a beginner, but has a ton of information to help clarify some of the difference. Never thought of mixing actual glitter with the DTF powder, that might be interesting. I do have another question, can you use the DTF on ceramic or acrylic?
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you ❤️
Yes, I’d like to see the white ink hack…….thank you!
Thank you for all the wonderful information you have share. I am very interested in purchasing an Epson printer that will allow me to do the DFT hack on dark colors. so please post a video of you doing the hack.
Thank you so much 😊 Yay! happy to hear this you got it video coming soon
GREAT VID! lots of Questions answered, CAN you please Review the Eco-Tank 8550!
Thank you so much! You got 🥳
Yes - the 8550 with white ink!
Yay!! you got it
Yessssssss!!!@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat
And it’s an extra $400 for the software correct ?
Yes please mix glitter in the powder. Love to see if it works
You got it!
Hi Crystal, I am a beginner to making shirts and tote bags. I’m so glad I can use my canon inkjet printer 😅 I’ve watched most of your inkjet hack videos. My only confusion is how do I know when it’s a hot or cool peel? I may be missing it or haven’t found that video.
Gday crystalAnn, i think here in australia, we call parchment paper, baking paper, just a heads up. Thanks for your awesome videos
Thank you for the info ❤️
You know I admire what you do - so I have a question - I did the DTF hack with the paper and powder in your videos - it cam out sooooooo great - however when we washed it - it wrinkled up and one part almost came off completely - I have sawgrass 500 and I cured it first - what did I do wrong? Also - expert opinion please - I have a black/white/orange design my teacher friends want on a graphite gray shirt - would you screen print, htv or sublimate hack? Thanks for always being there for us!!!!!!
Thank you for all your suggestions. It’s been great!
2 part question here 😅What is the benefit of using sublimation printer with the DTF powder instead of the ink jet printer- I have both!
And can you wash the T-shirt with the DTF powder or is it more washable if you use sublimation ink DTF.
I would like to see if using “white” DTF powder will take care of the white area dilemma! 😬😁
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. We really appreciate you. ❤ I just have 1 question. Will you please tell me where you purchased the pink heat tape? Again, Thank you so much.
Your videos are always full of so much information!! Thanks so much!! Do you know if it is possible to use a DTF transfer or sublimation on top of white screen print paint?
Thank you so much! I honestly think I tested this at Design bundles but I try so much that I can't remember. but stay tuned as I'm testing it soon
Yes, please do the white ink printer.
You got it
would love to see if you can add glitter to the powder.
Would love to see the white ink hack, do you need a special software to print using the et8550 with the white ink?
I'm looking into this so I should have an answer soon
Hmm have you tried adding glitter to the powder?? i wanna see😊
Not being able to afford a new sublimation printer, I've watched all of your ink jet printer DTF hack videos. I have some questions. You did a Temu haul and you tried out a sublimation spray. That says it removes the sizing from the fabric. Do you think prewashing with soda ash would work to make the ink jet colors more color-fast ? Also, someone suggested using Bubble Jet Set, I'm wondering how that may affect the colors as well. Can you do a video using those products for regular ink jet printers. Such a great video line-up and the community is so supportive as well.
❤ Thanks
Thank you right back ❤️
Please do the Epson converted to DTF ink hack!
Yes Please - for the Epson with white ink
Yay!! you got it
Very informative info on dtf hacks! Thanks! Are the dtf hacks using the sublimation printer fade in wash or is it just as durable in the wash/dry as regular sublimation? Second question is dtf feel the same as htv or more like screen printing feel?
Crystal Ann can you use the DTF hacks on white sublimation tumblers and mugs (or any tumbler and mug)?
Nice and profesional 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
Yes please mix the dtf and glitter and see if it work
Yay!! 😀Glad you want to see this to I will add it to the list
I would love to see the dtf with glitter added to the powder. Also you said you could get the white ink and put it in a converted Epson printer, but the Epson printer will still only have the 4 tanks for ink which color do you replace or am I totally not understanding what you are saying. Anyway I would love to see a video on you doing that. Thanks so much for all the videos, I watch them as much as I can. You are a great teacher.
Thank you so much! 😊 I agree we need to see the glitter test, as for the Epson it holds 6 ink colors for the one i'm talking about so it takes 2 whites
Please do the glitter n dtf. Thank you for this info. I burnt my comforter n sheets on my bed the first time I did a DTF shirt. I wasn’t thinking n put my griddle on my bed without anything under it. Right now I have limited space. I had it on 385 n was trying to get everything right. I didn’t even notice the smoke till my chihuahua started coughing. It was right at the stage of actually catching fire. I had just put a new comforter on my bed n new sheets. Needless to say they are ruined. I learned an expensive lesson, to THINK n not be in such a hurry. 😂
Oh my goodness thankful for your fur baby you are ok. I do stuff like this all the time not thinking when I move my Cricut easy press around
Hi Crystal, I am a beginner in making shirts with DTF! Your videos have helped so much out of many videos I have watched. I do have a question when it comes to transfer paper, do I need to purchase dark or light? Does it matter which one I use or am I looking at different paper when it comes to DTF? Thank you again for all the help in the videos!!
You need to use DTF Film I think you might be thinking of printable HTV as there is a dark and light version. I'm so excited for your journey making shirts let me know if you have any other questions
Hey , I am new to this , I saw most of your videos and decided I gonna make it. But I don’t know why I do the same step but mine come out is orange ish on Tshirt even is white Tshirt 😅
I think the epson 8550 with the white ink would be game changing
I totally agree ❤️
Thank you for this video excellent demonstration of products and uses. I do have a question, I don't think it was asked in the comments. Can one use Yamation or Godora power with either films?
Thank you so much 😊 yes you can
FYI I use my PYD sublimation oven to cure my sublimation ink and it works awesome.
yay! thank you for sharing my question is do you shut the door?
@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat yes I do just have to make sure on low rack in case it lifts a little
Nothing scares me anymore lol. I was ordering vinyl gloves online and there was the warning they can't be shipped to California. I just don't care anymore lol (*sarcasm) I have to tell my 9 yr old grandson all the time to not believe everything they watch online! Definitely do your research with everything! Don't just believe what others say. Some people can also be sensitive to something you are not and won't affect you the same.
I am grateful for this video. I just recently bought some powder after watching all of your videos. I love all the info basically updated to this video
The info about the white ink is interesting. I have actually thought about getting a second printer to be able to use the white ink. Glad to know I was thinking along the lines of something that could be and has been done.
I'm over it as well I to agree I feel like everything now has that warning it's ridiculous! Yes do your research just because one person says no does not make it true. So glad you found this helpful the DTF has been such a fun adventure so far I can't wait to try out white ink 🥳 oh the possibilities
Thank you so much for all the information on DTF. I tried making one with the white vinyl and on without. The one with the white vinyl feels like vinyl but the one without felt like it blended into the shirt. I plan on making more so I can use more cotton shirts. Where can I send pictures of my work?
On my facebook group facebook.com/groups/236260654637329/
Thank you for another helpful video. Id love to see the white ink printer conversion
Thank you glad you liked it! Coming soon!
I love your honesty, my question is if i get the prestige A4 , do I still have to buy the package ..can't I just get the printer and use my heatpress and my powder just how you did it ?
I have a procolored dtf printer and I use the griddle method to cure the powder and it works fine. As much as I would love to have the curing oven, it was just not worth the extra cost at this point. For me, I set it at 275 degrees and it cures within about 30-45 seconds. You may have to play around with the temps a bit. Powers, films and griddles vary so again, you may have to play around with it a bit. The most important thing with the griddle is to use the parchment paper. If you don’t, the film will melt or warp and ruin your print. I hope this helps 😃
I haven't tried it but I've heard you can go into your printer settings in advanced settings and turn down the saturation by like 15% and that is suppose to keep it from getting the roller marks but like I said I haven't tried it yet
oh snap! that would be a game changer thank you for the info I will look into this
One crafter changed the print density setting to like -10 or something like that to get rid of the roller marks
I had an idea I am going to try. With print screening when we did it at school we wouldn’t use print screen paint, we used acrylic. To set the color we would use a dryer to set the color. My theory is to air cure for 24 hours first. Then, put shirt in the dryer to set ink before washing. I’ll try with different ink and keep all updated.
Did this work?
@@jessicawright5964 so far so good
How about slicklab dtf is it safe to use?
There are plenty of other printers that work as well or better than the Sawgrass, using Dye Sub ink. Which doesn't have to be sawgrass ink, even in the sawgrass printers.
What software are you using to create or buy designs with?
I want to see the glitter and the et 8550 conversion
Yay!! Happy to hear this ❤️
About "pizza wheel" marks from converted Epson Ecotank printers, it seems two things interact to cause the marks. 1) Epson uses small toothed rollers to move the paper or film through the printer. This causes no problem with plain printing or regular sublimation film. However, this brings us to 2) DTF requires the ink to be still wet so the powder will stick to the film. The film for DTF is virtually non-absorbent. So, when the film with the wet ink passes under the toothed rollers, the rollers pick up some ink and track it down the film creating the small dotted lines we call "pizza wheel" marks. Some designs hardly show the lines, but the larger the image and the darker the ink, the more obvious the marks become. Changing printer settings to put down less ink helps some, but you can only go so light before the image fades. Removing the rollers results in feeding issues. I wish I had a good solution.
thank you so much for this info
Take the rollers out but leave the outer ones. Job done on et2711 & et15000
I have an Ecotank that I have not converted yet because I know you need to print something every day or every other day, to keep the ink from drying up and since I have no project planned I did not want to start yet. Is there some kind of picture or design we can print daily that is small enough to use all the ink but not big enough to drain all the color out when you do this daily maintenance. Thank you in advance 🙏and keep up your videos, the information you teach us is priceless. ❣
I think printing the nozzle check that is those small lines should be sufficient and print on cheap copy paper not the film
@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat thank you! That doesn't sound so daunting 👍
I know this is old but purge files will work too. It uses all colors and also help you check your ink colors
Ive been doing htv on my cricut for a while now. I just purchased the epson pigmented ink jet printer and products for the dtf hack. What app do you use to upload designs? My printer doesnt have the option to mirror
Can I convert an Epson L805 or Epson XP-15000 to a DTF printer?
You're so stinking amazing!!! Thank you!! I'm putting those big girl pants on this weekend!!!!😄😄
Thank you 😊 You are just as amazing 🤩 yes girl put those big girl pants on and get your craft on you can do this!!! Happy Crafting
do you print on 8.5x11? i cant get it to print. it says too big. ive changed my setting several times. i accidentally bought the wrong size but im trying to use it. thanks
If the Sawgrass is refurbished does the warranty still apply? That would be very appealing as they don't go on sale often.
Yes it does
i have alot of trouble. after i put powder on my print it wont cook. i double check to make sure it is on the correct side what am i doing
Looking for dtf hack using ink jet for decals ??? Is there a way??? So I not spending so much $$# ordering from others to put on hard surfaces
I just watch your video few times, did you print on the shiny side of the parchment paper?
mine is double sided yes print on the side with the wax silicone coating
Question: First off I would like to say I enjoy your vids and watch them all the time, I have learned a lot saying that. I am a little at a disagreement in what you are stating about the DTF powder, you say that this powder that you use is 100% safe just because the company says it is safe? and that THEY whoever THEY are would not sell the powder if it was not safe, so you are saying that big companies care about the safety of the consumer I find that unreal. These companies or THEY as you state THEY over and over I guess THEY are the big companies care about our health, the companies care about there profits not our health. Again I like your vids and I have used this same powder that you recommend and I have wondered about the particles coming from the powder, but I do not understand how you can say that the powder is 100% safe just because the company or THEY say it is. This is like saying that China loves America and everything that China ships to America is safe and non toxic to the consumer because THEY say that it is, I hope you understand where I am coming from. I also bought a Sawgrass and moved away from the powder completely mush better and easier.
Safety is my number one concern I totally get where you're coming from and I respect everything you have said. when I say they is because I have actually reached out to Multiple companies from DTF brands to sublimation to ask these questions. Anything you use is a chemical from paint, sublimation ink, HTV vinyl, epoxy etc even with these things you should always work in a well ventilated area my reason of mentioning this at the beginning was because in the beginning there was a lot of scare. I do want to apologize if you think I'm dismissing safety in anyway! When it comes to anything that may concern you and your Health always do your own research don't just take my word for it or anyone else always get multiple opinions. Thank you 😊 for sharing your thoughts and opinions I think its healthy to have this conversations ❤️
I am new to sublimation. Can you use the powder on tumblers?
I did try this and it was a fail
Is their any reason not to use straight up dtf ink instead of sublimation ink on a converted epson printer??
I know you will still be missing the white ink but maybe the colors on clear shirts will be better quality and you will be closer to “real dtf printing”??
Just a thought.
What do you think about the procolored?
I have not done a lot of research on that one but from what I have seen its looking pretty good
can you do a sublimatoin then put foil on top
Yes you can
After you use the DTF ink, can you use the sublimation ink as well?
just to make sure I answer this correctly if your talking about converting one to DTF no one you put DTF ink or vise versa you have to stick with it
Do you think it’s cheaper to do the DTF hack compared to buying DTF prints? Just curious because I have an Etsy shop, but buying DTF prints seems pretty pricey.
I definitely think it would save you money 💰
Hi! I tried curing on my heat press but got the powder on my press! ugh! Not sure what to do now! Please help! Thanks
You can use this to clean you heat press amzn.to/47RsUZI
My swing away heat press has rubber mats on it. Should I take them off and just press on the flat platter? Should I use Teflon sheets on my heat press? I have been using it with the pads and Teflon sheets magnetted to the heat press but I have been hearing different things from other people.
Leave your heat pad on mine has one as well and I used to have my Teflon with magnets as well you can leave them the only time I would not use teflon is with puff HTV
@@YouCanTotallyMakeThat Thank you so much for replying to my text.
Crystal Ann, I love using the parchment paper. However, I haven’t had any luck printing without roll marks. Any help?
Epson or Sawgrass
Epson 8550
DTF conversation printer please
You got it!
Question my dtf is not sticking to my garment. Any reason why or recommendation
Sorry just seen this I wonder if you need to pre press moisture
DTF ink heated with the powder is different than sublimation ink heated with the powder. I’d think the chemical reaction would be different since the inks alone are different.
I don’t understand the difference between dtf ink and sublimation ink. Aren’t they the same thing
I know that the white is different. And when it is heated with the powder it smells horrible.
I have spoke with the top sublimation and DTF company's and it makes no difference! To add a layer to the cake that DTF powder is also used to cure Screen print transfers and that is another ink as well 😀
