- please dont put 2 table spoons of vanilla extract. i meant to say tea spoons. this is the best old school slice. easy to make serves 8 to 10. recipe written below.
pre heat oven 210 degrees C
oven trays with baking paper
23cm square cake tin with baking paper
2 sheets frozen puff pastry thawed
bake for 12 mins each
flatten cool cut to size
saucepan
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup cornflour
1/2 cup custard powder
mix
then add a little of the 1 litre milk
and mix well then add rest of milk and mix well making sure to mix all the bottom in
add 60g butter
put on stove top on medium
stir the whole time
once it starts to boil it will thicken quickly
once thick turn right down and stir for 3 mins
take off heat
add
2 tea spoons not table spoons of vanilla extract or essence
mix well
then add
2 egg yolks
mix well
put one pastry in bottom of tin and pour the custard in level up a bit then gently press second sheet pastry on top
set aside
grab a bowl and add
1 cup icing sugar
1 tea spoon soft butter or margarine
1 passionfruit or 1 and 1/2 table spoons tin pulp
may need a little water try first without it
mix well
cover top of pastry
leave to cool right down
fridge uncovered for a min 4 hours
cut any size or shape
store in an airtight container in fridge should last a few days
makes 8 to 10

Ohh Yeah! I’m definitely going to make this one. We finally finished the lasagna’s which came out phenomenally but there’s only so much lasagna you can eat before it gets boring no matter how good they taste.❤

Hey AG, I have got a surprise for you. On Saturday my support workers and I made the other vanilla slice. It's bloody amazing mate. They told me that they had also made it the night before for the kids and grand kids. One thing they did discover, When you put the icing sugar over the taste of the gods it made the pastry soggy. I haven't put the icing on yet and the pastry is still going well.

Just put tin on too pastry then cut around
i did that the first time and some how cut it too small so had to make another one. in my defence i do have cabinets just above the bench so i cant bend over and have a look lol 😊💜🥂
