Set up.. brilliant!
Saw them about 10 times back in the day. 'Dear John' always got the whole crowd pogoing! wore my little Au Pairs (with the scissors) badge on my bikers jacket with pride!
I never saw them live. just memories of recording JP sessions on to a tape when parents thought I was tucked in for the night. Headache is a classic
Definitely one of my favourite bands of the time. Probably saw them about only four times, Stiff Little Fingers got most of my gig money.
Brilliant recording , great performance
Love you Lesley and always will
A kind of brilliantly syncopated new wave punk is my interpretation. I like it because it still sounds so amazing!
Still very cool...
Pete's rhythm track brilliant, Jane in sync as always. What a band
The Golden Eagle had a true sound - the AuPairs - never forgotten
Playing with a different sex is up there as one of the best post punk albums from that 78-82 period
Awesome ! The sound is so good. That a guitar player !
Paul Foad on Rhythm
hell yes :)
Always thought this group should have got a lot more attention! Definitely one of the more original bands that came out of the punk or post punk maelstrom. This was a time when some middle class rebels actually wanted to get down with the kids and join in a revolution. Mummy and daddy did not approve.....fun while it lasted!
They did but they lost alot people's interest because of their terrible 2nd Album.
This is the best mob you could ever meet...hear me now!....love you guys....(sort of)This is little Anthony...Move you mob forwards big time....yes man. Bless our nonsense, yes? we back?....move it!xx (prob think too much....but?)
Jim Carrey?
