I'm pretty sure the bachelor's degree is supposed to be taken as a joke, meaning he didn't literally get it. Also the reason that the scenes are animated in a blue or gray backgrounds with little to no texture is have the animation process run smoother (cuz there's nothing much to render therefore the computer doesn't have to do lots of work i.e refections, lights, textures, and background art) Anyways next is the slightly different color, this is due to the other effects such as lighting, roughness (i.e how they make the characters shiny), also the reason the fudge's eyes weren't spinning was probably (I could be wrong) because the VFX weren't added yet

Usually they're an antagonistic force turned protagonistic, like Professor Snape or Prince Zuko, but sometimes they're the main protagonist, like Walter White or Batman.
