But yeah there are still plenty of racists in the country, I try to avoid them. They are far and few but every now and again I'd be chilling next to a braai and someone will slip up... It's sad, we just want to live our lives but some people are stuck in the past.
I don't like Gouws, but he didn't make a racist comment, he made a point. I don't particularly agree with the way he made it, but he was right. There is a double standard when it comes to racism in South Africa, and he proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
That said, how weak must your self image be if you start hyperventilating over a word. It will only effect you if that is how you see yourself. Black people have made a lot of racist comments towards me as well, but I don't let it bother me, because I know who and what I am, so perhaps it's time for you to do the same.

Yes, because how is it that Dean MacPherson knows that there is no asset register for Public Works property yet the outgoing minister didn't know/care ? Such a basic thing which any senior manager in a government department or SOE should be aware of. No wonder it has been taking so looooong for land which the state has to be redistributed. I think the DA was very strategic choosing this portfolio, brings them closer to "the people" who will find just how "racist" they are by giving people land they have been hungering for.
