Chris, the organizer of the Brit Bike Trophy invited me to race his Triumph Daytona 675 at the Brit Bike Trophy (BBT) event at the Lausitzring. Due to my crash at Hengelo, it was a perfect chance for me to get back to riding again. The BBT is a championship in Germany in which you race with other Daytona 675 riders and also spend a great time together. Very friendly atmosphere with good food :-) You start together with the IBPM, so there are more than Daytona 675's at the track :) For more information:

I used to ride an race R6 with Oehnlins supsension. A friend of mine had a Daytona with Wilbers and in Ledenon he let me ride his bike for a turn.
The handling is ridiculously easy, it felt like going from a bike to a bicycle. Within 3 laps I was close to dragging my ellbows on a bike I had
never ridden before. Since I was riding my R6 right before I hopped on that Daytona it took me a while to realize that the engine wasn't broken.
I didn't even feel the acceleration and thought Maybe I am shifting all wrong, only when I started doing wheelies I noticed it wasn't that the
Daytona lacks power, just that it is so smooth that I almost couldn't feel it accelerate...
what do you think is better to start on tracks?i sell my r6r last year and i was thinking buy a daytona.

I would say it depends heavily on which model (year) you want to get of each bike. But if you want to start out on the track with as little investment as possible better take the R6 it is cheaper. Daytona is just easier to handle and will make the learning easier.
Unless you are racing and need every tenth of a second you shouldn't care about which bike is faster. All 600cc are pretty equal.
Could/will you do a video about your feeling on this daytona and about the biggest differences you noticed compared to your R6 ?😃

Matt Kelly amazing bike, very light. And that sound! It comes out best off every test aswell. I have a quickshifter on it which is plug and play and its brilliant. I would suggest a arrow exhaust, they sound amazing. I can send you a sound clip of mine if you are interested

Martin, du mußt etwas früher ans Gas aus den Kurven heraus und noch ein Tick später bremsen, du hast das Talent dafür. Ansonsten bis auf den kurzen Verschalter super gefahren... Und trainiere die Windschattenfahrten. Die sind wichtig, wenn du früher ans Gas gehst... Weiter so Jung und bleib immer auf den Rädern...👍👍👍

That 675 seems to have some really short gear ratios up top or is that just me?
No I thought the same thing, sounded like he was short shifting but when you look at the tach hes shifting just before the red
Wie gefällt dir die Daytona? Vergleich zur R6 vielleicht?
Spiele schon lange mit dem Gedanken mir eine zu holen, konnte aber leider noch nie eine fahren, deswegen würde mich interessieren was du dazu sagst.
Bin ma gespannt was Murtanio dazu sagt. Solange vergleich ich mal Äppel mit Birnen: Hab ne 675 Streety, ist derselbe Motor nur gedrosselt auf 106PS, geht aber immer noch Sahne. Wenn das Fahrwerk der Daytona ansatzweise so gut ist wie das der Streety, würd ich nix anderes haben wollen, die ham’s einfach drauf bei Triumph.
Fahre seit letzter Saison eine Daytona, vorher wars eine Honda CBR 600 F pc35. Im Vergleich dazu ist die Triumph wie von einem anderen Stern. Das Fahrwerk gibt einfach viel mehr Feedback und das deutliche plus an Drehmoment im ganzen Drehzahlbereich ist einfach pure Freude. Nur die Sitzposition war anfangs etwas ungewohnt, da man gefüllt mehr über dem Motorrad sitzt. Bei der Honda war man irgendwie näher am Schwerpunkt.

Ich fahre selbst seit 2.5 Jahren ne Daytona, aber leider (noch) nur auf der Straße. Ich bin nich viele andere Sportler gefahren, aber seit ich meiner Daytona Pirelli Reifen spendiert hab und von den Michelins weg bin, habe ich nicht mehr das Verlangen nach irgendwas anderem. Für mich ist die Maschine perfekt, weil das Handling (mit Pirelli, die sind auch Serienmäßig drauf) so extrem agil und leichtfüßig ist. Andere beschweren sich, dass sie ihre Maschinen in den Kurven einfach nur noch runterdrücken müssen, die Daytona macht einfach genau das, was ich will, ohne großes rumgezicke. @STriple 675 kann ich da nur recht geben, die Streety ist schon top, aber ne Daytona is nochmal ne andre Liga. Ne Daytona R ist dann wahrscheinlich genau so eine andre liga, aber meine ist von 2009, da gabs die noch nicht.
...nun, das war gar nicht so einfach alles. Er ist auch meilenweit von seinem Potential entfernt gewesen was die Rundenzeiten angeht, denn die Umstellung von R6 auf Daytona ist schon recht heftig, wenn man das vorher nie hatte und entsprechend nicht kennt.
Wir mussten den kompletten ersten von zwei Tagen in die Ergonomie investieren und haben das Motorrad komplett umgestellt. Wie Herrbert schon schreibt, hat man bei der Tona nicht das Gefühl mit ihr zu fahren, sondern wirklich auf ihr zu fahren. Und für jemanden, der von einem Japaner kommt und nur das kennt, wirkt es dann so, als würde er permanent zu viel Last auf den Lenker bringen.
Wir haben dann Samstagabend endlich ein Setup gehabt, mit dem er recht zufrieden war. Sonntag fing er dann an sich wohl zu fühlen und konnte die Rundenzeiten noch ganz gut drücken. Aber alles immer recht moderat, um das bike nicht wegzuschmeißen. Denn eigentlich ist es das Bike von chriss#55 (www.bbt-racing.com/rider55).
War ein wirklich geiles WE, aber die Umstellung fiel tatsächlich nicht so leicht, wie erhofft. Und dazu kommt auch noch, das man den Drehzahlbereich einer Tona ganz anders nutzen muss, als den von einer R6. Also tatsächlich was komplett anderes. Aber Spaß hat es ihm zum Schluss in jedem Fall gemacht und er konnte sich dann in den Rennen auch in den Zweikämpfen behaupten und hat sich wohl gefühlt.

What are the differences that you noted in this motorcycle compared to your r6?
The Daytona’s are pretty slim bikes and they have have pretty good mid range for a 600ish bike, stock for stock they handle ten folds better than a r6 but I can’t say how it compares to a race prep r6.

Ich muss unbedingt wissen was du von dem Bike hältst!!!??? Fahre selber ein 675. Bin super überzeugt was die Rennperformance angeht. Fuer den Preis und ohne andere Teile Mega für die Renne. Bin allerdings noch nie was anderes gefahren und selber auch kein pro.

Hello riders, what do you guys recommend, i have a ninja 300 and i want to start track days, the rear tyre size is 140, so you guys think this is ok to start to go to the tracks or i should change to a better bike that has larger tires as 160 or 180?
If it is your first times in a race track you wont be needing other then a 300cc. Those 300cc (kawasaki honda yamaha aprilia) are the best bikes to start learning in the track. Make sure you fit in some better tires (semi-slick) to ensure you better grip and have upgraded brake lines. Get new brakes aswell to get you safe.
Please note: any higher then 300cc for a learner on a race track can be waste of time and money simply because the level of skill and knolege is yet to be unlocked trough exp. The higher the displacement the harder it gets to get used to. (for rookie driver)

Mystical Potato lever guard. Stop the front brake lever from hitting the ground and flipping the bike.
It's to stop the front brake being applied by a bike next to you if you come in to contact

wärmetauscher is raus, ölwannenkit ist verbaut, sekundärluftsystem ist raus, anderer öldruckschalter und in der tona (baujahr 2006) sind im motor alle innerein von der aktuellen version ...ist eigentlich das bike von chriss#55 (www.bbt-racing.com/rider55)
