Spanner means different type of tools depending on if you are in the UK open end wrench, long aircraft box wrenches in the US, and apparently an adjustable wrench in Australia.

Finally, well used tools. Dust and dirt. Nice to see. Great selection. Keep working.🥵

I have the same box but I tend to use a tool bag for more commonly done jobs. That’s like those 95% I could do with the tool bag and then use the toolbox for all the other tools that I might need. I don’t have to meet break out all the time.

There's a lot to be said for that style of setup. I'd be interested to see what you have in each if you ever do a video on it.

Hardening or temper don't have any effect on stiffness, only hardness and strength.
Always interesting to see what tool box has inside. I got some reminders here, thanks

If you ever thought about trying a tool bag for your essential tools that you use the most and as you’re 95% for tool bag, and then have the other set of tools in the bigger box

I've had all sorts of configurations over the years but I'm tempted to do something just like that now, especially with all the new stack type systems available that make it easy to store.👍

I have the same great tool box, it's so versatile. You can sit & stand on it, cut wood off of it... We do the same type of work and even though I rotate tools a bit based on the job, your core set is surprisingly similar to mine. Nice to see a tour with tools that are actually used!

That's so good to hear that, thank you. That's one of the main reasons I started my channel. I love watching tool box tours but rarely see any that look like they have been used. The level of organisation would be a nightmare to maintain on a big job where multiple tools are coming out and going back in at the end. Thanks for watching.
You're right about the tool box too. I still can't find anything better to beat it. Tough as old boots.

Great idea using the tin for old blades. Not such a great thing having an uncovered chisel in the tool box though, that could so your hands some serious harm

Thanks. I.couldnt be without the old blade tin, I go through a lot of them, as well as old scraper blades that I can snap and stuff in there. I'll look in to making a guard for the chisel one day as you're right it is a hazard in there.

Great video. I like attaching my chuck keys to the end of the power lead for that drill using zip ties. Does 2 things, keeps the chuck with the tool and reminds me to unplug the tool while changing bits for safety. Also works with angle grinder keys tool.

With angle grinders……. now for years I’ve ditched the pin wrench band use the screw on clutch plate washers, literally screw them on by hand, they are tensioned/ sprung so easy to use never ever had an issue and means you never have to carry the pin wrench 😊

Nice vid, I need this toolbox

  • @ToolReviewsofToolsIUse

😄 I knew that would upset some folks. It's a beautiful chisel but I paid so little for it (just £1), that I feel its made me disrespect it. I work it hard, but only on what it's designed to do so I reckon it'll last a lifetime. For a long time I've been tempted to swap it out with a single hultafors chisel that comes with its own sheath.
This is only a new channel so I appreciate your comment.

Please don’t keep your nice cherry chisel in there or use it as a beater! Haha they’re great but they’re in my chisel roll

I bought the new version of the stanley ratcheting driver with the yellow end instead of black. Absolute junk. Literally disintegrated. Can't find the old version anywhere.

Such a shame. You would think they would improve ot on the later model, but no. Try ebay maybe, might be some old stock on there.

How much does the loaded box weigh, and do you carry it into every house you work on, or does it stay in the van? 😯 Don't get me wrong, if it works for you, it works, and there is something to be said for knowing that you have everything you could possibly need to hand. I got my essentials down into a little 16" box, which is really handy to carry, but it's a bit too small, I really need the same amount of tools (ok perhaps with a couple of additions) in a larger box. So here I am looking at toolbox videos for ideas.

    • @ToolReviewsofToolsIUse
      @ToolReviewsofToolsIUse  Před 9 měsíci +1

It's heavy, but once it's out of the van and set down, that's ideally where it stays for the whole job. I like setting it up on a work bench or hop up when suitable. I've had more portable versions in the past, but for bigger jobs I like what I have in here. All my other totes and bags etc have been re-purposed over the years. With that said, I've been on the lookout for a new small tote for a while just for the small quick jobs where I need it to be portable. Over the years I have come to the conclusion that the perfect tool bag/box loadout doesn't exist.😅

Very true- as tradies we can spend considerable time trying to get that perfect setup. I’m a carpenter, gave that same Stanley toolbox also years old, so strong. Nothing else like it.
      Nice video thanks
