I hear ya man: always evolving! I've since moved on to rolling out with a flatbed and side boxes, which I also like. As long as you have organized storage you're good! :)

Nice set of tools. When I moved onto my bus I gave away my drywall, tile, and concrete tools. Not much call for them on the road. But I've been adding more cordless to go with the corded. Now I'm running out of room under my couch 🤣
I've parted with tools a few times in the past, and while it hurts, it's always easier to replace them if you need to in the future. That couch sounds like a great storage place!

Nice set up. I use the same approach-setting up job specific kits so it’s easy to just grab my electrical kit or drywall box for whatever job I’m doing. The only thing that lives in my truck is fastener boxes, extension cord and an old B&D corded drill just for a backup. Everything else goes in the garage at night. I couldn’t stand to loose everything to thieves.
Keeping that stuff safe is the way to go. I can't imagine losing tools and things that have taken years to gather up. Well done man

The copper plumbing cleaning tool can also be used to clean car battery terminals.
Oooo, I should do that! Every terminal around here is cruddy and could use a cleaning. Thanks for the tip! Better than using it to clean my ears

It is interesting hearing you talk about your job tools. I am a weekend woodworker and invested in a load of 18v tools. My jigsaw and circular saw died a death the other day and I haven't needed them. I have switched to hand tools and apart from needing a rip saw I feel fine. Do we invest in tools that we don't really need? For me, I will wait until I need something before buying it. Of course, I realise that you are in a totally different place to me! Thanks for the video though, it was entertaining.
Oh, but I completely know what you mean. Some of my favorite building projects have been completed with a handsaw, hammer, and nails. Many of the tools I have on board are to go quicker, or for specific uses in various trades, but there is something to be said for simplicity. And those hand tools can even be faster than power tools, not that speed really matters. Nice comment. Brought be back to Earth :)

Wow, I don't know how you do it, able to do many trades. I guess you must be in a rural area where your skills are needed as opposed to the city and can specialize. Gotta say great set up! Do you find the worst thing is a clean up and of course it aint on the truck . Nest video is how to clean your truck so you don't regret it! LOL Also, what changes or improvements would you like or is that handled by your trailer? Cheers Any plans to go all battery and cut the cord including the compressor?
All battery is a dream of mine, but my first battery powered nailer croaked. I like this setup a lot but do think a van might be better most days. But will I go the van route? No way. I’m too into trucks. Anyway thanks for checking it out!

Oh my God. I was thinking the same thing. I had a yellow tool box exactly like that when I started the electrical trade. The catch’s went and I had to toss it.

You need a van brother. You are not able to use the truck as a truck so why not get a van? That truck would get broken into quick in a big city. I have a 94 Dodge Van with no windows. I have all my tools in a Job box in it, and still a area of about 5’ wide x10’ long to put large materials and it’s almost impossible to get into the rear without the key.
You said it! Absolutely, I just need the $$$ to make it happen. I have my eyes on a Dodge van with a high roof, but really would take just about anything. You are so, so right!

Probably got 10 times more tools than what your truck is worth funny how that can happen especially with me and my hobby farming and I live in town my parents live in a country so you carry tools with you say don't have to run back home $500 pickup truck and $1,500 worth of tools you know
Oh you know it! Got the truck, a 1990, for about $1000 ... so there is no doubt that you're accurate. With that said, though, I love being able to do just about any job right out of the truck :)
