I'd love to see a breakdown of Robert Richardson. He's my favorite DP of all time and has an indistinguishable style.
Please do the work of Noboru Shinoda next! His work with Shinji Iwai has consistently been some of the most raw feeling cinematography I've seen. Especially the film all about lily chou chou that was shot with a sony hdw f900. They had a lighting budget of 600 dollars total so didn't do any lighting in a lot of the scenes, and the result is absolutely wonderful.
Another great update, its like going to film school online.

I've been watching special features of behind the scenes of movies since DVD released over 22 years ago maybe a little before that on video cassette in the mid 90's when I was 13/14 years old in which some blockbuster movies had behind the scenes featurette on VHS on how they made big cinematic sequences but I'm learning way more from this channel and finding it very informative, even if I don't become a Filmmaker because I'm really really dumb and am 41 year old which is too late to start a career in Filmmaking these topics on cinematography, editing and other filmmaking techniques are just so interesting and pure genius and watching them on how they do these shots just fuels my passion for Filmmaking and movies as a whole.

@@wackywong Oh thank you, I really appreciate the kind words, yes I really would love to learn cinematography but feel I just don't have the I.Q. for it, but it's a subject that really interests me.
@@robertobuatti7226 Nah, brains matter, sure, but experience matters too and perhaps even more so!
Start small, use your phone or buy a cheap-ish camera. And let it snowball from there.

@@wackywong Thank you for that, I really appreciate the kind words, yes I definitely need to start small to learn the basics of photography/cinematography and start with an entry level course and I definitely need to get a camera that I can use because my phone's camera is garbage, but am a bit confused what are good camera's that aren't too expensive or too difficult to understand for a beginner because I know it can get a bit overwhelming.

I never heard of the Dogme 95 movement before. Most of there cinematic rules fits my aesthetic.
It was a Danish thing, invented by the Danish directors Lars von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg. Only around a dozen films were made by the Dogme 95 manifesto.
I recommend watching the film "The Celebration", by Thomas Vinterberg. It has a high rating on RT, and has also occasionally been on IMDB's top 250.
Also the English Wikipedia has an article, explaining more about Dogme 95.
Such a cool video, love this series. How do you find out what gear/film stocks directors use on various projects?
Search a movie and then put Technical Specifications and an IMDB link will pop up, showing what cameras, lenses, film, and lab process was used on the film.
