What To Eat On OMAD For An Amazing Transformation is a video that breaks down how you can eat one meal a day successfully following a method that I have used for years. One meal a day is a common strategy that many people find to work very well for them as they are trying to improve their health. I have personally used one meal a day for many years and find it to be a great strategy for overall health and wellbeing. OMAD can successfully be used by anyone in good health as a strategy to further improve your baseline health.
One meal a day is a great way to start improving your health naturally. This strategy has transformed the lives of many people who follow this channel. The omad diet is one that is effortless, requiring those who follow it to do nothing other than simply change eating pattern so they eat only at night. My omad diet before and after results were amazing for the very minimal effort put into following this simple to follow diet.

Dr Fung said there's no such thing as slow down the metabolism if the meal is low in calories
One question Nick. Can I have a smoothie with my Omad diet
Great video! Because keto is not for me.
This is not true, you dont crush your metabolism by eating 900 calories a day, not if you are doing OMAD, only if you eat 3-4 times a day, because she is in a fasting state, her body will derive the calories from her fat, her body will not lower the metabolism, i eat 1000 calories per day, and lost so far 10kg, my metabolism is WAY higher than before, before i could feel the food in my stomach for over a day especially after eating heavy things, now it takes 4 hours and i dont feel like anything is in my stomach anymore.
To be honest, sticking with OMAD was never a matter of discipline for me. It's way easier than dieting or anything else. I eat healthy food once a day, till I'm full and feel good, no sugar except for a piece or two of fresh fruit, and then for 23 hours I don't even think about food, it's totally out of my mind. I don't worry about snacking or cooking or anything related to food. Dieting... now that takes discipline, and constant willpower to not eat, it's torture. OMAD is so liberating, and I enjoy my food mindfully instead of always feeling like I'm not full.
I'm on my 6th day of omad and I'm hoping it's the same for me.
@@BeingBetter howâs it going so far?
I love OMAD
Gat a sample omad meal example,?
@@jujuapple6706 Three egg omelet. Pasta with broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, olive oil, parmesan cheese and grilled chicken. An orange. A banana. Glass of whole milk. Coffee.
i love omad. i lost 30 pounds during the pandemic from omad + keto. You have to eat healthy whole foods like you said. Mental clarity goes through the roof and weight loss is an added benefit. (and fasted exercise is super good too!)
Nice! Keep up the good work
Hi! Thatâs amazing. At what time do you eat your OMAD and how many calories?
@@gaurikachopra995 I wouldn't stress too hard about the timing but usually around 3pm. I'd try to shoot for around 1800 calories at least but usually would go for more. Nuts were a good way to add healthy fat and calories to the diet. Otherwise it was hard to get enough.
I eat at 3:30pm !!
In the ancient Vedas, nine thousand old sacred Indian scriptures, its written that:
One meal a day, you are a yogi man.
Two meals a day, you are a warrior man.
Three meals a day, you are a trader man.
Four meals a day, you are an animal man.
Wow!
Which particular scripture? Which verse ? If you don't mind me asking.
It's just a religious belief that they're 9000 years old. Historians say it's more like 3,500 maximum. The Sanskrit language didn't even exist until around then.
@@livrowland171 still older than most other religions.
You know why I follow these proponents of IF on CZcams? Because they all look better and some even younger than they did in their videos a few years back.
Yes!!! Me too! Dr Z is like a fine wine đ·
I eat OMAD and have recently put on 8lbs of weight due to my love of peanut butter! It's easy to forget it's still possible to eat too many calories on this way of eating.
You're correct, you can't eat whatever you want. Ive been fasting 20 hours a day for years, and my first meal is a large salad with spinach leaves, grilled asparagus (or zucchini), coriander, shallots, parsley etc. Then I eat a main meal. I quit coffee and transitioned to vegatarian diet two years ago. I look years younger than my age, have huge amounts of energy and my ability to focus is off the charts. I walk 10km (6mi) everyday day. It takes months for your body to adjust to intermittent fasting so be patient and disciplined. I started with 16:8 years ago and then move up to 20:4. Good luck y'all.
I tried keto and carni and find it so tough on my digestion, I did the 20hrs last night and broke my fast with beans and some veg, then after an hour a carnivore meal with small amounts of veg (Hyper carni) today Carnivore again, I find I cant get past the 3 day mark and miss vegetables so much and have to add in veg and friuts and beans and small amounts of bread and tiny amount of bread, my gut bacteria I feel pull me back to this diet, a kind of med diet
.... you can't eat whatever u want... yet you choose literally the less nutrient dense diet possible... one without complete amino acids.. meat is necessary for a healthy body peroid.
The 2 hour window is exactly what I do. Its very difficult to eat 2000+ Calories of Healthy Food in a one hour. Great content đđ»
oh my gosh 7 YEARS.....well done
Ya I call bs on that .. look at his beginning videos
@@ReelandRealInspirations What exactly is in his earlier videos that makes you think that?
I applaud those who are diciplined enough to do OMAD!! I typically have a protein smoothie in the late a.m. and then dinner in the evening. I enjoy learning from your videos though đ !!
That's the thing, it takes no effort, i snacked every two others before, was fat, insulin resistance, high bloodpressure, i could not have potato chips at home or any sweats becaus i would end up eating all of it throughout the day.
But doing OMAD is the easiest thing i've ever done. It's 100 times easier to do than Keto, i can only do keto for a month, never been able to do it more. But OMAD is not even an effort, thats why it's sustainable. When you start out it's hard the first week. after that it's easy
Dr. Nick love your kitchen!!!! Thanks for sharing what you eat đ
Wow I needed to see this!! I will definitely be sharing this with my hubby and dad!đđœđđœđđœđđœđđđ
Thank you Dr. Nick very helpful video.
That was helpful, thank you
Great video - very succinct, with great information!
my final year of uni is starting and my mind feels clouded and I'm basically addicted to waffles and cake and am ALWAYS tired. I've done OMAD before and it has worked like a charm to improve my health overall. went downhill after something devastating happened to me, gonna get back to my usual self and hopefully improve my mental clarity and physical health!
Thank you so much for this. You gave me a lot of missing information about OMAD. I knew something was off with what I was doing. Going to restart with your plan thanks!
Glad it was helpful! You got this!
Very informative!
Definitely gonna try itđ
Omad is one meal a day I ate that way for five years I lost 140 ponds been keeping it off I do eat very healthy
Thank you Dr. Z for this video. Having a plan is good and sticking to it takes a strong mind.
I am only 3:37 minutes into the video and Iâm already LOVING what Iâm hearing!!!
i eat all i want but strictly for one hour. omad is life changing!
I've just started OMAD and I love it. However, I'm definitely a good eater. I have been eating healthy foods for years. I'm doing OMAD specifically for my weight issues
Doing omad keto for autophagy.
Didn't think I could eat so much food once a day but it's so much better than staying bloated binge eating.
You dont need to do to keto for Autophagy, you could exercise during the fast and drink herbal teas that help with autophagy then eat a vegan meal and, I think I saw a study where 5 days fasting plus 6 months Mediterranean diet beat a whole 6 month keto diet in blood markers.
While Iâm one of those that do believe I can eat what I want, I found that evolved into wanting to eat healthier. It seemed to happen naturally as the body knew what it needed. I never have cravings or headaches.
Can't wait to see it, good luck with that
7 years ! Respect ! â€ïž I have been on IF for a short while. I do 19-20 hours comfortably. I want to do OMAD but my problem is i canât have a lot of food in one sitting :( love all your videos !

Why is that?
Eat over 2-3 hours then fast
Great! Thanks mate!
Awesome video đŻ

What made me transition to OMAD is because I gained weight and I couldn't stop burping at night. So I stopped eating after 2pm. I eat a big lunch and I'm good for the day.. I don't get food coma anymore in the afternoon because I also had to cut out carbs so I could leave more room for nutrient dense foods. Feel so much better.
I left the sugar it was the best thing I ever did
I drink black coffee with no sugar Iâm so happy ty Iâm a OMAD
Great info. Thank soo much. What brand of tortilla do you use.
I do omad mostly when my training load is lower or at lower intensity.. More training I will mix it to suit so usually 2.. Love it
OMAD truly worked for me. Of course I slacked off the last few weeks. Iâm starting back today. I have my smoothie later on the day (I donât drink it at work bc it flows through me or Iâll have it on the weekends since Iâm home).
ThaThank you doc because of you l don't take sugar with my tea.the way you said in your other video that sugar make us have cravings.....and l have no cravings now just over a month. đđto you
I do one meal a day for 2 months now and Iâve learned that your body can handle lots of food in one sitting.
I cook for my self now I donât buy food anymore and some times I eat after 26 hours itâs crazy but I just feel good about this it works great for me shouldâve started this years ago.
Hello there. Are you still on OMAD? What time are/was you eating?
Thats 3 meals in one-? So you just eat it all at once!?...
Good videođđđ I've been on OMAD for two months and have lost 20 lbs. Like you I exercise almost every day and need to eat normally and until am fill or I'll start to get dizzy and feeling sick ....also I have to keep my carbohydrate intake to at least 50% of the meal and make sure I don't skip the salt(this seems to help relieve the dizziness)...I know everyone is different and this is what is working for me .....
How do you have energy to do exercise during the day if you have not eaten that day?
@@SciSciToys drink broth/coffee/tea and lots of water ...making sure you eat till your full, when you have your one meal for the day ....
Thanks a lot helpful đ

I used to do low carb Omad 2 years back and lost 10 kgs in 1.5 months .. but then I got married and now have a baby so I gained a lot now Iâm planning to do Omad again it worked for me once hope it will work again đ
Refreshing take. I'm kind of tired of reading in the comments sections of OMAD videos people bragging how they are only eating 500 calories (or less) per day on OMAD-every day. That's not sound, not healthy, and I can't help but wonder where they are going to end up long term. I don't need as many calories as you, however, which is fortunate because I cannot imagine being able to eat all that food! I'm definitely somewhere in the middle, and I have just finished my 8th day on OMAD and coincidentally have balanced my macros just like you suggest. Hoping this works out for me!
Thanks for this video! How do I calculate what my maintenance calories or slight deficit calories for weight loss should be?
Very interesting video! How and how much the experts actually eat!
I do low calorie OMAD 5 days a week and cheat on the weekends. This has really worked for me. I cheat on the weekends to be able to enjoy foods I love while still losing weight. I'm not as healthy as the Dr. here and I don't drink coffee, but I know this OMAD diet is working. I wasn't sure at first because I was watching the scale. It seemed like pounds were coming off suoer slow, but when I tried on some pants and bras that had not fit for YEARS they were fitting! If I feel hungry during the day, I have 1/2 or a full Atkins shake around noon and then eat around 6 or 7 (I get home sometimes a little late). My husband thinks I'm starving myself, but I don't feel sick or dizzy and I don't feel like I'm ready to eat a horse at the end of the day. YES, discipline is key, but I treat my weekends as something to look forward to which helps keep me focused during the week. If you want to try this diet, DO! If you think it would be too hard, start slow. Eat 2 meals a day instead, they do have other versions like eating every 7 hours or 4 (you'll want to look that up).
Last night I had frozen hash browns with onions and peppers cooked in spray oil, a slice of toast with spray butter, 2 scrambled eggs and 2 Serve n' Ready sausages= 550 calories. I ate slow and felt very satisfied all night. Another night I had almost a whole bag of mixed greens with low calorie raspberry dressing, crumbled blue cheese and sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and crab raisins and a slice of the frozen french bread = 600 calories. Do what's healthy and best for you, but tailor it so you can enjoy it too.
I lost 4kg in 4 days on raw vegan diet, I stopped as I craved fat but its interesting, I did Keto for a similar time but maybe lost 1kg, McDougal cooked starch I gained weight after a week.
I lost 30kg in 3 months in the year 2000 drinking sugary teas all day no friuts or veg, noodles at noon and steamed buns in the am, bread and small amount of meat 3 x a week, my body was getting constant carbs hence energy, I felt I had energy all day and this allowed me to walk for an hr or so a day, Ive done keto and carnivore and feel sluggish and little energy, no insulin spikes of course, but no get up and go feeling.
Venus Delcambre you didn't hit plateau doing it this way.
so far you are the only one that said to eat healthy for the meal, as others on IF or omad would say they eat anything they want which contradicts the idea of why we are doing it to be healthy and prevent diseases
What wraps did you use for the steak fajitas?
I love OMAD đ„°đ„°it is really working đđ
What do you normally eat?
I could never eat that much as a woman. You're blessed to be able to eat that much. That would be an every other day meal for me and it might still be too much food.
Omad has been the best thing everrr. Only win for me.
This is so crazy, I've been eating something like this over 10 years ago. I followed Ori Hofmekler it was called the Warrior Diet.
Hi. Not sure if I missed it in your video but wondering what time of day this meal is eaten. I know you said you work out in the morning-Iâm assuming you lift weights. So Iâm wondering if your meal is close to finishing your workout, as I know weâve always been told we need to have something within an hour of weight training. Thanks for any input.
I lost some weight with omad at mid 2021, but I had to stop for some time because it stopped working for me. I'm gonna try again now. I'm a week into it but I don't know if I'm losing weight because I don't have a scale here. I think I might be overeating, so now that I've satisfied some cravings I had I think I'll be able to eat cleaner.
Edit: It stopped working because I lost my appetite due to summer and hot weather, not because I stopped losing weight. Omad does work.
1 hr of window eatin' sometimes ain't enough.. modification is the key, made it 2-22, 22 hrs fastin',2 hrs feastin'... perfect.
Are you still able to lose weight eating in a 2-hour window?
@@BeingBetter yes, i was able to reach my minimum weight/height by doin' it. 2-22 is actually perfect... just focus n healthy foods and calories.
@@james7751 awesome, thanks.
That's exactly what he said at the end of the video
Great video sir , if you can kindly make a video for skinny people how to gain healthy weight with diebities
I would love some ideas of about how many grams or ounces of veg, protein, and fats.
Respect to you for doing this for 7years, Great!!
I couldn't do keto for that long, no wonder you need electrolytes, I think the kidneys will be dumping salt etc after a certain period - if you did a quality carb OMAD you'd be able to do 1600 to 2000 and build muscle and maintain it as well, I tried this kind of Carni with more fat than normal for a few days and it trashed my digestion, I have hiatal hernia and acid reflux problems, sparkling water give me reflux, coffee as well unless there is some milk to bind the coffee somewhat, we all have different bodies of course or disease processes going on I suppose, I also have depression/anxiety and dont seem to do well with low carb, I feel much better when I have a decent amount of carbs.
I'mve recently started OMAD and it's going cery well ! I'd like to know for a 59 year old woman who needs to loose 35 pounds... what is the calory intake to aim for ? Hope to get an answer !! I need the advice ! đ
1200-1400 to lose weight
Thanks
The reason why some of us eat less calories itâs because we feel so full after the first bite , impossible to finish all that food in 2 hrs .
Saaaaaame
Same here , after the second bite I'm full and I can never finish my usual plate.
I add healthy fat to my meal
Thank you for your inspiring video. I have been trying to lose just 8 lbs for the past 3 months and the weight keep swinging back and forth because I snack so much throughout the day.
You got this!
Just do IF then.
My mind is working way better on keto and omad
My problem with OMAD is that I cannot eat the meal that you show because half of that amount would fill me up so there is simply no way that I can personally consume all the types of healthy foods and the needed amounts in just a single meal.
Yes, thatâs the point⊠eat until you are full and starve for 23 hours
@@divyasrirajyala6517 Well, I eat until I'm full but I don't feel like I'm starving in the following hours. Last week I fasted for 72 hours and there were times I felt an appetite, but never starving.
Do 2mad......eat a soup or smoothie... Which will prepare your stomach for food.... Then an hour later have your big meal.
do it 22/2 instead... works for me...
Perhaps add more *healthy fat?
Dr. Zyrowski I donât have a gallbladder can I do the Omar diet?
Do you have any advice for speeding up digestion. I successfully lost 100 pounds doing omad 3 years ago and eventually gave up and gained 50 lbs back because my stomach was so uncomfortable. It felt like my body was incapable of digesting that large of quantity of food at once. I've tried everything and omad is the only thing I've had success with but the bloating and constipation from eating soo much was not sustainable. I take a daily probiotic as well
Dr. I have no gallbladder can I do the one meal a day plan?
Dr. What's your opinion on having a glass of red wine with my omad about 2/3 times per week! I eat pretty clean(whole foods) but I enjoy my red wine with some meals.
Depends on what your health goals are, and what you are trying to accomplish!
As long as your doing OMAD you should be fine ...
I wanna do this after Ramazan inshalah†I have done 16/8 window I wanna try OMAD for one month
Iâm a 270lb bodybuilder, but Iâm no longer competing. How can I still get in my protein ?
Iâve been doing OMAD for a month combining it at times with alternate day fasting and Iâm finding it difficult to consume all the foods needed to make sure Iâm eating balanced and healthy. I could NEVER eat the amount of food he has in front of him. That amount would probably feed me for a week. My stomachs shrunk so much that I feel sick if I eat too much. đ«
I've added healthy fat to my meals and it helps
Use nutrient dense foods to fill you up
I just eat until I'm full it's not alot, your stomach shrinks on omad so I don't force myself. I go with what body is telling me. Everyone is different it's good to listen to other people's experiences but you don't have to follow that. Do what works for you.
My problem is I canât eat all that food. Itâs just too much. I eat two meals a day now. Iâm still barely hitting 1300 calories most days.
Do you take vitamin or mineral supplements?
My first omad today, I usually don't eat breakfast so decided to extend my first (and now only) meal time to 7pm from 1pm. I am 28 and 5ft 9", I play quite a lot of sport but not as much as I used to. Today I did 5aside football at lunch with workmates, then when I got home I prepped my food and did 50 low squats, 35 pressups, 2min glute bridge and 1.5min plank. Then I ate a 8oz steak, a good sized fillet of salmon, some white fish (1 fillet of haddock) and 2 roasted sweet potatoes. I also had 1 large carrot, a large portion of cucumber, an apple, a banana, lots of cheddar cheese and some crackers. Is this enough variation and calories for me do you think?
I actually found that I seemed to be putting on weight doing this and research I did led me to believe I was actually destroying my metabolism so I stopped :/
I did Omad before I even knew what it was.
I started OMAD keto a few days ago and I'm so nervous I'm doing things wrong :( my grocery list has the following: chicken breast, pork, bacon, spinach, broccoli, greek yogurt, cucumbers (lots of it), white aged cheddar, mozzarella, olives (a few), eggs, white fish. I tried to do my research as good as I could but I'm afraid I'm missing something lol
Sounds good to me! This video may be helpful too -->czcams.com/video/33NSj0PRaFM/video.html
I recommend apple cider vinegar.
Does it matter at what time of the day you eat that one meal?
Are you supposed to eat 1 time in that 23:1 window until full? Or eat then wait 45 min and eat again? As long as you stay in the one hour eating window?
Dr. I couldnt eat all that at one setting if I tried.
I wonder if it's ok to eat less if I'm not that hungry and eat a little more the next day, I assume "daily intake" doesn't have to be exactly daily, but I can balance it over a couple days or a week, or can I?
I want to see you eat all thatđł
Looks like a lot of food.đ
I do Omad but I canât eat all that! I usually have a bowl of food and iâm stuffed. I try to eat lots of veg. Iâm probably not eating enough but i have days where I eat twice a day
that's what I was thinking, that's a lot of food!
Does it matter in what order you eat your food? There is another nutritionist that says you have to start with lean protein 15-30 minutes before your meal otherwise you're spiking your blood sugar too quickly which can be damaging....
I am very interested in trying this, I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus and Celiac Disease in fact last year I had to have a portion of my intestine removed because of having Celiac and not knowing, I also can't tolerate dairy products, so I turned to veganism, I am wondering if this plan would be good for me with my health issues.
It would, the fasting if you get over 16+hrs in of fasting would heal your gut, thats part reason why i do it, as im allergic to gluten and get psoriasis rash if i eat the stuff.
@@Gunter_Severloh You have to be careful what digestive issues are impaired, by skipping meals you put pressure on your stomach and gallbladder, bile stasis can happen and gallbladder attacks especially if fat meals are eaten to break the fast.
I actually find doing omad easy. But I eat a sh.t load of food for one meal plus working out for like 2-3hrs every day 7 days a week. When I was eating 3 meals I found working out for 1hr a week was so hard.

I think a lot of people are scared, they think they'll keel over if they don't eat 3 meals a day plus snacks. But when you eat Keto foods, & give up Sugar, you feel fuller for longer. It's also easier if you ease yourself into it. Lol.

Will being in a large calorie deficit (eating ~1100-1200 calories a day) for a month be enough to damage your metabolism? Something happened and Iâve been struggling to eat everyday for around a month (obviously am working on it!) and Iâm worried Iâve already ruined my metabolism, or is a month not too detrimental and I havenât really done much damage to my metabolism yet?
Yes it takes around 4 weeks to adapt to new calorie regime.
Just start increasing your calories by 200 cals every week to get to your maintenance calories
If you do OMAD then no it wont ruin it, if anything it will get better, however this depends on your weight, if you are skinny then it can be hamrful, if you are overweight there is no problem.
Do you eat that amount of food in 1 hour ?
Thatâs really a lot of food. đđœ
That looks like a lot of food lol! Iâm watching this as I eat my one meal for today (Itâs my 24 hour fast day today)
Awesome. I think I am going to start fasting on the weekends.
i have been doing OMAD for almost 4 weeks now. but i do have the Problem that i can not eat enough in that time. i think i stoped loosing wight allready. now i am thinking about going on 18/6 with 2 meals for a while instead and maybe then try again with OMAD. because crashing my metabolism is the last thing i want to do.

Hi there, what are your thoughts on alcohol? I love red wine and I don't want to give it up.....is it ok to still have 2-3 glasses of red wine during a week and still be able to lose weight and build muscle? (No, I do not do OMAD, but do intermittent fasting occasionally)
Curious what your take on it this would be? Thanks for your info.
You can still be success in losing weight and building muscle however, it may not be as efficient with alcohol consumption

What are your thoughts on carb cycling and OMAD? I'm looking to change up my diet and routine because I'm ready to lose a little more weight but I also want to do it for the health benefits of fasting and such.
