OMAD is the best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve lost 115lbs in a 14 month time span, lost skin tags, I could literally feel my body healing itself. My BP and blood sugar levels are better then my athlete friends. My muscle growth has been insane cause I only workout while fasting and my gains are higher the my athlete friends. Quality of the one meal is absolutely crucial. Great info Doc as always.

I do one meal a day and BARELY feel hungry in the mornings and afternoons. I ONLY eat dinner at or around 6pm. I've been doing this now consistently for about 8 years. I feel if I eat lunch, I get hungry rather fast which could lead to binge eating or overeating. I BARELY do breakfast because I just don't feel hungry in the mornings. I think it's TOO early to be eating anything right after you wake up in the morning. Instead, I do green tea, take ACV or some herbal brew and am GOOD TO GO!!!

What I like best about OMAD is that it is extremely sustainable. Extended fasting is hard, and yes, I've done it for 36 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 7 days, and even 21 days, but too often you have to psych yourself into it and then struggle through the boredom and the hunger. Not so with OMAD.

@@richardlawson6787 not true man I recently learned from jay vincent you've got to put your muscles to absolute failure then rest atleast 2 days if not 3. It depends on how hard you hit heavy weights. Also depends on your body's ability to completely recover. Your muscles have to recover completely even if u only workout to failure twice a week that's fine atleast then you know ull be gaining muscle if u train to frequent. Than your like scrapping your hands if u wanted to get calases and if u train the next day ur just scraping the little build of callas u just made. If u start to build muscle in that 24 hrs after complete failure and u train that day ur not gonna fully recuperate so your just spinning your wheels. You have to train to complete failure and he learned you can do that with one set. Yea it sounds crazy Study what he sais he's a guy that knows what he's doing. So you do one set to complete failure or since your a beginner I am as well I barely discoverd this about 2 months ago. We do 2 sets to failure of all the exercises in are workouts. And that comes quicker with heavy weights if you prefer to do pull-ups and push-ups. Than you will get to failure eventually but I'm pretty sure that'll take you alot of reps. Then you rest for atleasr 2 to 3 days. Check the guy out man once I found out that you can get jacked working out twice a week with one set to failure I checked it out forsure.

After watching this video and it occurred to me that I stayed thin all those years BECAUSE I only ate OMAD! It wasn’t until I strayed away from OMAD and began eating 3 square meals a day, that my weight became an issue. All the benefits listed here are facts. Most people who try OMAD fail because they usually feel faint and weak early on - but you gotta push through that until your body adjusts. I started with 16 hours which I found hard, then after a few months I felt comfortable with it, then I took it up to 20 hours fasting - now I just eat a massive salad first and main meal. The benefits of OMAD are remarkable and as the months go by you will notice more and more benefits and positive changes in your body. Most people just dont have the discipline so my recommendation is to start with 12 hours fasting, then one month later go up to 13 hours and continually increasing it by 1 hour a month.

I was recently diagnosed with a fatty liver. I was also overweight, and also had high blood pressure. I did the one meal a day for a month and my liver is now back to normal, I have lost over a stone in weight (13.5 stones to 12.1 stones), and my blood pressure is now back to a healthy reading. I also feel a lot better with more energy. I have a treadmill at home and can run for longer and I am not out of breath at the end. I am also saving money and watch what I eat. I make what I eat count. The first week was hard as my body adjusted to not having regular meals, but after a week I didn't feel hungry. I drank a lot of water throughout the day. This worked for me but may not work for everyone and may also be dangerous. get some medical advice before giving it a try. I BELIEVE THE ONE MEAL A DAY IS THE ANSWER TO AN OVERWEIGHT SOCIETY AND A LOT OF THE PROBLEMS THAT COME WITH THAT.

Keto was my jump start but I’m so much happier now and I know it’s really good for my gut Health, autophagy, hormones, etc. I look like a freaking marathon runner! I’m not trying to toot my own horn, but I was always overweight my whole life and since starting OMAD along with exercise and a healthy diet I have lost all the weight I needed to lose. I still catch grief from my friends and family who don’t understand the science behind fasting. I am very small but I am healthy. They think I have an eating disorder. I will keep doing me and I guess I’ll have to deal with everyone and their comments, but it’s bothersome.

I have been doing OMAD for a week now and I don’t want to go back to “regular” eating. It feels so natural to eat in a two hour window - I eat from 4-6pm - and I haven’t struggled with it yet. PLUS i workout (HIIT usually) for 35 minutes in the morning then do manual labor (farming) for 8 hours! And I’m much more energized! I used to get headaches and light headed ness from not eating, but I feel like my blood sugar has healed itself. My digestion has improved too.

Great video !! I been struggling with binge eating and I over indulge last week , I eat really bad and in excess . Last night I had pain on my left side in a organ I never fell pain before. Today I eat just once a day to give my body the rest it needs and I don’t want to feel the way I felt yesterday so I hope I can stick with one meal a day making it healthy from now on.

I’m a big proponent of health and fasting but autophagy has also been shown to proliferate certain cancers. Autophagy cleans up the mitochondrial dysfunction in some cells, it’s intracellular. It’s not a process that just “gobbles up cancer cells.”

Many people on OMAD seem to be eating whatever they want for that one meal but just not overdoing it, and they say they're still getting great results, even with a cheat/splurge day once a week. If this really is true then this is the most amazing plan ive ever heard of.

I actually got turned onto 16:8 by way of watching Joe Rogan. I was doing that for about 1.5 years then the pandemic hit. I continued but about the 2 year mark I naturally gravitated to a 20:4. Again, the idea introduced by way of Joe Rogan but I researched it a bit further and my lifestyle adapted to it quite easily after the 16:8 conditioning. OMAD is quite new to me. Again, literally my cravings and hearing people I admire (Lex Fridman) talk about it just simply allowed me to mentally and then physically adapt and adopt the behavior. I think it helps promote, if not cause, an endogenous positive outlook. Probably as a result of looking and feeling better.

I highly recommend intermittent fasting for everyone, I stick with OMAD personally. I do tend to keep that to myself though, because a lot of people are ignorant to fasting and would push their negative opinions on you.

I have been practicing OMAD for one year now and truly love this way of eating more than anything I have ever tried. It simplifies my life, and I have lost over 50 pounds on OMAD effortlessly.
My only question for you would be the autophogy claim.
I have always been under the impression that autophogy doesn’t begin until the 24 hour mark. So that would make autophogy out of the question for someone who eats OMAD.

I am doing OMAD now since 4 years and it is one of the best health and life decisions I ever took (beside breathing exercises and ice cold showers). Made me curious, too, about adding longer fasting periods to my continuing OMAD scheme: Last December I started a schedule whereby each week I leave out one OMAD (i. e. 47 hours pure water fast) and do furthermore a 5-7 day pure water fast per any month. So far it is working very well and I am sticking to it. But I am wondering if I could and should still add one 20++ days water fast per year, to get the many benefits attributed to this kind of fasting (e. g. Dr. Goldhamer). Does it sound obsessive, any advice?
