I use an old spyderco salt series with H1 steel. and of course standard penny cutters and a line cutter.

I have 2 different sized spyderco salt series knifes (H1=Hydrogen instead of Carbon = Rustproof). One (ASSIST SALT™ FRN YELLOW) is a full sized brightly yellow, foldable rescue knife, with a blunt tip, serrated edge, detractable glass crusher and whistle holes. The other one (LADYBUG™ 3 SALT™ HAWKBILL FRN YELLOW) is a really small, brightly yellow, foldable with claw shaped serrated edge blade. The knives are expensive, but at the same time, their made for SALT.

I had a Titanium Aqualung Squeeze. Quite a good knife but then I became aware of some fishing nets having a steel core in the thread and switched back to good old steel. even if rusty it still cuts better than tintanium.

They also don't offer the safer sheep's head club point in Titanium 😔

LC200N, rust proof nitrogen steel, and H1 that is absolutely rust proof but doesn't hold it's edge as well.

TOTTALLY missed H1 steel. Never rust steel. Look it up, Spyderco H1..
Oh oh!! NEW DIVE KNIFE ANYONE?
Rinse it with salt water to clean it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤓🤓🤓♟️
H1 steel has had most of its carbon replaced by Nitrogen, as its named H1.
Only Spyderco makes it. Y'all need to UP your Knife game.

I love my H1 salt. but I think the new salt series is using something even newer than H1?

Can you explain what to do when/if rust actually has started to appear on the knife?

    • @YouTube_user3333
      @YouTube_user3333 Před 2 lety +1

Wet n dry sandpaper, fine grit
      Vinegar

The squeeze line of knives from aqualung are in my experience very rust resistant. I have a micro squeeze on my kitesurf harness that I didn't rince in over two years: no rust at all.
    You can't beat titanium, though.
My main complain about dive knives is that they're butterknife-sharp out of the box. No company ever produced a really sharp dive knife, exept maybe Spyderco with its salt series.
The secondary V-edge is always butchered on dive knives, and if you really want a sharp tool, you need to spend some time on water stones.
My current dive knive is a wildsteer kraken in N690CO steel. Not stainless, but high quality steel I could really bring out to a decent sharpness. It wasn't awesome out of the box, but after sharpening it correctly you could shave yourself with it. Plus the sheath is actually secure (not like the scubapro TK15, a piece of crap that rusts instantly and that you get to lose if you don't modify the locking mechanism. Yep, I lost one of those 130 euros bad boys)

    Molybdenum - Mo - lib - dee - num! 😃 Nit-pick - ceramic isn't really a metal, it's a form of porcelain!

Buy the cheapest knife you can get away with. No one likes losing knives but it’s very common.
