Actually it was true I read in a mopar magazine that covered the event. The road was wet and the car fishtailed a lot. The owner was on set and nearly had a heart attack after that happened. He switched out a few front pieces, he was half expecting something would happen he said in an interview.
I grew up watching these guys every time it came on and got all the cool toys that they had out at the time ,if you look close at my blood cells they got a rebel flag on top of them
Que buena !!! Tiempos inolvidables que retornan para hacernos felices, felicitaciones por el trabajo a todos quienes hicieron posible esta producción. Saludos desde Quilpué Chile
The only crime with this commercial is that they traded the General for a Viper in the commercial. I think a Challenger would've been a more appropriate choice.
@@denardis23 I'm personally not a fan of the new Charger design, but I wouldn't be against personally owning one either. But yea, the Viper was a bad choice for the General.
@@WilleJamesHuff . So wouldn't have anything to do at all with legal requirements. I know not all states in the US require seatbelts to be used. Personally I never drive without using them and I'd already be gone if I didn't
@@MartintheTinman for a car that had lap belts in the front yes this is kind of funny. PC folks watching couldn’t see that they have lap belts on so to save the criticism they made some fake shoulder belts
@@WilleJamesHuff . Just outta curiosity, how old are you? I grew up in the non PC World and it wasn't that great. Did you have to endure physical violence from your teachers on a daily basis? Luckily my parents didn't go to church because they preferred a different type of abuse for children.
You REALLY have to give the film crew an enormous amount of credit! They shot this whole commercial and managed not to get even just ONE CORNER of the giant Confederate flag on the roof in any shots whatsoever. Why cave to a bunch of crazy screaming weirdos!! Show the damn flag!!!!!!
To and this wasn’t made a year later for the debut of the Charger and challenger Hellcat it would have been epic to market the Hellcat using the dukes of hazzard.
The Dukes of Hazzard for me is an 80s Show I know what it's about I wish they would bring it back on TV I also have the DVDs I still watch them everyday hoping one day I would have then General Lee Dodge Charger 1969 but I know I cannot if you like this comment check it out if you like and let me know what you think of it and the TV show
I grew up in Scotland and loved this show as a kid in the 80s - used to be on Saturday tea-time - I fell in love with The General (and Daisy, obviously) - there were no cars like that in the UK or anywhere in Europe, so to us that Old Charger was cooler and more exotic than any Lambo, Ferrari or Aston Martin.....still is.
Tom Wopat isn’t the biggest fan of Dukes. He’s said, that was a LONG time ago…I’ve done other things! John on the other hand relishes it! Be like John.
YEE HAW!!! I did how ever see a small almost unnoticeable mistake, Bo shifts into reverse with the shift lever on the steering column when the lever used on the show was always on the floor between the seats.
The show was a cultural icon but I doubt it will be reborn with a new cast today on tv. These political clowns will like to do away with the rebel flag and general lee which are part of history anyways.
I agree. The flag was not "offensive" 20 years ago. Here is an interesting fact. Robert E. Lee did not own slaves. But Grant did. So by that logic, every Union statue should be torn down as well.
I highly doubt the original cars from the original show were damaged.
copykon Hahaha, Yep: You're Exactly Right, I'd say. Thanks a Million for uploading Friend!!!
copykon that was bitchin
Spencer Bishop Hahaha, Sure was.

They used replicas for the stunts and the real deal one for thedriving
I grew up watching these guys , thank you for all the memories, very good show

Crazy to think that the show is well over 50 years old and still has a southern charm worthy of warming your heart
It's not over 50. It's just over 40years old. 1980

I never saw the 2014 revival but Waylan must have been watching and gave his approval
You gotta admit, seems like those two never age.
Yeah they look like they could do another season easily. They've aged well.
Must be the car did that

Looking for this. Yes, should have used a new Challenger NOT a Viper.
@@denardis23 I'm personally not a fan of the new Charger design, but I wouldn't be against personally owning one either. But yea, the Viper was a bad choice for the General.
I think they made a sequel of sorts in where they returned the viper.
A hellcat charger
The crime is trading the general at all.
0:48 That stunt double for Tom looks just like him! Wow.
But John's....someone, at least, get the guy a wig!

Andrew Mason come on. 300 wrecked for the thousands built. look harder ffs they are not that rare. Just fucking expensive
Surely 3 Legends, no?

Rosco was dead
They damaged a lot of cars including the 69 chargers
