Welcome to the non touristic area of Marrakech, Morocco. Today we are walking in an area called Bab Doukkala Market. In sharp contrast to the popular Djemaa El-Fna, this it's a real life market used by locals. Let's walk to discover the true colors and secret soul of Marrakech, one of the four Royal Cities of the Kingdom of Morocco.

There are three very distinctive areas in Marrakesh: one is the Old Medina (old city) where most tourist are. The second area is Ville Nouvelle or Gueliz and it belong to the modern Marrakesh with some European style and the third area is where locals buy things like spices, chicken, fruits, clothes, etc. Marrakech it's a city to be explored so, If you wanna walk, everything can be seen on foot but a GPS is key.

This is a great area to understand better the traditional old culture of this country. Can be quite intimidating at first but, embrace the madness, relax and enjoy this fascinating place where you can buy anything you want and try all the foods. Remember, sellers usually start with a ridiculous price because they expect to bargain with you. This is a new experience on all the senses, the noise, smells and sights, the narrow passageways, the pollution from the motor scooters. It's wonderful! Remember to have an open mind!

How do you say it: Marrakech or Marrakesh? Don’t worry, both are okay! Marrakech Morocco in 4K by Wanna Walk - The common English spelling is "Marrakesh" and "Marrakech" in French is also widely used. I was told that the name Marrakech comes from the words amur kush which means "The Land of God." This is the third largest city in Morocco with less population than Casablanca and Fez. The city lies near of the Atlas Mountains and it's pretty close to the Sahara Desert. Be sure to also visit the square of Jemaa El-Fna is very popular, in particular in the Marrakech's night. Lovely atmosphere at night in Gueliz, vibrant and very safe.

Being a foreigner means you'll pay more. The Koutoubia Mosque is right besides Djemaa El-Fna. The minaret of the mosque very popular and visible from almost all the city. As with most mosques in Morocco, non-Muslims are not allowed inside.

I don't understand that morocco is "not an Arab country" because it is only the rif region can consider itself non Arab the rest of Morocco is arab. You get to learn Arabic in school, all official documents passports etc are in Arabic, the parliament is Arab and it still is a "non arab country"? like 80% identifies as arab and not as amazigh/Berber. I proudly identify as Arab. علاء العال المالك🇲🇦❤️. And btw what do you use as your camera? I like your videos, greetings from Casablanca.

With that pathetic logic , everyone who speaks Spanish is from spain , and btw Darija has nothing to do with arabic , if it did , why the Middle easterns don't understand at all ! we may have lost our amazigh language , but we are still North africans , Embrace your true identity , and stop kissing saudi's asses ,

You started the video in what we call it _El Swiqa dial Bab Doukkala_ which means the street-marketplace of the Doukkala gate. Then you tuned left towards _Arset Al Hamd_ (lemon garden) after that you entered one of the gates outside the old city where you made a long walk in gueliz around the buses station.

Can someone explain why random locals who aren't even shop owners, private property owners, police, or some famous guy’s bodyguard tell people with cameras “no photo, no photo” even when the camera guy is pointing the camera at an empty crosswalk out on a main road? Are they just trying to engage the guy in a conversation to scam him or are they actually serious about this?
