At 14.20 Jairam Ramesh said PVN does not have any opposition within and outside the party
At 19.56 he again said PVN does not have support from Congress and other outside parties...
A congress party leader disowning his own party's PM, This shows PVN has done something right for the nation...
PVN was a great PM but history forgets him because he was not a puppet of GANDHI'S...

The honesty of PV is well articulated in his own writings and speakings. We don't need evaluation from sycophants. He knew what he was guilty of. He had no qualms. why should a true statesman or a patriot be fair to a dynastic party? Is that democratic?
We respect him and be grateful for what he did.

My remarks as a layman. The fruits of the economic reforms unleashed by Sri P V Narasimha Rao and Dr. Manmohan Singh are being enjoyed by us and by the country at large for ages to come. Their contribution is exceptional. In all earnestness, the least that the country could do -despite Babri Masjid demolition (which is a complex issue for which PVN aline cannot be held responsible )- is to award Bharat Ratna to each of them. Surely, when Vajpayee got the award, these people truly deserve it more. Let every right thnkin

What the heck charisma got to do with being a PM? If Indians expect that they are wrong. He was a failure as CM of AP & on many such posts. But as PM he excelled & the world was impressed by his performance. Again the Indian public are stupid, I'd say. You don't use a gold vessel of pot as a cooking vessel or for hauling water from a well. It is meant to be for auspicious occasions, to impress people & hold flowers. I'd say even now Indians could understand him or why he did what. Only they are there to reap the benefits. They conveniently forget the days when they had to wait for 5 years for a mere telephone connection, book for a scooter for another 5 years & no foreign cars on the road as of now.

Sir point to be noted is he was the first cm to have introduced a law for the welfare of poor and against the rich including himself ie;land ceiling act in which his own land has been seized and hence was not favoured by the well off communities in AP. Hence Indira Gandhi replaced him. All he cared for is not his personal reputation but our country and country needs PM like him to let us taste the bitter pill for a better tomorrow. Without considering the majority consensus any privileged for the minority population can any time amount to appeasement.

Excellent presentation. Panellist Vinay Sitapathi is excellent analysis. Godbole an excellent Bureaucrat & Ramesh an eloquent Congressman. When we see in retrospect the tenure of Dr Manmohan Singh the same pressure from Sonia Gandhi as the Extra Constitutional was exerted like a family Mafia of Sicilian tradition. Due to Narasimha Rao Economic Orientation due to IMF directives & Finance Minister Dr Manmohan Singh most congressmen who benefited from the Licence Raj opposed him result he was isolated in the congress & humiliated even when he died. Narendra Modi of BJP in his tenure as PM changed the cotree of MSE & Traders and small retailers of Vachpai & Advani Industry & Technology was given Focus. It started with Defence Services using upgrades as a Tool to leverage the Barganing chip to set up shop in India by TOT with partnering with the Indian Corporate & Govt PSUs complimenting beach other and let Contemprory Technology perculate later and subsequently organise Agricultural products as support services in Defence & upgrade skills in employment. The main point to be noted is that when 20 tonnes of gold reserves of India was mortgaged and the Indian economy had totally deteriorated, it was Mr. Rao who brought about revolutionary changes in the Indian economy and today we are eating the fruits of it. In my opinion, he is the most successful PM that our country has witnessed. Further, he was responsible for eradication of terrorism in Punjab. However, those who did not like to see him as PM tried to make corruptioncharges against him. If he were to be PM for one more term our country would have been another heaven. However, Mr. A.B.Vajapayi, who was a great friend of Mr.Rao walked on Rao's path and succeeded. But our people did not vote Atal ji for one more term. That is the tragedy.

What a great analyst Jairam Ramesh is! Congress should use his talents.
Coming to Rao, I think, he thought Babri was a historic wrong that had to be corrected. If you look at his actions and decisions, you can see that he had a deep sense to right the wrong! Laws are there to to deliver justice and if the laws harm a majority, not applying them is the way of Sri Krishna. He became a statesman when he displayed detachment. That’s mahaprastana! Bhimasena had great strength; Arjuna was shatrapravina; nakula and Sahadeva had special talents. But Yudhishthira prevailed over everyone with wisdom. The young author and the bureaucrat do not have the measure of Rao.

It was different then. PV was running a minority Govt. Every six month BJP would try to put no confidence motion. PV was walking on swords edge. He ran his minority Govt 5 years was a great thing. With all these he reformed India and did a great job, can anyone imagine? I don't think he enjoyed being a PM, rather held his breath every moment and ran the Govt and did reforms for the people. With regards to Babri Masjid, I think he thought the issue would go and BJP would not have any agenda to play if it was demolished. After the demolition he dismissed BJP run UP, MP and HP Govts and Congress came to power in these states. He made the UP state Govt responsible. Due to that Kalyan Singh resigned himself. With regards to Delhi riots though no one will like any kind of killings, imagine the emotional stand of people of India when Mrs Gandhi died? What would have been his mindset at that time losing a leader he loved all along? It was a shock everyone in India. That too she was killed by her own body guard. Now it is easy to comment and give ideas. What happened after the assassination? Congress won with huge majority with sympathy votes. That shows how much it emotionally impacted people.

He let a road for stronger opposition, inspite of knowing sanghs
    agenda and its organisational values,
May be he believed India should go through this Hindu supremacy regime too to become a much real secular state, nothing to lose if it fails?
Whatever it may be,he grabbed the oppurtunity and emerged as a winner,
He spoke a little but did a lot,he pushed congress into a puzzle of religious maze wall, which it is badly fighting now,but nowhere near to crack it!
Inspite of shortcomings there is no doubt congress built the modern India, albeit being swept away in the religious model of sangh in every election!
It’s upto the people of India to choose their path, that is what P.V might have predicted or wished!
    Only time will answer!

Just credit the wily old man late p v NARSIMHA Rao for bringing the economic reforms during the turbulent yrs of 1991 to 1996 which put india back on pedestral . The blue prints of reforms of Sri Subramanian swamy was available with 4 prime ministers before him & they all failed to implement these reforms. Celebrate the life of first non Gandhi prime minister of Indian national congress & atleast now the party should credit & accept his achievements in public .

PV Narashima Rao is undoubtedly the best best Prime Minister of India. These paid stooges are brainless people. They forget NPT, CTBT and so many other reforms.

There is an allegation on PV because of his tacit understanding with BJP, it came to power. If that is the case, then definitely he is a cheater as he is grown with the bread & butter of INC.

Jairam Ramesh forced by congress not to praise PVN Rao. Strange argument. The PM is the leader. If anything goes wrong in cabinet PM is responsible where as if good work done by cabinet credit goes to cabinet minister not PM. Fathu argument by Ramesh.

Jairam Ramesh tried his best discredit THE MAN. He knew exactly what he was doing. He was more intelligent than they all thought. He silenced the allies and opposition when they were going against them with Hawala case. Congress hated him as he was going against the ITALIAN mafia style.
