Looking back, this is one of Sandler's great films, and I mean that with complete honesty. The absurdity of this movie borders on genius - his nonchalance as he gets his hand chopped off, everything serves a purpose.
Diego Sebastian Sandler is actually hilarious when he puts his mind to it and not phoning it in.

When Phantom starting tossing the meat into the kid's meals, I lost my shit.
This is similar to the superhuman things Zohan did though. I don't see why it is so unexpected. It is necessary for him to have a worthy adversary so that the final battle is not one-sided and boring, is it not?

this film is underrated and funny. plus, it had some very poignant commentary on the israeli-palestinian conflict.
