The System is an American synthpop duo consisting of vocalist/guitarist Mic Murphy and seasoned session keyboardist David Frank. The band was founded in 1982 in New York and backed up by Paul Pesco on electric guitar and Kris Khellow - keyboards, synthesizers. Sometimes the group is referred to as an "emotio-electro" band because of their hi-tech, synthesizer-driven sound mated to passionate vocals and sensitive lyrics. - Hudba

The 80s sucked for music. The 70s was way way way better. I love a lot of 80s music, don't get me wrong. But there was so much garbage produced in the 80s. It's the decade of obscure 1 hit wonders for a reason

The System had such a wicked and unique style all their own. I remember them to produce or lend talents to blazers by the likes of Mtume, Chaka Khan, Evelyn King, Angela Bofill, Howard Johnson, to name a few.
You can definitely recognize their signature sound. I was listening to a Howard Johnson album and the production work and the background vocals sounded just like The System. Turns out both members of The System were producers. Do you know of a few more albums they helped produce besides the ones you listed?
Yes! They too produced Phil Collins' smash "Sussudio." Also, the duo collaborated on albums by Jeff Lorber (STEP BY STEP) and Scritti Politti (CUPID & PSYCHE '85).
+maxxdroid1975 Nice! I knew that they had produced for Howard Johnson and Chaka Kahn but that was the extent of the production work that I knew about. I am going to throughly listen to some of their stuff they produced in order to see if their signature sound turns up again. Thanks so much.

+maxxdroid1975 Definitely will. I don't initially associate The System as being one of my favorite bands but after further consideration they probably are. I like all of their albums. I'm surprised they weren't bigger than they were, I thought almost all of their albums deserved the same consideration as Don't Disturb This Groove.
