Love the acid sheet artwork.. Love the guitar tones on this one, thanks for uploading man
I was thinking the same thing too.
That intro effect! I thought I was in for a Floyd show. PF touring DSOTM before the album release and the Dead doing this. An absolute embarrassment of musical riches.
Edited because I forgot the most important part of my comment. Thank you WOS. You bring immense joy into my life with what you do. Very much appreciated.
These December 72 Plain’ jams are some of Jerry’s most intense and dark playing. Fantastic.
Yes, and this 72 Dark Star is also out there.
I wouldn’t describe Jerry’s playing in 72 ~ 73 as dark. 75 & 76 definitely though.
I know what you mean and fully agree - these extended Playin' jams are awesome.
@@doublet630 , absolutely 💯 % agreed ⚡️🌹⚡️
The 9th month is usually September using the standard reckoning of the divisions of the year. But hey I've abolished time and days of the week for all intents and purposes so if u want December as the 9th month I can't argue . In fact I to am gonna make dec the 9th month and call the 12th month Jerryember. If I remember cuz it's just may and I'm all high tonite . Ta-
Beautiful, just goddamn beautiful. And all that incredible music and what hit me most is that 3 chord chugga chugga on the Casey Jones crescendo. Incredible show and thank you once again Wall of Sound for enriching lives
Yeah that three cord chugga was awesome I never heard it played that way before it's fantastic
2nd year in High School.... at a party in the hills. Grateful Dead on the jukebox.... dancing to Europe '72 ... such a joy to hear this recording. thanks to The Mighty Tapers!!!!!!
Sounds amazing thanks. 72 was a helluva year.
Excellent PITB. Right down that piercing scream (?) by Donna toward the end! Fit right in there.
Music is emotional time travel and can transform your mind.
No doubt!!!
scientifically proven, they de-aged some old folks with music from their youth, but shhhh don't tell anyone that is Russian disinfo Reeeeeeeeeee!
You guys post the most amazing dead shows the ads don't even come on till in-between songs I'm forever grateful thanks so much
Among many songs, a beautiful “Bird Song” performance. Thanks for posting! Rest in the stars Pig. Gone 50 years this month.
I got to see pigpen once, at my first Dead show! That bluesy voice was unbelievable! RIP my friend! You gave joy to us all!
@@johnnyfreedom3437 …Love that Pig! Favorite song: either “Operator” or “Mr. Charley”. If I gotta choose one, then “Mr Charley”
The dead were always so good at showing folks in the southland how it's done outside of hollyweed.this is one of the best shows of 72 goddamn
Awesome show, gonna have this one cranked while I bounce around ✌️thanks for the jams ❤️
Just simply fantastic! ‘72 ->long may you run
Wall of Sound I don't know how you do it, but keep 'em coming! Fantastic!

Great Concert, I was there for this one. I for some reason thought that The New Riders of the Purple Sage were there also. But the was 50 plus years ago. I know I was there, I still have my ticket!!!
i think i can speak for the rest of us ,all green with envy !!!
Thanks WoS, another fantastic show. What an awesome picture of Jerry. This a awesome day now! ⚘️💀❤️
Another tasty morsel!!! W.O.S.!! You have Great TASTE !! Nice way to spend an overcast Sunday. Blessings and thank you.❤❤❤❤❤❤💨💨💨💨💨🌧️⛈️🌦️
This show was on the day after the day I was born. Grateful that the 9/9/72 show at Hollywood Bowl is also out there.
What a HUGE change from '71.. my God!! Right out of the gate!! Tight and Jerry must've been bopping around I'll bet!
Yes, very groovy indeed. Thanks for uploading - enjoying the shared experience from a cold wet night in Cambridge.
Cold Rain & Snow; in Cambridge ; )
Really intense and superb Playing in the Band Jam!!
Love the Dark Star too. WOW !!!
I have been bingeing GD shows since the start of crown virus. The sound qual is magical. The band is strong and Jerry plays sweet wah-wah like no other. Can't ask for more. TY
What a gorgeous print ! First time I’ve seen that one but I’m certain for sure even Pepperidge Farm definitely Remembers! 💥👊⚡️⚡️⚡️😎
Hollywood Palladium is a great place to boogie.
Idk that I’d take any of that off white acid but oh boy is that a nice print
I need a miracle
@@rustybeltway2373 It ain't like it used to be. Sigh....
That's like 700 hits that we can see. I remember back in the late 70's getting sheets, 100 tabs, but these sheets came from larger scrolls of 800 tabs in each scroll. I don't think they'll miss one.
Jerry is God. LSD saves.
Not Fade Away
I can’t say anymore to some of those who don’t know what they r talking about !?
Rainy cold and overcast in Louisville Kentucky. This is a case where the music matches the weather. Ran into a rain storm!!!
I read your comment right when Jerry sang it!
my old home town !!
Raised in so central shelby park area, a full on ghetto today, was nice enough in the 70s
Living in Ensenada Mx now.
Bye bye Empire of Chaos !!!
Something, what is it about these 70’s mixes, so much clarity and separation, everyone in their own space? Beautiful, thank you WoS!
The sound on these is just freaking spectacular and egg Sail ant lol love the grateful dead very grateful for all the great music ... Y'all have been the soundtrack to my life ...tyvm !!!
Never miss a Sunday night show!

Ha tuesdays too!
This was the first video to kick start my journey into the cosmos of your channel! Legendary wicked blotter art had to steal that for myself. Thanks for all the awesome tunes! Peace, Love, & Rock N Roll!
Doses art unreal!! love it! and the music just incredible!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!!!!!
Love the intro!!! Thank you once again, WoS!!! You make excellent picks for us all to enjoy! Shout out to Ruth Barret for pointing you in this direction...... 🎉
That GSET solo was so sick, unlike any dead ive ever heard!
Blisteringly Grate!
We’re all very Grateful that y’all were alive when we were. Carry on
Anothe excellent job. Outstanding
This is as epic a Playin as I have ever heard...hard to beat shows from 72 or 77.
That’s the best Truckin’ I’ve ever heard!! Holy smokes!!! Damn that got me fired up! 😃👏🏼🕺🏻

And I was there... They always brought it down at the Palladium.
Rest In Peace Jerry Garcia 🌹🌼🌻🌷🌹
Great sound! Phenomenal Dark Star 🧐
The He’s Gone outro jam is one of my new favorites

The Grateful Dead performed at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on September 10, 1972. The band welcomed friend and collaborator David Crosby for a massive “Dark Star” and more. Today marks what would have been Croz's 82nd birthday.
first show the band played back from across the pond was at the Hollywood Bowl on June 17. GD returned
So the bands return from europe was on my bday ? I'll have to check that one out
thanks susie
"GD returned ..." to LA for this show and the day before in September 72 and again on December 15 in Long Beach. This is the fifth of the seven LA Dark Stars -- at the Shrine 8/23 and 8/24/68, Pasadena 3/22 and Thelma Theater 12/11/69, these two shows, and the Universal Amphitheater 6/30/73

Can you imagine that I have to consider that I might die one day or that I will die one day without having never heard absolutely everything that’s ever been played for by the Grateful Dead that somebody might’ve recorded on some part of the world.
I am so grateful for that. I’m so fucking grateful. Thank you so much for whoever uploaded this.
7:44 in the morning on Saturday already off to a great start
KEEP TRUCKIN
Another brilliant Fall 72 show. Much thanks as always WOS.
Nice artwork! Thanks WoS Nice sets, the first ones near perfect, the second set is equally awesome. In some fantasy land I would have changed the encore to Ripple, or maybe Let it Rock. But that's just me. Thanks again.

Stanley "Mouse" Miller.
Hey Stefan, wishing you a great week and positive vibes your way, take care man 🍀👍😎
Awesome. Awesome. Awesome!!!
Tape speed-up warp in the beginning brings back memories thank you
yes, the perfect start
72’ is my favourite year - close to Spring 77’ but with just a bit more youthful exuberance.
_He's gone..._
My brother loved this song...
... and I love my brother.
Mom and I miss you so much...
Vol. 46 brought me here. I want to hear some freaky Dark Star with David Crosby!
I started listening to the Dead on my 15th birthday when my cool aunt gave me a bunch of shows on cassette tape. I'm 45 now, and I love the Dead more than ever. What is it about '72? That really was one of their best years, without a doubt. Thanks for posting another killer show and that blotter art is terrific!
I’m 44 and got started with a cassette from my uncle back in the day- blessed are the elders who pass it on:).
Dark Star is blowing my mind away from my face + stealing it rite off !
gee, wonder what all those perforations are in that image of Jerry artwork?
Almost like they're meant to be torn off??
😂
There is something positive to find in almost every era of the Dead. But if I was forced to pick one single year of Grateful Dead music, it would be 1972.
i tend to agree with you on 72 , a show such as this is very hard to surpass
Top shelf show. I really enjoy all eras of The Dead but... something about Jerry in the strat, Godcheaux on the keys...
I was at a few of these shows with the wall of sound + it took many trucks to haul all their stuff ! What a trip it was following those big trucks ! I had a blast doing it rite along with them ! ❤️🐰🐇🌹💜👽🪐🛸🚀💥☄️⚡️🥀😂😍🥰😘🤩🥳loved it all !!!
That was in "74 a couple of years after this
I'd Imagine those blotter tabs are good ones 😍 Caution don't take the brown acid ✌️😵💫
Birthday show for me! Thanks for the upload! 😊
I don't care what time of day it is, I don't care what day of the year it is. When I put on the Dead I'm at an outdoor stadium twirling with the crowd! Maybe I'll have a little mushrooms for breakfast!!
WOS, you’re doing the lords work. Thank you.
No he’s doing his work with a lot of others to help him ! That lord had nothing to do with it !
@@Bunbeck-pf9iw the lord has everything to do with everything.
Just starting to paint my house. This will be the perfect soundtrack. Thanks WOS for everything you do
great band, nice blotter.
Beautiful start to a Sunday! Thanks wos!
I was late the party, but wow, just wow. First live Dead song I ever heard in I think PDX 9234?
holly smokes. this is nutso
The graphic here looks wild I love it
Fantastic quality, particularly the vocals
Hell yea man!!!!
this bird song is so incredible
ditto the rest of the show
This is a beauty😍
GREAT SHOW!!! and crosby too!!!!! saw a bunch of shows at the palladium (quicksilver, boz scaggs, steve miller, etc), but had moved to san diego and missed this one 😞. it's a great venue, still going strong...
Copperhead played there, too. Standing there up front, looking up at John Cipollina doing Cobra with those horns on his rig? Wow...
Nice comment Lad. I WAS at that show. I drove and dropped. This is a great recording.
@@gradyfilms2458 saw copperhead in SLO, and they were ok... after quicksilver, hard to match... but we saw cippolina in his prime!
Good grief the vocals on this ramble on Rose is perfect.
Every morning I play a new live set with thanks to your page. My love for The Grateful Dead music found me later in the trip & the rabbit hole is never ending not have having heads for parents. This page has been a much needed & welcomed friend in showing me. Thank you. ❤
The Black Peter and then into Dark Star is incredible.
John, YES!!
Just Absolutely Beautiful ⚡️🌹⚡️
an absolutely amazing black pete
Smokin show 4R 4R! Thanx WOS! Greetings from Annapolis Maryland!❄️🌎❄️❣️😜👌❣️

Wonderful!
I like how the poster is divided up in little squares that can be detached
i took time off from my scene class with lee strasberg to go to this show...high on ecstasy...dancing and yelling "outtasight, play all night" to the band...the give and take of cosmic energy was always a manifestation of grateful dead shows back in the day!
Many thnx from a tired old man. These were great days and it's always more good than good to revisit them.
So. Good. Thank you Wall of Sound!
Another banger! Thanks for all you do, WoS!
Thank you...great effort on your part.
in a lot of ways it's really Billy's band, how he drives the whole thing with the kick drum, he really is a great wonderful drummer
In a lot of ways you are absolutely right. No disrespect to Mickey but he was only an added layer. Billy was the foundation. Incredible talent.
The drummer is the most important part of a group. You can have the best musicians in a band, but with a lousy drummer it won't matter.
Billy's Band ???? 🤔
@@Fictius meaning that he really is in control of it a lot of the time, and not merely keeping 'time', he can make them hover or take off at light speed (im a big fan)
The Grateful Dead died in 1973. Billys band please mate. Ronald is and always will be the soul, heart and fire of the music behind the Dead. Rasta. 🌹
Thanks for kindly sharing!
What a way to wake up! Thank you for the upload! Wonderful!

A few years ago at Bridge Day in WV. Where base jumpers from all over the world plain, gather and spend all day jumping from the New River Bridge.

Edit:
Possibly the best back up of all time,
This is the best sound of any show I can think about at this time because there were so many of them but this is spectacular !!!!
Well, hot damn!!! Barn burner right here ladies and gentlemen. Sound quality is superb, again!! WOS, you've posted another gem for us to enjoy. Plus the visual of the blotter artwork just makes me drool😅 Forever Grateful❤⚡🤍⚡💙
A lot of these dead lovers never experienced the tape era. Crisp sound is always awesone, but then again, the hiss really of a good quality SB drives it home. Ya know. 😊p
What a show. It's as good as Veneta 8-27-72, but without the naked guy dancing on the pole.
Hahaha. That naked dude was ridiculous 😂
IMO, not even close to 8/27/72 but it certainly has it's moments.
8/27/72 is the mountaintop. It defies explanation.
@@andrewtedlow6552 Yes, I'd have to agree for all that went into making Veneta special; Ken Kesey's farm, the great outdoors, the people dancing naked (except for pole guy), that Dark Star...
9/21/72 is another really hot show. 72 was awesome overall.
