In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival of radical and newfound love, leading to what TIME Magazine dubbed a JESUS REVOLUTION. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Saw it last night it was awesome. My husband was baptized by Pastor Chuck 49 years ago. So we had to go see it. Praise Jesus.
Cool for you 🙏
Is the Pastor Chuck still alive?

Pastor Chuck went home to Our Lord in 2013.
This movie is going to be amazing 😀
So you mean this really happened?
I mean, the movie.
I pray this movie brings many more people to the Lord. We need a revival in this land now more than ever.
What we don’t need is a watered down gospel, and yes people can come as they are, but cannot stay that way. “Repentance” is key. Faith and obedience. There is a HUGE mixture going on right now, people standing up for homosexuality, trans etc so on even in the churches it is NOT OK… yeah people absolutely can come out of those things, The Lord heals, delivers, sets free, saves… but most are unwilling to touch on such things running ramped today and are even pushing for same sex marriage in so called churches. Paul, Peter, John and the rest of them would be like WHAT ARE Y’ALL doing!? The Holy Spirit will convict us of sin, change our heart, give us a new one, but these promotions today are of include everyone or else you are awful , I wonder why the true body of Christ was hated, and always put in jail, and stoned, put on a cross, and much more…. Because they did not fit in, and look like the world.
Both are needed. Really repentance. Unfortunately, it's not something that we're allowed to do easily..
We've kind of become turned off because people keep stuffing us under rocks.
It's easier to do it in other countries. Have done it for years
I've been back to California for about a month and it's not so easy. A lot of people don't really care about where their life is going until it's too late
We do need a revival.
….anyways, you were right, it has. From Instagram to tiktok I’ve seen all over people accepting Christ after seeing this movie. The impact is huge and what’s beautiful about this, is that this movies released around the same time the Asbury revival which is now breaking out a cross the nations in many places. Because not only believers heard about the revival, but many unbelievers took notice too, I believe for some, it could be the very reason they had curiosity to see this life impacting movie. :)
Amen.

The acting was seriously good in this. Kelsey Grammar is outstanding.
I typically cringe at Christian films. But this one really set the standard from henceforth. Give us good stories, higher budgets, and great actors and we will spend our hard earned dollars to come see it. This movie was excellent and compelling.
I hope it comes to the UK or on TV, our country needs a revival!
I’m not even a religious man but I admit this was pretty damn moving
Respect brother ❤️
That is a religion should be. Sometimes it doesn’t need to make sense. It just needs to feel right.
You should see what he said before that- it was even more moving. He was able to communicate what they had in common in order to build a connection.

This scene is the most important part in the movement that happened. Kelsey Grammer is so good in this role!
We can only walk trough doors open to us..... that moved me greatly.
This was such a powerful scene to watch.
Reminds me of James 2:1-13
Legalistic Churches and Liberal Churches make the opposite error from each other, but with the same result.
If sin were an open, bleeding wound, the Legalistic Church would turn the bleeding person away at the door because they're more worried about appearance and someone bleeding is just too messy.
The Liberal Church would gladly welcome them in, boasting about how accepting they are of bleeding people.
In both cases the bleeding person's wounds are not treated and they will die!
Quite true that

Great movie!!! Would love to see that kind of revival sweep across this nation today. Lord we desperately need it!
I hope this plays in cinemas in the U.K.
Saw it yesterday.. loved it.. Praise Jesus 🙏
My wife and I saw it last night. Great movie!!
Just got home from watching this movie. It is great. An excellent film with high production quality and acting. Must see
My wife and I saw it this past weekend and we were blown away. It was such an amazing movie and the parallels that we saw from what was happening back then to what is happening today was undeniable. I used to think that The chances of another spiritual awakening was very slim. But today I think the chances are much greater than ever. And I hope that a huge spiritual awakening is the reason why America is not even mentioned in the book of Revelation
God knows the heart. Those who came out of the Jesus Revolution and went on to know Jesus and what his Word teaches did extraordinary things. Those who merely followed another hype did not last - that includes some if its leaders. True searchers must encounter Christ and CHANGE. True for back them and true now. Come all who labor and are heavy laden ( Jesus said) and I will give you rest.

Same, dude.
Amazing movie! Excellent acting, beautifully done, powerful and inspirational. It’s a MUST see.
I was going to a certain church for years and one day a Native American came in with no shirt and sat down. Pastor John began his sermon with something like this. "I'm so glad you've all come together to hear God's word, some of you came dressed appropriately." As he looked directly at the man with no shirt. Long story short, i no longer attend that church.
Not a great way for the pastor to handle it, but still, wear a shirt dude.
I totally thought that the pastor was making reference to the Native American man as having given away his tunic and his cloak, as Jesus had talked about in his sermon on the mount.
I’m sorry to hear, that sounds uncomfortable. I can see both sides. Wear a shirt, but also, if the newcomer’s heart is open, then the pastor’s heart can be open. It doesn’t sound like the Holy Spirit was in that church, at least not that day. Hopefully the man found his enlightenment or connection somewhere else with a more loving and tolerant community. And hopefully the church found a new way in Christ.
Is he still alive this pastor?? If John’s church is near a Native Reservation, that shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t see any scripture denying people who want to hear the gospel. The Gospel should be preach to all of the world(Many Many types of Culture).
This movie is a great portrayal of relationship vs. Religion 🙏
Wow, "we can only walk through doors that are opened to us, and yours is not." Some things never change.

Awesome movie!! Saw it today. My heart was touched so deeply when they were receiving the Lord and getting baptized.
I see the parallels of people in the LGBTQ community today. Many churches spitefully close their doors on these lost sheep. We were all lost sheep, but thank you Jesus that His love drew us close to Him. How can we represent His love when we shut the door on their face? Other churches may also go on the other extreme by not showing The Way, The Truth, and The Life. In both cases, they're not showing love. Share the truth in love and in gentleness as Jesus did.
Its like watching the Lord himself playing the part of evangelist Lonnie Frisbee

Many yrs ago I hade a tape(that's all we had at the time) about God's Intervention in how He brought about Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa - I recall Pastor Chuck mentioning that at the time he experienced what he called "failure" in his ministry
I didn't realize until seeing the few trailers what he had experienced in such a dark place - what struck me in this clip were
the words about the emphasis of God's love and that they were a lot of young people who were all searching for the right things but in the wrong places - one of the Prophets in the body of Christ recently said that in looking back we know it was God only in hindsight - I don't know if I'm going to be able to go and see this movie I've lost my composure several times just typing this

The best story I ever heard about Chuck Smith was when his traditionalist congregation complained that the influx of barefoot hippies was dirtying up the church's new carpet.
So he ripped out the carpet.

Jonathan Roumie is an amazing actor who can do SO many voices! I believe He's anointed by God because he's not seeking his own glory; he's praying that God will use him to bring people to Christ. I see dormant, lukewarm and prodigal believers being revived too; thru this movie and The Chosen. It's glorious, thank you God for your great love, mercy, kindness and grace toward us.
the DEEP cut of TRUTH IN LOVE ." your door is shut " it's got more power in the rebuke nearly because it's not shouted ,but because of it's gentle sadness. for me this cuts incredibly deep and is a magnificent scene from lonnie as well as chuck . chuck didn't fire back but really took it to heart where it penetrate his deepest being and set him free. .what a master class of acting . sometimes the TRUTH is incredibly painful ,but better than the consequences of the alternative. where we assist in our life being robbed from us [that is ,"what could be but isn't" and finally the terrible tragedy of "what could have been but wasn't". Johnny cash's "hurt " backs that up "if i could do it again I'D FIND A WAY.]
Just watching this I will see this movie. 🙏

I met Chuck Smith briedly in late 1970. I asked him what he thought of the Vietnam war. I'll keep his answer confidential, but it seemed that nobody had ever asked him that question at the time. Shortly before his death in 2013, he came out with a statement against that war.

I am a part of a church that accepts and loves everyone. We have old, young, black, white, gay, straight, disabled, able bodied, rich and poor people attend and they are all loved equally under our God.
@@markwitcombe2119 Should the church also tell everyone that if they eat shell fish they should repent for their sin? Should the church encourage slavery? Should the church tell people they will be put to death if they work on a Sunday?
No I don't think so, because if you take everything literally from the old testament the world would be a fucked up, unkind place.
@@markwitcombe2119 If God has not changed his mind where homosexuality is concerned, then he has not changed his mind where shellfish and slavery are concerned, so I hope in your church, you also call on people who eat shellfish to repent and also encourage people to participate in slavery.

A very good movie that I highly recommend, regardless of faith. I don't think this movies release coinciding with what is happening in Asbury is a coincidence. The Jesus in my imagination/ experience does not tell people 'what they're doing wrong' or about their 'flaws' or mistakes or 'shut doors'. He just BE'S the Open One. He just BE'S the OPEN DOOR that he wanted from *them*, from an imagined world *out there*. He does not console others to tell them how to improve or what choices they are making that aren't 'optimal' or aren't considered 'kind'. He doesn't do ANY of that. He did not judge. He did not judge a single thing or person or experience as less than Perfect.💖 He just BE'S the Pure POSITIVE Open Accepting being that leads by example. That teaches through the clarity of his Being. And when others .. if others.. in his story come to talk with him, consult with him... he only asks questions for them to reach their Own conclusions and self realizations, and supports anything and Everything they bring to him because he knows ALL is Good. ALL is Perfection. He knows that suffering is a choice. And when others know that it's ok to feel good .. that its ALWAYS MOST IMPORTANT to feel good in themselves.. they give Themselves their own permission to happiness and end of suffering. He is a Wayshower. Teaching ONLY through the clarity of his being. Not because ANYONE needs to know Anything. He shares for His Own joy💖.. his own exaltation!🌟💕

Well done, I plan to see the movie but may I respectfully add one observation, your pastor isn’t your Shepherd that position is filled.
True sheep hear the real Shepherd’s voice, pastors are lead sheep, make sure you know where they are leading you.
God created us as individuals, so our faith walk is unique to each of us, it’s our own responsibility so never be afraid to question where a pastor is leading you.
Pastor - Middle English pastour, from Anglo-French, from Latin pastor herdsman, from pascere to feed.... What is a herdsman? He is a shepherd.....
Respectfully, I don’t believe in titles, I believe that there are those that have been blessed with the talent to have a deep understanding of the Gospels and the ability to share it with others and to lead when required but titles creates a tier system.
We all were created as individuals, with life and spiritual experiences unique to our own Faith walk.
We all have something to share and sitting in front of a podium being lectured doesn’t encourage or give others that opportunity.
I don’t think it’s wrong but I do think there’s other ways to worship that can be more personal. I also see the negatives of pastorship
Pastors and their families are put on a pedestal, expected to be available 24/7, expected to be perfect in every way and when they aren’t, it’s fodder for believers and non believers alike.
They can’t be vulnerable and admit mistakes, the pressures are enormous.
And, again I say this respectfully, after awhile, how can a man relate to others when all he has is paid for by others?
The Apostle Paul was a tent maker during his missionary journeys, I have no doubt Christ’s Apostles worked their way through also, with some support by believers.
The Jesus Revolution created a more personal and IMHO a more 1st Century way of worship, I experienced it, one summer in Texas in the mid 70s.
But then the movement took on the trappings of the denominations and to a certain extent legalism.
From tents to mega churches and all the personal worship returned to rote.
If another revival does take fruition, and I’ve seen sign for some years, it will be an opportunity to break down the tiers that alienate and lead believers to a truer way of worship.
Again I don’t condemn traditional worship but some believers want more, personal, simpler and I’ve heard the same from nonbelievers.
Pardon, I know this is lengthy.
As Jesus told John 3 times. "Take care of my sheep". A pastor is watching the flock as Jesus has commanded him to.
