The mod author forgot that colonizing happens only upstream, so no one will colonize the Caribbean if it's an end node.
Being in group with the modder, we are a multplayer group and the idea were to have carabien as a contested hotspot, so ai were not really taken into account but i will give the feedback to him.

I prefer to play as a minor nation that not usually colonizes and out-compete the majors...

Haven't used this specific mod but I remember an older mod I used that did basically the same thing. I loved it. Changed so much in the game being able to actually go directly to Asia. Had the English expanded across Siberia just because that was the closest colonial area. While the Spanish and Portugese were fighting nonstop for Indonesia and the surrounding areas. Made grabbing the little islands in the Pacific really important for colonizers.

Bengal is (at least partially) named after the Kingdom of Vanga, which ruled much of that region

The problem with takig Caribean in this mod is tha AI colonial nations colonize first upstream node by node to make in normal game the most profit. Thats also why they dont skip nodes.

This just proves again that colonisation is OP in EU4. France has I´m pretty sure been doing consistently terribly in these ai-only games because Spain and Britain simply get way too much wealth and power, way too early from their colonies. It´s rare for France to even exist in Europe by the end of the game normally, split up between Spain, Britain and whoever came out on top in the HRE. Take that enormous buff away and they all get absolutely curbstomped, pretty decisively. For EU5 paradox really should try to address that imbalance. Yes, France was held back by the wealth that Spain and later Britain got out of the Americas, but not as significantly as they do in EU4.
Except that England never does much despite colonization and Spain loses most of their colonies because they get destroyed in Europe (normally by France). Colonization is strong midgame but is a weakness in the endgame because the colonizers don't keep their armies in Europe and have difficulties bringing them back to Europe during wartime.

My favourite colonizers is england since their missions allow them to just decide what goods will be produced in every province they colonise. Extremely overpowered
favorite way to play is a custom nation Indonesian pirate republic with a heavy focus on colonizing the pacific islands. THE SPICE MUST FLOW! Y'ARR!

I play like Scandinavia, Japan, and Russia for colonization because they didn't really have any irl but they had potential also got plans for Mali and Andalusia

Every so often I do play colonizers. Typically it's Castile. Although typically I don't take the colonization ideas until 3rd and 4th. Also I've played England a few times to go for Anglophile before getting bored and stopping playing them for a few patches.

I dont tend to play colonizers, but if I do you bet its the classic tall Netherlands campaign where I am allowed to only own the lowlands in Europe and when I fight other nations after owning all of the netherlands the peace deal is releasing new countries out of them to weaken them out

With colonization i always go France. Take as much from England early on as possible. Including Pale so I have a stepping stone into the British isles. And then i face Castile and/or Aragon to cripple a future Spain a early as possible
Pretty sure the name bengal is just a romanticised version of Bangla, which originates from the kingdom of vanga (Which strangely didn't actually rule over what we would classify as modern bengal, and rules over the same area as Jaunpur+Delhi does, but somehow i guess the name stuck in bengal? idk)

The most fun colonial gameplays I had was with Granada where I just ran off to the new world and did a sunset invasion of Iberia 200 years later.
Based. That would actually be so funny, imagine all of the Old World thought the Castilians completely conquered Grenada and won the Conquista only for them to come back 200 years later out of nowhere to reclaim Iberia.

The reason no country tried to colonize the Caribbean at around 10:50 you hovered over a caribean province which said that it was 99,999 away from your core provinces

Thing is, it never happens with any other video. Plus i keep getting th3 same green splash and artifacts every time i go through some sections of the video.
I tried many times to colonize with Spain or Great Britain but much more satisfying is clicking the peace deal: concede Portuguese Brazil. I know that via colonialism CB these provinces are cheaper than the peace deal ,, concede'' but the former is just way more satisfying. I don't like colonial gameplay solely because the colonies even if fully developed, never help me in any type of conquest and the trade is just way more profitable in Asia than that from the new world (according to my experience)

I like playing spain and puing portugal, austria, aragon, naples, milan, burgundy, and dominate the continent by making gb and fra die immediately so there is no colonizers

I play colonizers but I'm play them focusing mainland. England I always go for France/Burgundy. Castile I go for Spain and push into Africa. Just send a small army to the colonies for war and always peacefully exist with the natives for my colonial policy.
I never do colonial games. It just, feels bad to do. I'll only take the ideas if I'm in a spot where I need to consolidate land around me.
I played the colonization game a couple of times to get the achievements ben generally, no it's pretty boring.
