I kind of forgot that Noggin was once originally a channel for teens, I’m so not use to it. There’s not many videos out there with Noggin during it’s early years. Thank you for uploading this
Noggin's original demographic was definitely parents who grew up in the 70s and wanted their children to experience parts of their childhood, which is why the bumpers like Deja Noggin and Noggin Gold are designed the way they are. My dad liked Noggin a lot because stuff like early Sesame Street and The Electric Company were exactly what he grew up watching, and he wanted me to see all the bits he remembered. These days most of that stuff is on DVD as a curated experience and the discovery aspect of television isn't there. Now that 70s kids are becoming grandparents it'd be nice to see the concept come back on TV.
grobbo! Wow! I never known about that before, I remember reading that Noggin was originally going to be for older kids but they never specify what it was about. For some reason the Electric Company sounds so familiar to me, I feel like I might’ve watched it when I was younger. Anyways, I feel like my parents would’ve also liked Noggin back in the day since they mostly grew up in the 70s and I remember my Dad telling me that he actually go back to the 70s. If the channel was still the same like it was in the beginning of 2000, I feel like he would actually like it.
@@grobboclubI'd say that Noggin originally was a channel primarily made for Adolescents with some Gen-X nostalgia during the late nights. I'd say that because of programming like Walk In Your Shoes and Sponk was made for Adolescents, while the late night programming were for Adults who grew up with the programs (with programming like 3-2-1 Contact and Electric Company as selling points).
Pretty sure it’s next to impossible but would love to see Noggin relaunch in this 2000-01 style at least as a channel on the Pluto TV app. Maybe integrate it to social media platforms too. Would love to relive some childhood memories.
How the heck did Noggin go from being an educational TV network for kids of all ages to only being a TV network for preschoolers? It doesn’t make any sense.

I believe this aired in the early morning of Saturday Dec. 23, since Electric Company and 3-2-1 are reversed the final time - the weekend schedule. Which episodes of the shows aired? Great find!
Maybe it was in the evening right before midnight to after midnight, since the birthdays they show during one of the up next bumpers are for December 22nd, unless they relayed the day before’s birthdays on accident or just until they had the list of birthdays for that day completed and ready to air.

Yeah, I would consider 1999-2002 Noggin as a family channel, since they also tried to appeal to Gen Xers with the Electric Company.

Yea so do I, I was too late to experience this era of NOGGIN. As I first found noggin in mid 2002 when it was forced to split up.
Was born a day after this Lmaooo

Ratings are a hell of a thing
Noggin looked good in 2000 before it got transformed into preschool programming channel.
But this Noggin is too proper against it.
They had a morning block for younger children.

I would have to check again to see about the 321 Contact and the Electric Company episodes, but the Sesame Street Unpaved episode on the tape is 1056.

Any chance you got any Noggin tapes from 1999 or early 2000?
Not 100% sure yet but I do have other tapes from this general period of the channel. At some point I'll be able to get some of them out of storage.

I do own other Noggin tapes, but this was the one I had on hand and some are quite buried.
Alright. Hopefully someday you’ll find the other ones.
