Road to Hana | Know Before You Go | Maui Travel Guide

Lots of people say The Road to Hana is a must-see gem. The Town of Hana itself is considered the “Real Hawaii," and we completely agree with that!
The Road to Hana connects the towns of Kahului (airport) and Hana, hugging the coast for a distance of 64 miles. With 600 winding turns and more than 50 bridges. It is also known as one of the most beautiful roads in the world-- but we're not so sure of that. Are you thinking of doing this drive? Want to learn from our experience?
Definitely rent a car, DO NOT go on a tour bus, limit your car to two people (your back seat riders will thank you), research what you REALLY want to see, be patient, have a paper map on hand, and do not stay the night in Hana.
This video is long but we will take you on our adventure down the Road to Hana in two days. We are glad this one is checked off the bucket list, we won't be going back for a second tour. Hana, you are welcome to stay authentic Hawaii! Mahalo!

Thanks for making this video. I'm sitting on the balcony of my resort as I watch. You have helped my wife and I determine that while the Road To Hana is being billed as a "must do" activity, it's not going to be enjoyable for our little girls. So thanks again. Aloha. Thank you for the realistic expectations. We want to take a long weekend trip from Hilo. As far as car rentals, I hope they have the Turo car rental app as it has been a life saver because the small town airports of Hawaii simply don’t have a lot of car rentals
