(B) How does this plan guarantee that there won’t be another outbreak of war between Ukraine and Russia a few years down the line?

I think there are certain progressive that have brainworms from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars where they see US involvement in any conflict as directly the same as those ones. Sometimes that's more accurate (say with Gaza now) but other times, like with Ukraine, the war and the US's role in it are completely different.

Ok... Ukraine doing poorly is a good bit our fault. In 1994 Ukraine traded security guarantees in order to agree to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, sending their nuclear arms to Russia. Then when Russia attacked Ukraine, we informed them, as a country, that we would assist them as long as it took. They asked for weapon X (can't remember if tanks or missiles 1st)... we said no... finally after waiting and allowing Russia to advance, we gave them, pretty sure it was Abrams tanks. Then they asked for long range missiles... no... we allowed Russia to advance and build defense lines... take Bakhmut... Ok... we'll give missiles. Then.. they needed planes... absolutely not.... we waited... Russia advanced more through meat waves and then other countries (N. Korea and China) started giving them arms. All during this time... Russia further prepares defenses. Then we agree to planes... Then Europe starts sending more aid and we pretty much stop because our Congress couldn't get their shit together. So, in essence, a lot of the loss in Ukraine can be shouldered by the United States... don't give your word... and not live up to it. If we had not have been wishy-washy and done what was asked in the beginning, Ukraine would have been over and a hell of a lot cheaper. Israel... we are promoting that war and genocide. We should have NEVER been party to that. Cut them off and this would have been over.
Just like the Iran non nuclear proliferation agreement that President Obama hammered out, so Iran wont develop a nuclear bomb, then Rump withdrew from.
Or the Paris climate accords that Rump withdrew from.

I'm a big fan of John, and I actually appreciate Ana's nuanced takes. There are plenty of "lefty" programs that are tribal to a fault with their talking points and purity tests. Giving credit to a right-winger for a specific circumstance isn't "traitorous". If we're honest, proper media literacy isn’t simply doing knee-jerk reactions about "red team" vs "blue team". We have to recognize the good and the bad from each party and keep both parties accountable.
