Sherlock Holmes - The Boscombe Valley Mystery (ASH)

John Turner, a widower and landowner, lives with Charles McCarthy, also a widower, and his son James in Herefordshire. Charles is found dead near Boscombe Pool after reportedly meeting someone. James is arrested for murder, but Alice, John's daughter, seeks Sherlock Holmes's help, believing in his innocence. Holmes investigates, finding evidence of another person at the scene and deducing the killer's characteristics. John Turner confesses to the crime, revealing his past as a member of the Ballarat Gang. James is acquitted, and John dies seven months later, leaving James and Alice to marry, unaware of their fathers' true history.
