Kay, you’ve got to give this beef stroganoff recipe a try. It’s incredibly delicious and surprisingly easy to make. The tender beef, creamy sauce, and savory mushrooms come together in a mouthwatering combination. Plus, it’s a fun cooking adventure that you can enjoy together with friends or family. You won’t be disappointed, and you might just discover a new favorite dish. Give it a shot and savor the homemade goodness! Ingredients: • 1 pound of beef sirloin, cut into thin strips • 1 onion, finely chopped • 2 cloves of garlic, minced • 8 ounces of mushrooms, sliced • 2 tablespoons of butter • 1 tablespoon of olive oil • 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour • 1 cup of beef broth • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce • 1/2 cup of sour cream • Salt and pepper to taste • Egg noodles or rice for serving • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish Instructions: 1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook until they’re browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside. 2. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until they become translucent. 3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and become tender. 4. Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir well to combine. This will help thicken the sauce. 5. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until it thickens. 6. Return the cooked beef to the skillet, and simmer for a few more minutes to heat the beef through. Season with salt and pepper to taste. 7. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the sour cream. Make sure not to boil the sour cream, as it can curdle. 8. Serve the beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or rice. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

That roasted potato and meat dish looked right spooky, perfect for Halloween and that lot. The way the meat pinged into the pan was a right good magic trick. I remember one time when I was a young child. I was watching Paul Daniels do a fantastic meat trick and I was right impressed with it so decided to try and learn how to do it. Unfortunately my attempt at the trick went horribly wrong and I ended up passing out after using far too much vinegar and bleach. The good thing about it was that I had a dream that I was floating out of my body and then I saw a light and heard Paul Daniels voice trying to beckon me towards it, I knew it was meat for dinner so I never went. When I woke up I got the leathering of my life for spoiling the meat that was supposed to be our meal for that night. Fumbs up.
Looks delicious as always Kay! You are quite the innovator. A Google search says you are the 1st anywhere to post a "Roast Spuds and Meat" recipe. Especially innovative as there is no roasting involved. It does look great, I will try it with some added garlic.
I’m still concerned that you’re referring to the meat element of your meals as just ‘meat’. Is it beef? Chicken? Pork? Roadkill? Or human? You should really clarify so people can follow along with the recipes

Looks gorgeous 😊 The purpose of the oil and butter for searing is that oil has a higher burning point then butter and they compliment each other in flavor as well as in not having your butter burn within minutes of cooking on a higher temp 😊❤
I always LOVED fried potatoes when i was growing up! Just them + a tin of heinz sausage + beans would be lush! Fried potatoes (or "Sautéed potatoes" as people say now lol) are also amazing with a fried egg, piece of bread + butter, and a big fat cup of tea lol. It was always a good hangover cure lol. Lush comfort food! When i can be bothered or if im being "fancy" lol, I'll put some onions in too! Not to caramelise though, just to soften/brown like you'd have on hotdogs lol. Yuuuum. Whenever i peel + boil potatoes, i do extra so that i can put them in the fridge + have fried/sauté potatoes the next day! 🤤🤤 That reminds me of my mum doing us "Bubble + Squeak" on a Monday ~ Did you do that? Its basically leftovers.. so leftover mashed potatoes, carrots/swede, cabbage, all chopped + mashed up, mum added some onion too, some add leeks. But get it all together in a deep frying pan (a sauté pan is good) + fry it so its like a big pancake lol but u can separate/cut it eith spatula before you turn it over to brown the other side! That with beans was a good way to get me to eat veg as a kid haha. U can make mini ones too! Not everyone fries it.. Tesco do bubble + squeak as a microwave side dish (mash with cabbage, leek + maybe swede or carrots, not sure) but you just microwave it as if its a "normal" mashed potato. It's nice, but mam's fried bubble + squeak wins lol! Oh - I know someone's probably said in the comments by now - But you said you weren't sure why the recipe said oil and butter together - I heard that the oil stops the butter from burning!
