- Das EFX - Mic Checka (Remix) - Das EFX is an American hip hop duo. It consists of emcees Skoob (also known as Books, born William "Willie" Hines, November 27, 1970) and Dray (also known as Krazy Drayzy, born Andre Weston, September 9, 1970). They rose to popularity in the early 1990s due to their affiliation with EPMD's Hit Squad and the duo's stream of consciousness lyrical delivery, which became one of the most influential lyrical styles in hip hop music during the early 1990s. Their style combined nonsensical lines with a fast-paced flow (that included words that end with "-iggedy") and numerous pop culture references.

SELENA HOLT Hahahahaha! hell yeah! 🎶
Back then the Remix was purposely made better than the original so the fans and DJ's would run out and buy it ! The clubs would go crazy !!! and it helped promote the album further
Almost 30 years and it's still in my head.

A party wasn't a party until this joint got played! The DJ would always spin the record back fast before he let that deep bass drop! Official!
No lies detected brother 🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You know once that bass drops it would make a seasoned minister come out the pulpit & start sinning 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm trying to tell you! Still on my playlist.
The sound production on this album is amazing. Hearing this in the club you could hear everything in the beat. The dancefloor would be packed. Dope as hell.

This remix of this song samples "Mr. Bass Man" by The Fatback Band (1974) (Intro), "Sing a Simple Song" by Sly & the Family Stone (1968) (Drums), "Think '73" by James Brown (1973), "It's a New Day" by Skull Snaps (1973) (Drums), "Think (About It)" by Lyn Collins (1972), "The Payback" by James Brown (1973) (Intro), "Top Billin'" by Audio Two (1987), "Hot Pants, Part 1 (She Got to Use What She Got to Get What She Wants)" by James Brown (1971), "If It Don't Turn You On (You Oughta' Leave It Alone)" by B.T. Express (1974), a replay dialogue of the movie A Street Named Desire (1951) and a replay of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" by Jane Taylor (1806) .
There's something that baffles me with this tune: The Fatback Band's "Mr. Bass Man" (1974) (Intro), Sly & the Family Stone's "Sing a Simple Song" (1968) (Drums), James Brown's "Think '73 (1973), Skull Snaps's "It's a New Day" (1973) (Drums), "Lyn Collins's "Think (About It) (1972), James Brown's "The Payback" (1973) (Intro), Audio Two's "Top Billin'" (1987), James Brown's "Hot Pants, Part 1 (She Got to Use What She Got to Get What She Wants)" (1971), and B.T. Express's "If It Don't Turn You On (You Oughta' Leave It Alone)" (1974) "which is not on the Who Sampled website for the remix of this track. Can someone help?
Damn... This is the best remix Ive heard yet of Das Efx. Major flashbacks to 1992.
Danced from one side of the club to the other on this one...Damn missing hip hop from the 90's!
This one is a banger. So many great memories. I was a sr in college when this came out. Always respected Das EFX.
1 Of illest Remixes Done 💯♨️🔥
I really don't know if they get enough credit for introducing a whole style and lingo to hip hop!! I mean we are still saying no diggity to this day!
Yup, and they said it years before Blackstreet and any other music artist.
Love the cymbals
Absolutely added to the culture ... not many Songs made can say that ...
It's crazy how original this was when it dropped! True trend setters! So creative!!
100% Club Banger!!
Everyone got on the dance floor!!
I always preferred this beat over the original!
One of the hottest club anthems, in the early 90's.
Always preferred the Remix,.it I'll make ya sweat. Fiya!💯💥
I was living the HBCU life when this dropped. Our boy was a DJ, so we always got to hear remixes before they hit the streets. He would play this during warm-ups, and I would get super amped up. All the teams that set foot in Carter gymnasium back then took L's. # 2 in the nation Johnson C. Smith and # 6 Alabama A&M left with fresh L's.
this version is the club banger
people would lose their minds when the DJ threw this on.
This Don't get Old!

You had to have grown up in it. The youth today don't understand any of these metaphors. But if you grew up in it then you get all the references and why they just make sense. This remix is my all time favorite. Today's rap is so different. Not saying there's no skill in it but battle for battle the new stuff can't hold a candle to this.
man...this slaps hard💯
