My wife's favorite Kristofferson song, I think. It's such an unusual song. It's always fascinated me how the main part sounds like the Stones' "19th Nervous Breakdown", and then the other part is gospel.
HILARIOUS. I actually thought I was being original when, on a Stones fan forum I jokingly said "I blame everything on Mick Jagger-it's become a niche sport." Then another Stones fan posted this video & I couldn't believe there's really a song about this. Haaa! BTW the instrumental part here is lifted from an old Protestant hymn called "Bringing in the Sheaves."
note that the chorus is to the tune of "bringing in the sheaves" a popular church hymn... this song is a satirical look into the tendency of individuals to blame influences in society, while ignoring the effects of their own actions
Things I blame on the Rolling Stones: Hitch hiking around the U.S. to see them every where I could and getting laid, stoned, arrested, shot at and missed, shit at and hit, chased by cops over fences in the parking lot of the San Diego Sports Arena in "72" and just barely making it over the fence, drunker than hell on whiskey and coke and passing out in the bathroom somewhere I don't remember, learning to play like Kieff in open tunings, and just fucking loving their music like a fiend. All good
EVERYBODY SING!!!!!!!!!! Blame it on the Stones; blame it on the Stones Youll feel so much better, knowing you don't stand alone Join the accusation; save the bleeding nation Get it off your shoulders; blame it on the Stones"
As I post this comment, the u.s. is experiencing a crisis at our southern border. Many Americans are upset. The reason these people come here is because they know jobs are here waiting for them. People in foreign countries know what is going on here. They here how Americans don't want to work. It's all over the news; how many businesses don't have enough staff to operate. They are Begging for workers, so why should we be upset that people are flooding our borders. It's rather hypocritical
