Steve Perry is genuinely one of the best singers in the world. I’m 18 now, but I was introduced to Journey by my mom when I was 11, and it was my first introduction to rock music. Since I’m Gen Z and never would’ve heard of them otherwise I’m so thankful that I get to be a fan because of her. I lost her when I was 13, and I miss her everyday, she was my best friend.

How many other people watch this video or listen to this song every day? I literally do at least once a day if not more. It takes me back to when i had my El Camino in the early 90s and my whole life ahead of me. I would listen to my Journey tapes (later cds) and just enjoy life. Over 25 years later, i still get that same sense of happiness listening to these songs (this one a tad more than the rest). That's the beauty of timeless classics like this song. Sorry for the long winded comment, just curious of other fans memories of this great music?!

After that they didn't notice that concert continues with Arnel Pineda with Journey.

I was just fine with Randy but I so hated it when Steve Smith was replaced on drums. He was a fantastic drummer and if you doubt it watch him do his drum solo on the 1981 Live in Houston escape tour. Steve smith KILLED it on those drums to perfection. I've never seen or heard anyone do any better than what he did that night. Thankfully The full Houston concert is saved on CZcams. The entire band was 100% on point at their best the whole concert, and of course Steve "the Voice" Perry was at his usual awesome best.

I've seen dozens of vocalists live, and there's only two that seem to go above and beyond what they even produce on their records - George Michael and Steve Perry. The soul and "real" feel they brought to their live performances when they were out there on the stage was legendary. I wish I could go back in time and travel to watch them on a few legs of a tour, as some were lucky enough to. To me, Steve Perry is the greatest rock singer of all time. Freddie and Robert Plant are close, but Perry, oh em gee...
This song came out after after a break up with my long time boy friend I was devastated. A few months later, I met a man who became my best friend. 7 years later we started dating and we married in 1993. We are still together now and he is still my best friend. We have two adult children. I am definitely fine without the old boy friend and absolutely found someone else -my soul mate who I love and who loves me. This song has so much meaning for me personally.

Lou Gramm was his equal, and in some ways preferable (in my opinion). And Dennis DeYoung was extremely versatile in his prime.

The MIC - Music Inspiration Channel Lou Gramm was great, but he didn’t sing effortlessly like Steve Perry live. I’ve seen videos of both and I have to agree that SP exceeds everyone else in live performance.

It's funny, I never knew till right now journey had a brother in the band, now that explains how this song has so much soul. The whole song, the guitar player got George Benson all over it. This is my favorite songs of all time and I was raised on funk. I had no clue other blacks listen to this song. I know I sound dumb af but it's real.
