Pirates, for the most part, aren’t typically thought of as trustworthy. “We’re rascals, scoundrels, villains and knaves” the remind us later in the song. It should come as no surprise that the film franchise named after the ride tries to be just as sneaky with their audiences.
As this century started, no film company would have dreamed of making a movie based off a theme park attraction. While reboots, remakes and wacky adaptations are common now, the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies changed everything. From the moment Johnny Depp makes his dramatically silly entrance, audiences knew they were in for something special. They just didn’t know everything.
No one could of guessed that Depp, seemingly perfect as Captain Jack Sparrow, was not intended for the role. The script seemed flawless, yet Depp and others always ad-libbed lines, with many unscripted lines making the final cut of the film. People would never know that the films’ director, Gore Verbinski, was scared of the original ride, or that Captain Barbarossa has a good, even if it’s not right, side. Keira Knightley was too young, and Orlando Bloom was totally lickable are secrets never told till now.

U didnt even touch on the fact that Johnny fell down a fucking flight of stairs stood back up and made such a hilarious taunt that was very Jack Sparrow to the surprise of the entire cast. Also he taunted Davy Jones cuz he thinks the heart is inside...

Actually, the reason he was holding up the jar of dirt is because he put Davey Jones heart in it. So, he thought the heart was in there when it actually wasn’t.

im pretty sure when jack was singing "jar of dirt" he did it to mock davy jones by telling him that he has his heart in a jar of dirt, of course, he doesnt know that the heart was stolen at that point, and finds out later when the jar breaks, and he goes looking for the heart in the dirt.

Jack sparrow was flaunting the jar of dirt because he thought Davey Jones' heart was in it, not because he thought the dirt would protect him. And it wasn't dirt sprayed in Blooms face, it was ash from the catcher on the Forge. Yes we focus left to right, theory unbusted. This video blows.

It's a sort of prequel of The treasure island (the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson): the story of how the treasure was found and buried, and why. Captain Flint and Long John Silver are amazing. And all of the other characters too. It is rare I enjoy a series that much, but this is really well done.
