A successful fish down Red Brae pool on the Birse beat of the River Dee, for once I had my GoPro on for the take..

Lovely clean summer fish. Many a fish I caught and also netted for others in the Red Brae, it was a tough wade with the big rocks 30+years ago.
It’s still a lumpy wade but probably a few less fish about than 30 years ago. I bet fishing the Dee then was an exciting experience.
@@jpsflyfishing As time has moved thru the decades the fish numbers have been on the decline all over Scotland, 30 years ago the Dee was starting to lose its much loved "spring run" which seems to be the biggest loss today. In the 1990s their may have been more fish than today, but, very many less than the 60s-80s. We were living then with the older fishermen telling us just how good the 60s-80s were and the old game books/ records made for some envious reading. Birse also had fantastic Seatrout numbers back then with much of the fishing in the summer taking place from dusk till dawn.

Well done. Nice fish too. Ive caught a fair few from the opposite bank a few years ago.
Taking spot was close to our bank opposite you, or at the steps on your bank and down by reinforced bank.
That's the one Iain, he was right where you said at that glassy patch of water near the opposite bank
