Being Black and Spanish heritage. Tobacco is sacred to many of the people in my family.
When I would go to my Abuelas back in the 80’s. They placed tobacco like everywhere: in closets, altars, smoked it and made tinctures with it. It was highly revered by the pharaoh/Queens, since ancient Egypt and in South America where there are 5000 pyramids.
I started smoking cigars 5 yrs ago around the time I started my spiritual journey. (As a woman) the act of smoking cigars came so natural to me and I just found out a couple year's ago that there was a spiritual connection when smoking them. It truly does relax and enlighten me.
Yeah and cigars feel better than cigarettes to me, don't make me feel sick like cigarettes do
In the Dominican Republic tobacco has been used as poultices to heal wounds, swellings and infections. Leaves are often times placed on the forehead for headaches and other ailments as well.
You are talking about our tobacco in the Dominican but not the one we buy in America dear...I miss our clean tobacco, my grandpa raise all his kids on that

My granny and her sisters would smoke a cigar like men in the 70s and 80s in Lafayette, Louisiana. I don’t think they were using it for healing but my granny went 11 years childless and was able to have kids with her husband. She was a midwife and spoke Creole.

Farmers grow tobacco in Eastern NC. When I was growing up my family members worked hard in the fields. My mother's generation was probably the last. Today, it's more by choice than one of few options. Much respect to those who came before me, I will blow some smoke and place a cigarette or cigar on my altar for my loved ones!!!!🚬😌

In my indigenous culture we use blessed tobacco by an elder and medicine man to put out as an offering for our ancestors when we ask them for guidance or to help us with something.

I am 100% Dominican 🇩🇴 (Dominican Republic), and you did mention all the countries in the Caribbean except my Dominican culture who use tobacco all the time and was the first part of the island of the Hispaniola next to our neighbors Haiti to bring the news of Tobacco to Spain. Ancestry DNA are specific and I have Dominican Republic Taino Arawak Indian Ancestry in me alive from the Native Indians hiding in the North of the Dominican Republic.

My dad has been smoking cigarettes my whole life (since he was a teenager) and I have always wanted him to kick his habit but after watching your video, I am convinced that maybe he doesn't even realize that his"addiction" may be more of a spiritual thing. Maybe this is his way of staying connected to his ancestors & the creator...? Maybe he is unknowingly giving offerings when he smokes..?.
