I'm prepping this scenario for my first Kult game. I always find this channel helpful when prepping an adventure for my group. Thank you, Thom amd the rest of the Into the Darkness cast.
Great playthrough! Love Oakwood Heights and KULT! Hope to see more of this dark universe!
My fave scenario out of the quickplays! Each playthrough is unique and delightfully off putting (never managed to get Jenner and Aiden to fight like this though.)
Really nice!
Caitlyn Dehamre went out with a bang (well except for the not being able to die permanently) While Carl didn't, but he had more style.
If scenarios had theme songs, this one would be Down With the Sickness by Disturbed.
So, I did not know the song reference, so I looked it up on You Tube...Awesome Choice!
@@IntotheDarknessIt would be a perfect choice! Now I have to go listen to it again.
@@IntotheDarkness I use Room of Angel personally
Hard to shift gears to this. Credit due to the players being genuine, not just the setting.
Edit: Really appreciate this.
Bravo! Fantastic one shot. Great playing and GMing
Great work guys. I love Kult since the first time reading the books back in 93. No clue that you actually had a censored version of it in the States.
Back when I was 14 in the early 90's they stopped selling the original in toy stores here in Sweden after all the fuss in the news of Satanists and church burnings and moral panic, and roleplaying games that destroyed children.
So I borrowed the books from a kid in school and my dad took it to work and let some of the office girls copy everything and put it in a binder. Still have the black and white photocopy version of it. I wonder what they was thinking about it...
I really think the divinity lost version is just a bit strange in the rules, they could have got rid of a lot of the endless dice rolls from before but instead they made the game even harder to play by the rules for an unexperienced GM.
Still I love the world tho, Kult should be played as messed up and horrible as possible that is the thing with the game, otherwise it is better to play other games. I think the fifth version I hear of people playing Oakwood heights.
I really love that you actually takes some time to tell what happend before the game take place and also after. It all makes a lot more sense then. If sense and Kult belongs together.
Anyway thanks for this playthrou it was really good, I just found the channel, I'll check out more of your stuff!
I was trying to sleep as listening.
"Genesis, shut up" woke me up laughing.
Does Kult: Divinity Lost have anything simular to a penalty dice system? Like, is the storyteller able to give -1 or 2 dice depending on if the character is trying to do something very risky? I am mostly used to Call of Cthulhu, but can't find anything in the source rulebook.
I don't think so. It uses a 20 sided die. 9 or lower is a fail, 15 or higher is a success, in between is a success with consequences. There are things that can add or subtract from your roll. I guess that acts as a penalty lowering your chances for success.
@@IntotheDarkness Right, so I think I miss typed when I said, removing dice. I meant as in simular ways of the "harm" system for weapons. Because there are no hit points in Kult, and the harm value is deducted when enduring injury depending on the weapon. I was mainly curious if that was possible for other things. Thanks for the responds tho. :D
I mean it should be up to the GM I think. Sadly Kult divinity lost is rather strange when it comes to dice rolls and fighting. The game is not really made to be a game that uses skills such as old Kult or CoC.
Same as the GM should never roll for NPC's not even sure if you add penaltys to hit an NPC that has bonus in avoid harm when a player tries to attack them.
If I ever find a player group I would made up a few easy house roles instead of using the system fully.
