I don't know what criteria you were using to determine your ratings. Im Zimbabwean and i feel my country should be amongst the top 10. Nigerians and Ghanaians have also done very well. Their achievements are there for everyone to see. I think good education should not just be certificates, because the standard is different country by country. It should be based on what we are able to achieve, in various sectors of our economy.

My wife and I attended classes in Engineering and Nursing in some of the most challenging schools in the US. None of these countries know more than us. Hearing that no West Africa country except Cape Verde is in the top ten made me question this man level of trustworthiness. Those countries he cited have their best teachers coming from West Africa. So what is he talking about? I always explain Mathematics and physics to most citizens of these countries' citizens. Yet, I'm not the best in my country. So, how come they are more educated than us?

Africa is not educated enough to be counted because it lacks science & technology. Yes it has lots of social scientists. Our education is mostly theoretical we are not productive as a result. I f our education was to be counted we would be free from poverty & unemployment. We would be self sufficient & self reliant . The system that we are in educationally is not so productive hence we do not mone our minerals and process them, hence we do not build our infrastructure on our own, hence we do not make our vaccines hence we do not plant enough grains and other foods for our continent. Africans has not look deep on education to understand that it can be useless and outdated. Africa needs education that in needed currently to solve the African problem of today.

What l know is that a notion can be given Bantu education too.A quasi education system that eductes on to a limited extent and futher to have him or her to become a world competitor. Apartheid South Africa had that for blacks. Why can the colonists & neocolonists have that for Africans in general? your history will tell me that there were no schools in Africa before colonization now we have schools every where and every country have a university or more. What counts is what our children are thought in essence from kindergarten throughout primary & secondary. Does that amount to the solution Africa has internally and globally. If it is not, then we dont deserve to be counted educationally.If it does then we deserve to be counted. Educating in Africa still injects fear of western superiority. It Creates literacy to understand & accept western dominancy and take queue behind it. For African families it a tool to escape poverty individually not as a continent. Africa must have education that sets Africa free from any foreign dominancy. That which will create self sufficiency & self reliancy
