Man, this tune brings back some good memories from my younger years dreaming about the Emulator. I just love this tune and its end climax is just pure magic!!!!!

Listening again after some years... still awesome... all those familiar sounds from Jean Michel Jarre's Rendezvous and Tangerine Dream's Le Parc... just beautiful..... those stringy pads especially evoke so much emotions..
Too bad these beasts aren't made anymore and it's hard to find one, not to mention spare parts if something blows up! The sound is just so warm and beautiful.. It's maybe not as realistic as modern samplers can be but definitely the EII and other vintage 8-bit samplers have much more character.
Also to the people saying the lead is out of tune, go check out Board of Canada...they made an artform out of wobbly melodies. Yes it's on purpose and yes it's totally awesome.
I totally agree! This demo certainly has a very nostalgic feel to it. In fact, I can almost imagine it as something that would've appeared on the original series of a certain Canadian teen drama.
As far as the out of tune comment goes, this recording would have had to have come form the flexible vinyl demo record which could be what your are hearing. I will check.
I remember sometime in 1980 when on tour with Daevid Allen (as "Octavia Neptune," opening act on his US tour), spending several hours in the E-mu studio in Santa Cruz playing with one of these things, probably a forerunner to something like this . . . this is so cool.
This is what vaporwave should have been. It's an actual composition of music that's been warped by dated audio equipment, as opposed to stealing someone else's music and slowing it down.
