2019 and I still remember jaw dropping photos and stories of this guy and family inspiring me to surf and push the edge a bit.
Probably my favorite surfer of all time, forsure. Also my mom use to date Herbie back in the day before Christian and Nate were born.

One of my favorite surfers. Dude is like the Duane Peters of surfing. You would think with as much as he smokes that marlboro would have sponsored him. haha!

Duane is crazy these days..off his rocker..watch his latest youtube videos and ull understand..hes all kind of paranoid and talks about other skaters like trash...skaters that are legends..I think he is hitting the ice pipe too much, he looks and acts like a tweeker now..but Christian is still Christian..solid guy.

i'm 31 and feeling it... I remember growing up watching comps and he would throw his marlboro down as he took off into the water. just chainsmoking waiting on his heat.
He would be more consistent if he didn't smoke. Drugs have done him some damage too

Christian was the inspiration for progressive surfing in the late 80's, He was a hero of mine back then and it is sad to see what he is doing now. Aside from his Trestles win, he could have gone further.
