- Today we answer the age-old question of will a slingshot work underwater. I have never tried to shoot a slingshot underwater just so my first time will be live on camera. But just in case it doesn't work I have several slingshots rigid with different bands and even one that shoots darts and arrows so we will find a way should the regular slingshot round ammo prove to go nowhere.

You guys are trying to recreate the speargun. ..heavy bands and long heavy metal projectiles.
What would be much easier and more practical for " make shift underwater hunting" is making a pole spear from various bands. Looped tubes are practically pre made for this setup. Just tie them near the back end of a pointed stick or pole 3-6 foot long. Pull the bands forward and grasp the pole...release to fire.

They make rounds that will fire under water but you can’t fire them out of water or it will damage the firearm. Different atmospheric pressure...😃

A whisper biscuit sounds like a name for flatulence.
Spear guns with bands work great, for semi short distance. Maybe your sling bow, if the bands are strong enough. I think the ballbearing is like a light weight fishing weight, that won't go very far. Anyways, good luck .

You're describing a spear fishing rig, right. By the time you build one it will turn out like the ones people use in open water spear fishing in the Caribbean. At least it sounds that way to me.

Zach, you should check out any information you can find on spearfishing guns. Imitating the principals used there will really help you! But I love the imagination in the content! I'm watching every episode!
The pouch is the weak link in the design underwater. SpearGuns are basically a form of sling and they keep the launching rubber or springs contained or sliding along the sides of the "barrel" so they do not push a lot of water. A single prong and rubber, sling stick design might work if you use it with the flipping motion to get the stick out of the way as the "spear" passes. Also if you make a tiny, close fit "bucket" pouch for a ball bearing it might not cup the water so much. Investigate Spear-guns.
Fowler is right the slower missile avoids the 'sheer thickening effect' 😎

You could have tried to use the release on the loop of the darts. Maybe that would work for better aim and more power.
Tried they would have to be bigger the kine was to fine and it slipped threw the Trigger

Saw this video last week ordered my sparrow when it ended. I received my sparrow the following Saturday and I broke my wrist the night before it arrived. It maybe an east coast west coast thing but those are "whisker biskets" not "whisper brisket" they are made of lots of whiskers they dont make it quieter

Maybe you could make a sort of spear throwing slingshot for fishing. I had this cool metal spike with just a latex band on it, tied to the end, but I managed to shoot fish with it

Have you made an ammo sorter that sorts rubber and metal balls?, I have an idea on how it might be done.
1st gotta get em all rolling pretty quick on a vibrating run and have a weakish magnet on one side so when the steal balls go by the magnet will pull them to the side but the energy they already got will push em past it. Just an idea.

Honestly I have seen lots of different videos of people doing crazy stuff with swimming pools where they shoot the side of them with a large-caliber handgun or something like that and I seriously thought at first it was for real until I saw the rest of the original video. I thought that best one of the darts might have been able to make it through the swimming pool but nothing lined up with the way the intro happened. I'll say this much Valor you have definitely inspired me along with a couple other of my favorite CZcamsrs to someday do my own CZcams channel/videos.

I said the same thing zach did about speed being the factor when shooting underwater
I think if you had more rotation to the projectile you'd have a lot better luck. Some of the devices you were using might allow some twisting but ideally the projectile needs something like a screwbody on it so it will spin in the water.
