- Welcome back to another VATSIM-focused tutorial for MSFS 2020. This time we're going to focus on how to navigate in VFR flight, primarily looking at GPS, VOR, and old fashioned pilotage. I'll be flying the Cessna 172S (steam gauges) from the premium deluxe version of MSFS 2020.

Excellent tutorial!
Thanks for yet another informative video. Really love your no-nonsense style - just the facts and no waffle - it's perfect! Cheers
Ross Allen thanks :)
Very good explanations, really appreciate all the ways to navigate. Keep it up.

Thank you :)
Great videos, Brandon! I am enjoying them. Thanks for the 1440p resolution too. It takes longer to upload but is so much better!

I may have some questions for you next week, in regards to your preferred settings in TrackIR. It seems to be working really smoothly for you.
Welcome aboard!
If you haven't already found a good trackir profile, spuds dcs profile is the best one I have come across.
Very good tutorial, maybe a transit over an airport tutorial next ? Subbed
Very good explanation I have a question so when your entering class charlie it's for approach and take and for delta it's the same way too or you have to request what your gonna do and for echo land only ?
Can you spec out your system for us? Your graphics are among the best I've seen for FS. Thanks!
Check out the description :)
If you're VFR on flight following, or are going to request flight following with a center, do you still need to contact tower to request Class B airspace transition clearance? I'm going to start flying with VATSIM after hundreds of hours of offline flying
Kenneth are you taking off from a class C, or class D airport? If so, you’ll need to contact tower anyway. If you want into class B airspace you must have explicit clearance.
If you’re at a class B airport you’ll be cleared by default... you are already in it.
If you’re at class E airspace you do have to talk to center due to how class B airspace works, even if you’re not inside it, but under it. If you want to be cleared into bravo you’d talk with center (or approach if they’re online).
I'm convinced they couldn't have made a more confusing system of airspaces had they tried (whoever the THEY was back in the day)
Hey there any ideas on why my VOR gauge moves in increments of 10 instead of 1. Either clicking or mouse wheel in both 152 and 172.
Happens from time to time with various instruments. Don’t know what causes it but if you just mess around it’ll revert to normal.
I just got an answer on MSFS from someone saying if you have any hardware ON position in FS it’ll cause that. Old bug from FSX. Like my Honeycomb Yoke key switch on. He said need to fix in FSUIPC.
I keep hearing “terrain” when flying, any tips?
Are you flying jets? Lol
What app are you using to view the airspace charts?
ForeFlight
@@atmosflight5534 Ah, it's some of that fancy pilot software. I'll have to find some sort of free alternative for airspace charts - thanks anyways!
@@teavo3808 use Sky vector ;)
@@atmosflight5534 god bless
What app you use to see such map?
I used my ForeFlight subscription for those graphics.
@@atmosflight5534 Thank you
