I remember my first trip to Barcelona in 1985, the sea front was nothing like it is today, it was just rocks and a road. The re development has worked it's like a mini Brazil beach theme with restaurants. I know recently there have been protests against tourism, it would not be glamorous without tourists spending a fortune over the years! Best wishes
Barcelonetta Beach is fabulous Kevin for a city beach and loads os lovely restaurants all around there.The port is used a lot for cruise ship visits and also a turnaround port for ships starting and ending cruises
I hated Barcelona. Ramblers etc . Was just with a couple of friends. . Felt uncomfortable.. was talking to a bloke . Someone tried to pick his pocket .. nearly pulled his hand off . Not best place been too
Some of those bars on the sea front are a total rip off and will charge you a fortune. The outdoor bar opposite rusty wonky steel structure that's on the beach has to be the most expensive in Barca.
I'd say on mainland Spain, Nerja probably has the best beach, but it's too small lol. The water is crystal clear. Loved Barcelona, but I prefer Malaga.

Great Kevin, Barcelona has a lot to explore. If you get the metro it’s so easy to get around the different areas. Beach is great too 👍😀
