Im born and raised in Houston. Growing up people were more familiar orientated and Houston was considered a city where you can settle and grow. Now, with the influx of new people the entire personality of the city has changed, including its dating scene. Many people moving down here are exploring their new environment and not necessarily looking to settle down within the first 2 years of moving to a new city. It’s time to play. In the other hand, native houstonians are finding interest in their new neighbors. That is why i think the dating scene is more difficult. The energy of the city is new to all of us. Word of caution for those dating, STDs are at astronomical levels so please be careful.

Thank you for sharing your experience I moved to H-town in 2003, I planned my move for a year (from TN) prior to moving, to anyone planning to move, these are the questions you should ask yourself: Why are you moving to the city? I moved because I knew there were better opportunities in Houston than my hometown, I actually researched where I could take classes and corporations in Houston that I would want to apply to in the future
What do you need to make your move easier? Income. I didn't feel comfortable moving without a job so I made sure there was a job waiting when I arrived, I didn't get behind on any bills and had enough money in savings in the event of an unexpected expense (car problems, etc.).
Where in the city are you going to live? The geography of the city your moving to is important because it will affect you standard of living, in Houston you will need a reliable vehicle, I would not suggest anyone move here with the expectation of relying on public transporation , for the 1st 3years I lived in an apartment around the corner from my job, in the event I had car problems or there was bad weather I was in walking distance, not only that I saved on gas.

Hey 😢sis love this interview about Houston. I have watched so many of these videos. They are very high on views. You by far have the best one. All I heard was truth. There are women moving here with no jobs and kids, staying with people struggling. Talking about god spoke to them to make a move to Houston with bad credit and no positive rental history. 😂😂😂it’s insane. Keep up the good work ❤❤❤ The Bible is my favorite book. 📖 😊

This is the brutal and honest truth about Houston in my opinion. It’s a cesspool. If you live within Houston city limits more than likely you’re going to be robbed at some point. You’re car will be stolen or vandalized or home burglarized. It’s excruciatingly hot from June to October. Mosquitoes make an outdoor experience even more frustrating during the same months. Traffic is ridiculous. No such thing as an easy ride across town. Due to city funds being appropriated by a corrupt city government the infrastructure is in disarray with terrible roads and huge drainage problems. There’s not enough police or firefighters. There’s a good chance you’re gonna be flooded out at some point. The Houston Independent School district is atrocious. The galleria used to be a good upscale mall but now it’s a ghetto, hood rat haven. The homeless beggars at most gas stations. It’s a rather ugly city. Just ride around loop 610 and look. I can think of two things where it has an advantage over most major cities. The cuisine and the cost of living. That’s it.

I moved to Houston in 2022 after living in NY for over 20 yrs and definitely didn’t expect anything different other than more affordable Homes with more land at a better quality🤷🏾‍♀️ The traffic, luxury shopping, tomfoolery in the dating pool and the Homeless population..........is all going on right where I moved from😂 I think it’s where you are in your life and what you feel is a priority versus moving to another city based off of perception.

I moved to Houston in 2019. I loved it when I settled initially. I like the low cost of living, diversity and culture. With that being said, I feel like a lot of things have changed after the pandemic as more people were moving in droves. Besides that, the weather is brutal. We have extreme heat, natural disasters that will take the city out in minutes due to poor infrastructure, flooding, extreme cold that our grid up until recently could not withstand. The traffic is awful, especially in the evenings; turning a 15-20 min commute into an hour. Oh I forgot to mention, I have never come across such rude behavior in my life until I moved to Houston. I saw a young woman physically assault a frail elderly man who was in a wheel chair, and those are just some examples. I have had my car broken into three times in two years, and I live in a nice part of town. Oh and dont get me started on the mosquitos! They will eat you alive, and you’ll find massive roaches just crawling around in the city. I plan to move by next summer. Those are some things to consider if you plan on moving here. If I could rewind back time, I wouldnt move here.

people drive like idiots here, there is no law so they drive however they want. They speed and pass everyone which increases car insurance due to how many accidents there are.

The speeding is INSANE! No police on the highways so people do whatever they want.

Just the way they complain about Houston girls, they do it about Miami girls too. And I'm sure ever other city girls too. Like come on! Where does the story ends? Lol!

I am from Cali & me and my family were looking for the homeless to help them and we barely seen any homeless. We are use to seeing about 5-10 every 5 minutes. We literally was like where are the homeless people geesh

If you down by Minute Maid Park off the highway, they have a lot of homeless camps down that way.

Where are you from? I'm from Cali and it's normal for people to be outside and buying luxury things. (LA/OC area)

I was born and raised in Houston. That city is broke and dusty. If shit pop off you’re gonna get caught in the crossfire
