I know as an artist these gear videos probably weighs you down. But I just wanted to say 2 years later and your video is helping people like me get back into photography. And your videos will continue to help alot of strangers for many years to come. It's hard to see the change you're making day by day, but I hope it makes you feel a bit better knowing that you're helping people

this video is dated.. 😢 fast forward to present day and only the current Fujifilm bodies are fairly priced while the old models prior to the XT3 are inflated

I had an X-E2 for the longest time! Great camera, especially paired with the 16mm 1.4. I had it until a had a slip while crossing a stream... ooops. The 16mm 1.4 survived. THe X-E2 didn't. I replaced it with an X-T1. WOW! The massive EVF is a revelation!

Always a fan of encouraging people to buy older equipment, for any reason. Save your money, everyone. :) It is a shame these seem far less common than the X100 series on eBay.

Just upgraded to the XE3 from the XE2 and I know what u mean. But the faster focusing on the XE3 works for me + ACROS 😍

I agree with you about the X-trans II sensor’s image quality. I have an X70 and absolutely love the JPEGs it produces. I’m thinking of picking up an XE-2 and adapting vintage lenses to it to see what kind of magic it can produce.

The X70 was my first Fujifilm, and it’s still my daily carry, instead of my X100V, XM1, X-E3, X-T2 or X-H1.

I have the X70 and absolutely love it for its size and quality of JPEGs. I recently picked up a used X-E2s in mint condition and low shutter count (less than 2,000) and I’m having a ball with it, too. I agree with you that the XTrans II sensor is the best in terms of colors and JPEGs. They are special cameras and I have no desire to buy a new, more expensive camera.

I tried to sell my XE2 with lens and in the box like new and they only offered $250 so I said thanks but no. Im so glad because I went home and watched every tutorial and now its by far my favorite camera and I only shoot JPEGS period. I also shoot a lot in A mode with the lens in A and also in T mode and use the rear dial to set my shutter speed and its so fast to use and I rarely miss a shot now. It has 7 custom modes and custom recipies that I cooked up with help from you folks on youtube. I simply hit the Q button and toggle between the 7 custom settings with my rear control wheel and get many different film simulations and they are so good that I never need to waste time in photoshop. the video is awesome especially if on a tripod, you simply need to walk slow and pan slow if not on a tripod. it even has a switch lever on the front to toggle between manual and single and continuous auto focus. about the same size as the X100 but with interchangeable lenses.

I had the X-E2 for a bit and agree it's a great great camera for the price. Paired with the 27mm 'pancake' lens it's about the same size as an X100/S/T/F, even if the glass isn't quite as fast. It uses the same sensor as the X100S which as you noted has incredible colors. It has a slightly higher resolution EVF than the early X100 line and, again as noted, there are endless lens possibilities.

The Fuji 16mm 1.4 is so unique. It has a photojournalist composition and also close portraits are so different than most. Those Fuji film simulations are one of a kind. I do like street photographer that use the X100 camera leaf shutter and external flash guns as strobists.

I use the XT3, but every now and again I take out the X70 when I'm just taking snaps. The X70 was almost right in so many ways. But when you get the shot right I absolutely agree. The colour, the contrast, the feel SOOC is gorgeous.Fuji has improved on almost every other aspect, but I agree there was something about the 'soup' of that sensor and processor that could produce and still can produce gorgeous jpegs.

The X-E2 got caught up in the tiktok rush for the X100V lately. Right now you can expect to pay over $400 for a decent X-E2. That said this is the perfect body for me, all the color and photo quality of the X-E1 with much better manual focus aids.

Yep, the X-E2s was my first taste of Fuji in 2017. Soon after, I waved bye-bye to almost 40 years of hauling Canon gear all over the map. Picked up an X-Pro 2, X-T2/with booster, 50-140, 100-400, 18-55, 10-24, 56 1.2, 16mm 2.8. Last year replaced my X-Pro2 with the ’3’. I have decided to give both the X-T3/4 a miss as they are assembled in China (and no, it is not a QC issue). I still have my X-E2s and I suspect that I will hang onto it for the foreseeable future, I simply love that camera.

I have newer cameras (two X-T3 bodies and an X-T2 and X-Pro2) but in 2020 I bought a new in the box X-E2s... same as your E2, but with all the firmware updates and a few external tweaks.

Great video! I just came across this video after doing a search on the Fujifilm X30. Like you, I used to own the X-E2, sold it and picked up the X-E3 thinking I was getting a much better camera. I must say I loved the X-E3 but loved the colours on the X-E2 better. Acros was the primary reason I picked up the X-E3. That said, I eventually sold it, bought and X-H1 for professional work and then sold it as well. I do mostly street photography, documentary and photojournalism. I realised that I didn't really need IBIS or a 24MP+ sensor to make great photos.

Actually I sold my x-t10 ... and miss it terribly... when I look at the images I took with this device I am still stunned ... I definitely see the appeal of that old 16MP sensor
