Mr. Garcia, the undertaker on Anastasia island, showed me how to make my first cotton 4 ft shrimp net when I was nine years old. His grandson, Phillip "Bubba" Segrest, had a mold that made 8 round ball sinkers at a time with a skewer rod that went down the middle. Used wheel weights were free at the tire stores.

They are certainly tough to find now adays. I’m having trouble myself. The moulds we were using in the video were made by mr Usina. He and his buddy Phil were nice enough to let me come over and use them. Every once in a while you see one pop up on eBay. There are other routes to go but they are pricey. The cheapest I’ve found is getting a custom mold made and the cheapest I’ve found someone who will do it was in the ballpark of 250 dollars
